Ok, the third mission is extremely difficult, but I found a good strategy after failing so many times. The strategy is not to conquer the whole world as fast as possible, it is to draw out the enemies troops, while you build up your own forces. (Get at least 5 troops in every territory so the enemies can't build up 20+ troops in 1 round, while you have at least 3 different territories and you are building up those 20+ troops) This will help you ALOT, because otherwise, the enemy will wipe your troops out like their nothing. --Thumbs up so people can see this tip--

3 quick questions:
Is the "INSANE"-map doable, or is it mathematicly impossible?
What's the gold star limit on the Crazy map? i did it in 36 and was hoping it was good enough:(
How do i make computers team up against me in custom map? Only get FFA-games that are easy :P
Insane is beatable, but it is indeed very difficult. You can see the star requirements by hovering over the star on the main menu, Crazy is 29. To create teams in custom games, right after picking the map there's a drop-down at the top where you can change it from No Teams to Manual Teams.

@skitszo Part 2: Your airlifts will all probably end up going directly to your ally, with the first 60 armies or so put into Sweden. Your ally is much more helpful if he can keep Norway/Sweden. Later on, try to donate your airlifts accurately in Russia to surprise and devastate the big enemy armies. In general, you have to be opportunistic on this map. If you have to lose 2 bonus armies to take away 5 from the enemy, do it. But make sure to keep inching horizontally across the map so that when you do get the final advantage, you can take everything over in as few turns as possible. (Those Cyprus islands are really far away, believe me.) If all goes well, you should be able to beat the challenge without ever having to control anything in Russia. Surely somebody will have a different strategy, but I've beaten it this way a few times in as few as 18 turns. Good luck!

@skitszo Part 1: Here's how I've started the times that I've beaten it. On the very first turn, don't attack. Instead, retreat your big armies evenly to Midlands and Wales. Transfer them back to SE and SW England on the second turn. This should eliminate the first two big enemy armies. For the first half dozen turns or so, put all of your new armies on N Scotland and transfer them to your ally once he is about to lose the Norway bonus (And probably for a few more turns after that.) With your two big armies, send one along the France/Germany/Switz border and the other south towards Spain (watch out for the big army!). Your goal is to cost the enemy some armies and generally cause chaos until you can see an advantage and start taking bonuses of your own. (Benelux) After the second turn, try not to take on any of his big armies directly; wait until he splits them up. Continued....

This is a great game, Its fun to play, and with the custom maps, you can easily adjust it to you standered difficulty. I was wondering if you could add another 'You' player to the custom teams, allowing you to play with a friend, or against yourself(testing different stratigies)
5/5

An in-depth review brought to you by insomnia:
Concept: You've taken risk, streamlined it, and added your own twists. Nothing shockingly new though. 0.5/1
Mechanics: A few minor hiccoughs which can be blaimed more on my braindumb than anything else. 1/1
Visuals: Certainly nothing to write home about but also not hidious. 0.5/1
Audio: Simple, elegant music. Sound effects are pleasant and used sparingly. 1/1
Fun: May not have had me grinning ear to ear, but it also didn't make me hate playing. Which is more than I can say for many of casual games. 1/1
Overview: Not exactly mind boggling awesome, though I admit this is hardly my typical style of game. No bugs, no obnoxious cutscenes, nothing negitive about the game in general. My only real suggestion would be to consider collaborating with someone for more striking visuals. At a total of 4/5 this ranks higher than all but a select few in my books. Congrats on a well rounded game.

great game, but if i was to suggest one thing, it would be a unit cap. on the Europe level I keep getting destroyed when the enemy makes a stack of almost 300 units and not only kills my ally, but hits me from behind. Not a major cap, understand, just maybe, 150? because from my experience, every time I manage a stack of about 200+ It becomes unstoppable. Other than that, It is a fun, addicting game. (I just don't know which is harder: baby-sitting a friendly AI or fighting 2 teams of 2 at once, I have yet to finish either.)

