to get level one in 6 you just have to keep restarting untill you get both the Ukraine and middle east in your first turn.

Mante, don't try to capture Europe the first turn. Make a bee line for australia. Some turn when you have a few extra armies complete Europe by grabbing russia. You'll need a bit of random number generator luck to complete this one but it's possible!

Only part I hate is how the AI don't prioritize very well, they'll pay equal attention to you and the other AI, even if the other AI might be a much bigger threat, or vice versa. It's very tedious on the higher detailed maps, and doesn't seem to scale well.

StratShotPlayer: you can win in 6 turns if you conquer Middle East in the first turn instead of East Europe. The strategy is to move one step towards Australia in each turn (Middle East -> India -> Sian -> ...) and conquer East Europe in 2nd or 3rd turn, when you have enough army to spare. This way you conquer Australia before the 7th turn starts, and that's what counts.

Game dosnt make sence. Attack with 124 vs 38 and lose and they are left with 33. Balance the game and it might be good

Wanting to cancel all the meticulously planned and executed moves I've made during at turn? Extremely rare. Wanting to cancel a single move I made by mistake(say, reinforcing or attacking a wrong territory because everything is frickin' tiny)? Quite common. Yet only ONE of these can be done, for some reason.

I'm pretty well convinced the gold rating on the first level is not even possible. Mostly because I DID complete it in 6 turns only to find out the game didn't feel like declaring me the winner until it had begun the 7th. That's just pure programming stupidity to allow something like that in the game to begin with, but for it to still be in there after all this time is a whole new level of ducking fumb.

Thank you for the advice for level 3. By letting the AIs fight each other more, it gave me the chance to build my armies better! Moving on to level 4 :-)

Chaosinmotion - second part
With your army bonuses and bonus card, you should easily beat him, take greenland, and made scandinavia and british as choke points from europe – you’ll prevent AI gaining territory bonuses by it (britain=europe=6 armies per turn if someone has west europe) and you can calmly prepair your invasion whenever it suits you best – south america, or east asia. Remember, head to keep territories so you’ll have most bonuses and don’t waste your armies on some you won’t get army bonuses soon. Try to go one by one at start, don’t try to obtain 2 group of territories with different army bonus at once. Also, Don’t attack always when you encounter AI – choke points can be great as you use defend bonuses and AI will fight each other rather than attack your 20+armies choke territory.

Chaosinmotion :
In level3, location of yours and even your enemies are randomly generated. I even once started with one AI as my neighbourhood territory. With a bit of luck, you’ll once start alone far from other enemies, which will fight each other – this could help you greatly. In this level, if you start in europe/asia, it may seem looks like a good position, but actually, it’s not – there are plenty valuable territories, but most probably, soon you’ll end fighting two enemies at once. I recommend you starting level as long as you start in north america. There, quickly head for first 5 territory bonus (depending on your starting location), then 3 mexico bonus and then next 5 armies bonus territories. Then, you’ll fight canada, which is worth od 7 armies but it is big. There you’ll probably face first enemy.

WarLight is beautiful strategy. At first sight, it looks like another clone of risk but that is very far from truth. Custom maps prolongues the entertain even more, from the standard missions, I love mostly world campaign. AI is not too stupid (comparing to many other games) and does not cheat, sometimes at surprises you and you think how to surprise it similar to chess. You create chokepoints in key territories like in total war games and even the concept of allies works very well here, while level of randomness makes it still unpredictable a lot of times. This game is a shaped diamond to me.

Just won the hard badge on the first try in 23 turns. Didn't know about the badge before. Didn't know I had to finish in 24 turns. Didn't know it was supposed to be hard until I read the comments. And on looking at the playback, I did everything the comments said not to do. I use all the air reinforcements on myself each time I got the card, let the enemy take over 70% of the map, let my ally die, and just fight my way through. There wasn't even a point where I had to worry about losing. I rock =D

Insane Challenge 25 turns victory (with save scumming) is a go! This allowed me to know how the enemy will move, and place my armies accordingly. Also, a decisive use of two discard cards allowed me to trap and destroy two biggest enemy armies at the same turn. Tip - go through NW Africa and into Svalbard N, then go Africa S. This will usually put you in position to pillage the enemy's undefended territories and secure your victory. I lucked out in that the same enemy was distracted taking over Canada N, so didn't resist. I didn't luck out in that I mostly played tag with the weakest enemy (12 armies/turn) instead of decisively killing them, so they turned out to be the last enemy to die, in Indonesia S. And another protip - it's better to have a territory that borders A LOT of enemy territories, and gets mostly wiped out each turn. They will be deploying and sending their armies piecemeal and you can keep stalling them there... Totally unlike real life, see encirclement in warfare. :)

Turn 25 of 25, every remaining country is surrounded. To be absolutely safe from any cheeky attacks we shall deploy each of our bordering countries to be 10 above the current enemy population.

Hard badge tips
First level: attack towards Australia first turn. Second turn take Europe and move towards Australia with another attack.
Europe: Use air reinforcements on ally the first time only. The second time use on yourself as you're more likely to utilize the armies better. Early on give one group of 50 to the ally. Later on either reinforce ally or attack through if enemy is nearby. Saving is recommended if you're doing well early on. If your ally falls before the third air reinforcements are used, should likely restart.

Gah, why does the saved games tab have a "save game" button next to your saved game, above "load game"? I just overwrote my game. I mean, I was probably gonna lose, but still really annoying.

For the gold star on lvl 1 you need a bit of luck. #1 Attack middle east with 5 armies from S. Europe. #2 Attack Ukraine with 4 armies and India with 4 armies. #3 attack Siam with as many armies as possible. You need to be lucky here that the enemy either doesnt attack Siam with all his armies or that you are the first one to attack. #4 Indonesia. #5 Split your armies in half: New Guinea and Western Australia. #6 Eastern Australia.

Really need to be able to change AI colors. I'm facing off against 2 of the same shade of orange and a lighter shade of orange.

@Tchoubi Thanks, great tips. How to finish the Level 1 with 6 or less move? seems impossible to me, I'd miss see something.

Another thing worth knowing is, enemy will flee from your big army so what you should do is bait him. Let a territory with 1 soldier and transfer a big amount of soldiers to it. The enemy will attack this territory for sure and lose a lot of soldiers because when defending you lose less soldiers.
So, TL; DR : take Spain then Italy while helping your ally with airlifts (and transfers from N Scotland to W Norway) with the army coming from SW England and France and Benelux with the army coming from SE england and bait the enemy a lot or circle him (this should be done turn 14), then, go East and destroy him.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Ariege There are multiple ways to beat the Europe challenge. You can either help your ally or let him die. I personally helped him (by sending airlift in Russia so the AI is busy dealing with his massive army and let me take Spain, Italy etc. Turn 15 I had all Spain, Italy, France, England, no airlift left and I won turn 23 (because I did some mistakes, could have win faster). What you have to do is to know there's a big 110 army in Sicily and you'll meet it turn 4.

The Europe challenge is so frustrating :'( I have no idea how to beat such an AI… I keep losing all my 120 reinforcements at once barely scratching the enemy! :(

while this is a very nice game indeed, it's kinda "unplayable" is such a small window. allowing full screen would really show this game full potential

I got to the very end and it wouldn't allow me to commit to my last actions. I'm so confused. So much for that badge of the day.

Three things to keep in mind: The order of attacks matter, defending kills more than attacking, and you only start with enough armies to work toward one bonus at a time.
