Under rating threshold (show) Man, this game rocks. I love laying down 3 man troops and conquering places with only one defender. Doing that makes things so much easier to conquer.

Under rating threshold (show) My Screen is too small so I can't select attacking around the world. Otherwise great game.

You have to zoom out so that you can see both at the same time (zoom buttons are in the bottom right corner of the map).

Under rating threshold (show) Without a doubt the BEST stragity game I have ever played on kongregate, EVER. I have waited for years for a game like this to come about. Finally my wishes have been granted. Those hours of searching internet games that gives downloads do not even compare to this game. I could talk for hours about how awesome this game is and how much I like it. But then I woulden't be playing it. Back to conquering the world...!

Under rating threshold (show) maybe if we got a number of troops when you get a certain amount of territories(5 everytime -> +1 5 territories -> +2 10 territories etc...) would be great

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from FizzerWL

You can enable this in custom games. Go to the Army Settings tab and look for "Give extra armies for territories"

Under rating threshold (show) If you want to move troops from the Russian part connecting to Alaska to Alaska itself you can't- everytime you shift the screen the territory's deselected. You can invade or attack Alaska from there, but not transfer. You can't click on the arrow leading to Alaska either. Also, what's the order in which territories invade, capture, transfer, etc.? I had a situation set up where all of my troops could surround and destroy one territory, thus winning the game, but before any of them moved the computer transferred troops to an unoccupied territory and saved being hit by the blunt of my attack.

+ - !

(-2)

Developer response from FizzerWL

You have to zoom out so that you can see both at the same time (zoom buttons are in the bottom right corner of the map). I agree this is a rough spot - this is something I need to improve. As for the attack order, it's random who gets first move each turn, so you have a 50% chance you'll get first attack.

Under rating threshold (show) My only complaint is that there is no "hotseat" option. Other than that, it looks awesome.

+ - !

(1)

Developer response from FizzerWL

You can sort of simulate hotseat if you go to WarLight.net, create two accounts, open each of them in different browsers, and then join the same multi-player game. Not perfect, but it works.

Under rating threshold (show) Interface and reconceptualization of an old idea were great... Except.... I lost interest after level 3 because you can't take a territory in one turn and then attack again from there. Without this ability you lose the only charm the original Risk had. All you need to do to defend is make sure you take all the territories one past the border you want to protect. This significantly decreases the strategy IMO.

+ - !

(1)

Developer response from FizzerWL

You can take many territories as you describe if you enable multi-attack in a custom game. It's just that the six built-in levels don't use multi-attack, but you can make your own levels that do.

Under rating threshold (show) So, moves/commands from each turn are executed in the order in which the player(s) make(s) them? As opposed to "all commands by one player are executed, and then all commands from an AI player are executed, and so on." If former is indeed the case, then I think that should be mentioned (or perhaps made a little more clear) as that has a profound impact on the strategies involved. Either way, I appreciate the response and the information. It certainly has an impact on the gameplay.

+ - !

(1)

Developer response from FizzerWL

Correct - your orders are interleaved with all of the other player's orders. If watch the turns instead of skipping them it should be more clear what's happening. The second link under the Help menu has a complete explanation of how everything works if you want to learn all of the details.

Under rating threshold (show) Love it!!!! Somehow you made it so far better then risk. The only thing is that the 'dialog windows' keep appearing outside the screen when clicking a country near the edge. Sometimes so far out that you can get to it with the cursor

+ - !

(4)

Developer response from FizzerWL

The attack dialog pops up so that your mouse cursor is over the 'okay' button, this allows for double-clicking when you just want to attack with all armies, which is what you want most of the time. When you need to adjust something, you can drag it back onto the map.

Under rating threshold (show) Personally, I was thoroughly enjoying this game up until i realized there's - what I consider to be - a "flaw" in the rules. If I'm attacking from one region to another with my entire army, the defeated army should not be able to attack *through* my invading army, and conquer the region I'm attacking from. Now, it can be argued that this should be allowable, but for me personally, it's maddeningly frustrating to sit there and simply swap the same two territories over and over again, until you're able to get it completely surrounded with far more troops than you need, just to make sure the defeated army doesn't squirt out somewhere else. It simply isn't fun to chase an enemy army around in circles for 15 turns. Sorry. Not how I prefer to spend my time. Change that rule though, and this is easily a 5-star game.

+ - !

(1)

Developer response from FizzerWL

If you watch the turn, I think you'll get a better understanding of what's going on. The person who's attack happens first often is at a disadvantage - try to execute the attack really late in your turn, and you'll come out on top.

Under rating threshold (show) Okay, just one major flaw as I see it: on the level 3 world map, it's not uncommon for one guy to spawn in the western hemisphere alone. That guy is virtually guaranteed to win if he doesn't play like a total idiot or get horribly unlucky in combats because of the the fact that North America provides a large income and it's very easy to control the choke points. Even if someone were to start in South America (with a guy in North America), they are virtually no threat because South America only has 4 income for the entire 8 territory area; that guy is better off relocating to Africa or something. Meanwhile, the other three players will be killing each other to try to make a decent income in Eurasia, so eventually the guy who holds the Americas will be snowballing over them with 90 army groups.

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from FizzerWL

Level 3 and the Crazy challenge are the two levels with random start points, and there is luck involved. It's possible to win from any configuration but some are harder than others. You can start the level over a few times to get a start you like.

Under rating threshold (show) Its a nice game, but what ruined it for me is how you placed the geography of Canada. Being Canadian, your equivalent would be like me labelling Texas as Florida. It is *Northwest Territories*, and you actually labelled Manitoba and Alberta as Ontario and British Colombia as Alberta. :(