Just too stupid hard to care about. It's a great game when you are playing risk. It's retarded playing against enemy computers in unshakeable alliances.

insane is not (only) about what you do but is about what they do.
I tried many times, in one game i had an income of 71 tank per turn at turn 7 but the AIS attacked me in 50 from 5 sides at turn 9.
So the key to beat insane is simple : try until they blocks each others bonuses.
The only time i Had a chance ( but forget to abandon northern svambald) was because they attached in small amount
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
anyone have tips for insane? I have a gold star on the other 5...but I keep getting invaded from the north on insane, and its just way too much to stop.

@helltank I disagree. Speed and chaos are often quite effective in this game. In the Europe Challenge, for example, your first goal should be to disrupt your enemy as much as possible by racing through and killing his army bonuses. Not only will he get less armies, but he'll spend more of them trying to get the bonuses back instead of taking over your ally.

The key to this game is to not bite off more than you can chew. Quickly conquer your first continent and heavily fortify the territories that the continent you control can be attacked from. Keep doing this until you have a crazy amount of armies at the attack point territories, then slowly, very slowly, start to spread. Make sure that at any given point of time you can defend all your territories well.

At last! the hard badge is mine <3 I completed the crazy challenge aswell... but insane earns his title, wave after wave of 100 armies :/
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It's very possible to beat level 3 and even get a gold star. You just have to take time to understand the game mechanics and some basic strategy. The insane challenge, on the other hand, is very difficult.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
level three is impossible to complete as all other factions have infinate armys, there is no solution, as the other factions are taking ONLY the human player out, something tells me that's how the programme was written, Started off as a great game... but level 3? Forget it
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
To anybody desperately wanting to beat the challenges, I have two tips. 1. You can save at the beginning of your turn and the computer will always do the same thing when you open your game again. 2. Once you've started to use the first tip, realize that defending before attacking from the same territory uses a lot fewer armies than simply trying to overwhelm with attacks. Timing is key.

I found level 3 really hard. I tried it again and again, and after about 12 goes I beat it. Now I can beat it most of the time, and I've managed to get the hard badge. Hang in there, and try different approaches :)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Europe map in less than 22 turns... 22 turns to conquer something like 200 territories... maybe more. U have to know exactly when your ally is going to conquer/lose a land... Just TOO bothersome.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
third mission is just so frustrating. theres so many factions and somehow they all try to break ur lines. its good game, but this level just is too hard for me. :/

Apart from the annoying tendancy for my opponant to retreat into the Australian outback whenever I defeated them as if we were in a Mad Max movie instead of a game of risk, this was very enjoyable.

Can't understand how we can win "Crazy " level. After very good starts (controlling 3 or 4 territories, having 20 army per turn), you are sudenly attacked by 2 or 3 simultaneous opposents, whith some 20 or 30 level armies... how is it possible to defend while you know that having these territories implies to maintain a godd level of defense on all front ???
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Some improvements: Mouse over a territory and highlight connecting territory during add troop phase. The troop transfer box should always be center stage. It's a reverse convenience since I have to drag it before I see the details.

Stupid game. You have to do the same shit over and over in hopes that due to some random mechanic your move turns out the way you want it to. 1/5

Europe was no problem for me, but Crazy.... it's... errr.... crazy. The jump in skills between Europe and Crazy is friggen huge. I wish it was a little smaller. // Also someone mentioned Killed/Lost numbers seeming off. They seem off to me too. Haven't paid attention to whether is't a battle calculation thing or what. Really nice game. Thank you.

Well, i didn't found Europe as hard as you CrAzYeDdY, but i will try to help. My main advice is to send airlifts to your teammate, not yourself, I usually put first one into Scandinavia - it help to protect England and AI starts to gain parts of cards since then too, which helps to beat lvl faster. I suggest to put your first main assault into southern France, where you will meet big army (around 100). Every turn try to attack each 1 with your 2 army, deploy new troops in whole wide of front line. It help to break quicker and lower Germans income.

I've just now realized that you need to beat Insane in 35 turns for the gold star. I am no longer pleased with my earlier 36 turn completion. :-(
