Under rating threshold (show) Definitively there should be some odds and some as this way it`s pure AI mood. If he`s in good mood you`ll get teritory. If not, even though you`re attacking his territory which has 12 defendants you`ll loose - even though you attacked with 50 soldiers.... Definitively some odds like this it`s nail biting.

Under rating threshold (show) I love this game, thank you for this blessing. Only thing i want to know, though, is how AIs can afford to put all their armies in one country just to smash me to bits? Is it impossible for them to have more than one front?

Under rating threshold (show) You can play Warlight for free against other players over at warlight.net. It's more fun that way, give it a try if you exhaust the Kongregate solo version.

Under rating threshold (show) I wish this game wasn't so addicting, because the AI cheats constantly, as in, has armies that are mathematically impossible cheating.

Under rating threshold (show) My favorite aspect of the game is the ability to add the Fog of War in the custom games. You can't really do that with normal Risk the board game since all the players can see what's on the board in front of them. With careful play and fog of war you can make it so that the enemy never really knows how many troops you can deploy per turn and that alone can win many games.

Under rating threshold (show) Here's my reaction playing the game (so far): First level: lolwtf gold star requires me to restart over and over on my first turn... Second level: this game's just like Risk, no big deal (*Challenge Accepted*) Third level: Okay, get cards, same as Risk. Map is larger??? Holy moly... NOT RISK

Under rating threshold (show) *whistles longly and progressivly lower pitched* Very impressive, however, I recommend that if you do the custom game you try a few different add ons at a time, otherwise you'll be overwhelmed by the countless options. However, I do love how this includes nearly all aspects of true warfare. Well done sir, well done.

Under rating threshold (show) I agree with most people here, it is indeed a great game, challenging and well balanced. There are nonetheless a few issues i´d like to point out. In games in which there are allies, such as the Europe map, you can accidentally "lose" your troops, I mean, if you attack a country that was earlier in that turn attacked by your allie, those armies are lost to your allie. Perhaps in those cases it would be useful to have the option to cancel the attack . Or to retain the control of your troops, even when that country is owned by the AI. And another suggestion would be to be able to do multiple attacks in one turn (as it is possible in some Risk games), for example, to be able to attack Brazil from Africa and then Argentina with some of the remaining troops. Anyway, I really liked the game. Thank you very much and congratulations. 5/5.

+ - !

(2)

Developer response from FizzerWL

Such an option already exists! Just hit "advanced" and select "attack only" - that way, your armies will only attack, never transfer to an ally.

Under rating threshold (show) I've got 4 gold star now, however Crazy is really challenging, and 29 turn is just ridiculous. my strategy is splitting into small groups(3/4/5) and attacking as many tiles as u can. surrounding AI big army with small groups as well, so it can only win only 1 battle. Do not hoard or try to hold bottleneck, it's useless and causes unnecessary delay.

Under rating threshold (show) For Europe, this worked for me. Move all armies into S. England and then crush the baddies in N. France. Take about 130 into SW France and the rest can clear east and south until you hit the big enemy army in S. France. Use minimal units from your 130 to capture some of Spain. Keep strong numbers on the east and west and sucker him into attacking a weak unit in the middle. You should have an airlift card by now. Use it just before his predictable attack on your 'weak' territory and he'll slam into a crippling 120. Only deploy early armies in N. Scotland until you have 60+. The enemy should storm Norway allies and then clear a path in retreat. Follow at a safe distance to establish a northern front. Use a 3 prong attack, heavy on the flanks, and eventually airlift to ambush his big army.

Under rating threshold (show) I'm finding crazy mode near impossible. I guess the reason it's so hard is that with two warring factions each made up of 3 partners. Each side starts with triple what you have. Seems obvious enough to stay out of there way and grow off in the corner while they destroy each other, but much easier said than done. I find playing aggressively, defensively or even in the middle doesn't work. Someone above said you could win out of luck in this mode, but I don't even see how that's possible. I always wind up surrounded before I can control two territories. Any tips?

Under rating threshold (show) @ jim_vierling I dont think it was the intention to just copy risk. from my point of view it always was wierd that you owned areas behind enemy borders, and the other way. after turn 1 at original risk you could end up having practically just the area that u flooded with units, and with same start you could end up owning half the terretorries (exaggerated). this pretty much was never the case in history, thats why i like the chosen approach.

Under rating threshold (show) helpful strategy to overcome bigger opponent forces: encountering bigger opponent forces often results in bigger area losses. a cheap way to deal to it is to surround the bigger army with army sizes of 4-5-armies, letting each army "attack" the big one as 3rd or 4th action earliest. result is that (almost always) every area but one is still yours while you gathered a bigger group next to the big force. if nessecary repeat like that 2-5 times, and in the end the big army SHOULD be beatable.
