Wow. Just wow.
I've never seen a game with such a simple premise become so complicated, so quickly. Your risk-style gameplay combined with your use of a modern, accurate political map has brought to light the complexity of defending an empire. This could even become a learning tool in social studies, if one wished to prove a point.
I commend you, good sir.

Do the computer automatically spawn extra units than me? Because computers with one country randomly gain 50 units when I can at most get 30, and it beats me out.
The AI plays by the same rules you do. When the game is over, you can go back to that point in history and you'll be able to see the entire map. Then you can see exactly how they got their armies.

I love it. Only thing I'd like to see is more challenge maps like Europe was. Still a 5/5 for me. Wish I could go higher.

gwolf500.... get to learn the site before you post, they have to go throght the weekly / monthly challenges before games can get badges... stop ur + hungry posts plz... and how the heck do you defeat europe? they pull tripple digits in multiple countries out of nowhere...

THe game's an obvious adaptation of Risk but I have to say, I really would like to have some options like removing the fog of war from teh challenges. It is really hard when you don't know what your enemy is amassing. In the board game, you did.
You can play the levels without fog, but they'll be "unofficial" in that they won't count on the high scores and won't advance you to the next level. See http://wiki.warlight.net/index.php/Single-player_levels#Customizing

Very nice game well balanced and good AI. The Challenges are great, very hard and its good. It would be nice a campaign with increasing difficult levels on solo play.

I'd love to have the option to surrender. During the crazy and insane challenge it's quite easy to understand when you have lost and I'd rather surrender as soon as I find out then to wait untill I'm dead. I could of course just click "level select", but then I couldn't see statistics (and I need those to understand how well I'm doing wrt the computer). Also, I'd like to have the option to see the _first_ ten turns instead of the last ten. The scale gets messed up as soon as you consider all the turns and the first one are the most important ones.
There's a surrender button under Players. Not the most logical place, but at least it's there :) You can set Custom Range and type 1-10 to graph the first ten turns.

why are so many people complaining about lvl 3? it doesn't get hard till europe... finnally take a section then find tripple digits waiting for you at the border o.O

I love this game. Great job on adapting Risk, with all it's house rules, and making it better. I gotta say though, the challenge scenarios are really really hard. I've been trying to beat level 5 for days now. Can't do it!

Whats a good strategy for this game? I always seem to get gangbanged... so I was hoping that someone could post a good strategy up. Thanks guys

Stop complaining about it's semblance to Risk! What this man has done is digitalised the most awesome board game ever! Risk+internets=PWNAGE!
(6 out of 5)

love the roman map. more random time period maps would be sick, that one that's like a board game isn't the best though lol.

This game actually its a copy of a board game named WAR... i dont know if it exists on other countries, but in brazil its a pretty popular game!
You have to zoom out so that you can see both at the same time (zoom buttons are in the bottom right corner of the map). Or you can click one, then click More Info, then select the other from the list.

When I scroll my screen to send troops from Kamchatka to Alaska, the game deselects Kamchatka, please fix that ;)
Other than that, a pretty nice game, congratulations

Nice game, insane is insanely hard though... feels bugged when the opposing team puts down hundreds of units each turn while you have half the map... anyone beat it yet without cheating? Crazy is challenging enough. My thoughts... allow players to see every player's stats. Nice enough as a strategic hint, but won't destabilize the battles themselves. Also a nice way for us to see the AIs aren't actually cheating :P
When the game is over, you can go back in history and see behind the fog to prove they weren't cheating. On WarLight.net, you can customize the level to play without fog in an unofficial game (wins won't let you advance to the next level, but it's good practice)

Crazy challenge is way too hard. I must have tried it more than 20 times now using different strategies and starting on every different continent. Even when I get a good start and capture an entire continent I still get overrun by stacks of 40+ soldiers that seem to appear out of nowhere. Also it gets boring on this challenge because there is only the one 6 soldier reinforcement card to use, so your options are limited. After about turn 10, 6 soldiers are not enough to make a big enough difference anyway. I think the crazy challenge could use some adjustments to make it more fun (more cards available maybe?) and less frustrating. I can't imagine how painful the insane challenge is.

It would be very nice if there is a full screen mode where I can see the whole map without zoom. Thanks for the great game anyway.. 5 stars! :)

The first few levels were fun but then it becomes way too much of a pain. It feels like micro managing too much. Felt like more work than fun.

Third level AI behavior is odd. I've tried 3 a few times with different strategies but crushed by AI that can drop five times as many troops. Expanding quick=Fail, Slow build=Fail, Expand fast w/strong borders=Fail, Wipe out one enemy at a time while holding others off=Fail. Review history and find that AI don't seem to attack each other with aggression that I get attacked with until I'm dead. Sure they'll exchange and even get in large battles early but in mid-game all the huge deployments are aimed at me even with much easier targets. In last game I watched history of 2 AI sitting next to each other turn after turn with lightly guarded borders (no more than 4) & huge areas with 1 behind borders but AI both ignore that to focus on me. This might make sense if I massed troops against them but I focused on a third AI but did have double the troops on shared borders as they had with each other.

After dying on level 2 i found out that being passive ain't working :P
So after going 100% agressive the game is more fun :P
I would just like to say that denmark is part of scandinavia.
I can see why you put it in n.Europe, but its annoying :P XD
Good game, one of the better risk games ive plaid!

this is just like risk but it seems better for some resion... meh must be its more detaled then the board game or seems to be or it can be the ai that seem pretty hard or i just suck ether way 5/5 witch is weird i dont like risk, mostly because some one ends up thowing the board acrosed the room.

it would be great if the other countries fought each other during crazy.....that way they just dont eat up all of their surrounding areas then come at you with huge numbers.

My saved games don't seem to be working. I have one for level 2, but it shows as completed. Any other time I save a game, it doesn't show up.

I realized this was a great game when I found myself throwing my fist in the air and yelling "YES!!!! F**K YOU!!" at the computer when I took over Greenland.
