Under rating threshold (show) Okay, I've been trying to find a "Risk" themed game forever now. I tried World Rebellion but I couldn't play it. I'm so glad someone else did the same thing.

Under rating threshold (show) From humble beginnings in Mauritania, a man would arise to conquer the entire world, battling across Africa to eventually South America, claiming Antarctica, Australia and carving out a piece of Asia. Soon a great war started in America and Canada and Europe went up into an arms race, after a previous aftermath of total war in Asia their lands were easy pickings for the Empire that stretched halfway around the world. America and Canada were caught in a pincer movement of armies causing a climax to a war that raged for years. Slowly the battered troops in America went on to Europe and a triple movement occurred crushing all within Europe that still opposed the Empire, the rest of the world followed in a few years. Victory for the user :D. GREATNORMOUS game. 5/5

Under rating threshold (show) first i thought wow 3 years on a flash game? but wow this game is great. 1 small thing would be great: the little window that appears where you can choose how many units you transfer, it would be great if it would STAY where you drag it for every country

Under rating threshold (show) First of all, the game is super addictive. Before I knew it, I spent an hour and a half playing it. There are two things that bug me a bit though. 1. I don't like to have my map zoomed all the way out, but when it's up close, some of the countries on the borders are hard to see. I wish there was like a scroll zoom but that's a fairly minor thing. 2. When you select a country on the border of the world, the box that lets you pick how many armies do something tends to be outside the screen so I have to drag it in. It'd be nice if the box would always pop up in the middle of the screen. Still, a GREAT game and by far the best risk-like game I've seen on kong. Definite 5/5

Under rating threshold (show) @Chez557 No it wasn't, if you're going to make claims, at least do some research, don't just make blind statements. I agree with you that games like this are probably based on Risk, but Risk was based on La Conquête du Monde, which translates to "The Conquest of the World". Course I just took 3 seconds to google it, so I'm not even going to claim with absolute certainty that I'm accurate, but only that Risk isn't "The original".

Under rating threshold (show) Good grief! Does anyone have any tips on insane? I abandoned Africa and focused on developing North America and Europe. I survived until turn 22 which I consider an accomplishment! They start pounding you on turn 11. Great game by the way!! 5/5

Under rating threshold (show) all these people are relating to the game "risk" ive never played it, so can someone advise me if i will still enjoy this or not?

+ - !

Developer response from FizzerWL

Risk is an old board game. Risk is not a bad game, but it's not designed for online play. It's designed to be played around a table over a couple hours. Online, we don't live by the same constraints, so the rules in WarLight fit better to online play.

Under rating threshold (show) Winning strategy: If you start in the middle of a large landmass restart your game until your on an island or right next to one. Next take over the territories immediately surrounding you (depending on where you start this may mean a whole continent) until you've made it so that the enemy can only get to you through three or four territory's. Next use on of these "gateway" territories to evade the smallest accessible land mass (remember islands are your friends) and use your spare armies to beef up your other gateway countries. Once you have two fairly secure groups of territories under your control try to expand around the edges of the map. Going for the center of a large number of territories will only get you killed. If you're careful and advance with caution you'll be able to surround the huge land masses on all sides then you can move in for the kill.

Under rating threshold (show) You should make it where your settings stay when you make a custom game, it gets tedious having to in-put the cards every time.

Under rating threshold (show) The game is overall enjoyable, but i found navigating around the map a bit annoying. If I tried to transfer to a country on the edge of the map, the window would be stuck halfway into the right side of the screen and I would have to drag it back over. Otherwise, I liked it. 4/5.

Under rating threshold (show) Caderyn, I am fine with AI being intelligent, I typically play games on the highest difficulty available... I am not fine with the AI clearly basing it's moves off of my own. I even tried attacking 3 places at once and the AI just happens to know that every time, and reinforces all 3 to the best of it's abilities. Eventually they do get overwhelmed because you can abuse said behavior to it force them to waste armies while you suck up all the other countries with a tiny force, but that is hardly what I would call strategic, more like pedantic. Granted, an excellent idea, even decent execution, just seriously lacks the fun factor if you aren't into grindy games.

Under rating threshold (show) A pretty good Risk clone. The AI is quite clever which is nice to see. The only thing I don't like is the simultaneous turns, it's an interesting twist on Risk but it means romping through poorly defended enemy land with a surprise large army is impossible.

Under rating threshold (show) Adding to my comment. I think the allied teams should be more clear. Maybe similar colours for the same alliance (Dark blue, light blue). Because it's really important. You need to make sure the other alliances are fighting each other or else you have no chance.

Under rating threshold (show) Cheebsta, the thing about artificial intelligence is that occasionally they do something intelligent, like reinforce the place that has been attacked multiple times and is therefore likely to be attacked again. On the contrary, the AI plays intelligently, which is more of a challenge.

Under rating threshold (show) is it wrong that i love too destroy my home country xD? ,aside from that, great game,i dunno, but i think you have added all that can be added to such a game though,so maybe put out a little more maps, then make a new "risk" game, where you maybe make your own speseficx soliders, use tech and such?atleast i want you to continue the risk games.

Under rating threshold (show) I beat the crazy challenge! Started in Africa and took it over, guarded the south with about 20 armies then sent up about 50 armies to France, and a ton up to Saudi Arabia. I had hundreds of armies in there late in the game. Meawhile I went to South America and took that over and then North America and across to Europe. I was lucky that the guy in Europe seemed to be busy on the eastern front and couldn't be bothered attacking me on the west, which allowed me to focus my attention on the US and Canada.
