Why is it that when you wipe out a country they pop back up randomly taking over territories previously conquered even though they don't have any units left or territory to launch the attack from?

Good game, but here are some suggestion.
Maybe force windows to appear within the view area. It sometimes happens that windows will appear at the edgge of the screen, but you only the a third of it, and cant move it into view area.
And it is pretty annoying that when you want to capture an area from the left edge to the right edge, you click the country, then drag the map to the right, but then the country unselect itself...you have to try it a few times, til it works.
But still a very fun game

Okay, how come the German states are all given their correct German names? Not that I'm complaining far, from it, just wondering.

I don't know how this hasn't already been suggested, but online play would take this game to an exponentially greater level of awesome

Know what would make this game playable? Some kind of graphics, or sound effects, or you know things that make this game a game. Something other than stock music. Bland colors, clunky interface, bad ai, who the hell would want to play risk against a computer. Go get the board game and play it with some friends at least you have some kind of imagery in the form of pieces.

Either the Crazy Challenge Level is broken or you really hate us. The AI's are getting extra units to place for no reason and it makes it impossible to beat them. When you are stuck placing 5 units at a time until you capture enough territories and they are placing 11, there is no way to win!

Game completion is satisfying, but holy crap it takes forever!
Hey Dev (FizzerWL) Maybe force windows to appear within the view area? As it was kind of annoying to click on those far corner zones in the European map

You know the game is good when you spend 5-7 hours straight in front of it, loose track of time and don't want to stop. Similar to the Civilizations: "is it 4 in the morning already?"

Level one is possible with 6 or fewer. You just have to go directly for their continent and not worry about getting that +5 bonus for completing Europe.

@NewAge don't take ukraine on your first turn. head towards australia. then on your second turns split up your armies to take both the ukraine and advance towards australia. after that use all your armies to advance towards australia. good luck.

Yes, if you're wondering what all the hype is about and the early levels seem too easy/familiar, then this is the game for you. It keeps unfolding, each level is truly another level of complexity. It's not just about the gameplay, which of course takes its DNA from the classic, but about level design, and intelligently adding new features/elements to the mix. It's really well done!

4/5, only for one flaw: when issuing orders to attack or transfer, they clearly happen in the order you input them, and they let you type in numbers higher than are present in the territory at the time the order is given, yet will not execute the attack/transfer with the typed in number, even when the appropriate number is present at the time of the attack/transfer. For example, playing level number two, I had 2 armies in Brazil, 4 in North Africa, and 2 in Egypt. Tan had control of S. Europe. My command was: Transfer 1 army from Brazil to N. Africa (which would then have 5), transfer 4 armies from N. Africa to Egypt (which would then have 6), then attack S. Europe with 5 armies. The transfer from N. Africa to Egypt only transferred 3 armies, and the attack on S. Europe only was executed with a single army. This is fine, if this is the rule.... the downrating is for allowing the player to input a command that is then not executed.

It is turn 11 of the Europe challenge and my opponent has armies of 318 in NW France, 105 in N France, and 355 in W Norway. I've tried various strategies (build up my own armies, send reinforcements to Russia, vigorously attack France, Italy and the Iberian peninsula) but Europe seems unbeatable and not even a fun challenge (sweet! I have UK, France, Iberian...oh hello 675 troops in Norway and 400+ in Milan...). Also, when I'm defeated the game keeps going and I can add 5 troops per turn to my "reinforcements for airlift" armies...which can then go nowhere. I'd love either advice or acknowledgment that Europe is somehow buggy. Thanks. Great game otherwise 5/5.

Level 1 Gold Star – This requires beating the level in 6 or fewer turns. [Best so far: 7]
there's no way to do this one so you have to make this one 7 or fewer turns.
Or make it impossible.

Protip: On level one, go for the Middle East on the first turn, leaving an extra troop behind to aid in the attack on Ukraine next turn. 6 turn win.

Apparently the gold star on level one is impossible, my gold star for level one would disagree... Tactics people, tactics

It's a pain to try to move forces across the Pacific when the territory you select gets deselected after dragging the map. Couldn't you just have the entire map wrap around as you scroll?

lvl 1 Gold Star!!!!
It is not impossible, but your absolutely right that it is just luck once you have the strategy figured out

Europe is not hacked, I just beat it on the 24th turn to get the Gold star, im the 640th kongregate member to get this achievement.

I love this game. It's simple and fun! I would like to suggest, though, that it would be really helpful if the map could scroll in a circle, instead of just left to right. Sometimes it's hard to transfer troops from Japan to Hawaii!

Ok after all the attempts on Level 1 gold star I simply give up for now as I said in my last comment it's not based on skill or planning it's sheer dumb luck, not good for badges in my opinion. I'll happily live without that particular badge.
