needs an item that repairs 1 or more of your parts at once, it has a long cool-down but can be destroyed too so you should keep it near your core

@camo5 Yeah, I realized that its 10 of each type of part (Skill, Spawns, weapons, Passive)
And a suggestion to Flashbacker:
Have us be able to save our configurations and play as them later in time.
Only as OUR configurations, though.

@duderocks18 there is no way to avoid that. flashbacker explicitly added that to his first update, since people were getting past it by: placing a part, then moving a different part, and voila, instant upgrade. if you check the first 500 or so pages you will find all the "titan" commanders made before that update.

TIP:
When you are fighting other commanders in dogfighting (challenge mode, or any other mission/mode), have a Retreat skill. This fully repairs your ship.

@romstat: youre not alone. it killed me too when he implemented that about 3 months after first publishing the game. the last 100 pages have all the commanders that were made during that time.

I don't like the ship value restriction, it kinda kills it for me, i would also like to see tractor beam upgrades (distance/multiple beams)

...i played this game on another site...i had finished the game...it had like 23000 on its shell and like 10000 on its core...i am SO mad right now!i cant show it off! its huge! its all bulky and only has like 15 speed! it pwns enemy commanders on every lvl in like 30 secs

The challenges are kinda infuriating. I can sit there, hammering away at a turret, for a full minute before it blows up.
