Manged to find the answer myself: "When you finish the game there will be a new button under Settings to play the game in Hardcore mode."

Stuck trying to get the purple skull for floor 30 and can't seem to find the missing torches to light all the ones for floor 22

feel hard badge is harder and close to impossible than closer to hard, you have to do certain moves, kills since farming isn't useful, isn't worthit kill mobs you already killed
pretty sure most followed a guide, same as i'd

Maybe a silly question but how do I start HC mode? I can only "Restart normal game". Or do I have to finish normal first? Thanks!

I'm pretty sure my game is bugged. I see people giving the locations of all hidden skulls, and I've gotten all those. I still lack a purple skull. Literally walking through every single level again and not seeing anything left to do or get....... Very frustrating...

So frustrated... please someone tell me where the last purple skull is... I've gone through the entire dungeon multiple times. I don't see any breakable walls, any doors I haven't opened, or anything. I have the fancy sword, I killed the fire and got that red skull, I just can't find the last purple one. Please send help......

I hate that you get to what "should" be the end, but it makes you go back. The level at the top should let you know how far you are into the game, and how much time you have left. Essentially, I was looking forward to being finished, and then got told "nope, you still have a good ways to go, and I'm not going to tell you how long of a ways it is". Made me want to give up.

I wish there was a stat saying what percentage of a stage you have completed, so you would know if you have missed a torch or collectable somewhere.

Wait, I just figured out how to get bonus EXP in Hardcore mode. Kill enemies you already killed, but only those that match your level or higher. For example, at level 2, mice and bats will only give you 10 EXP if you haven't killed it yet, and none if you did, but spiders and slimes will still give you 1 EXP if you already killed it.

@BlackHuron you need to lit the unlit torches scattered throughout the whole cave. The last one is pretty far though ;)

Good dungeon game with a twist: it focuses more to the puzzle-side of typical dungeon games. But right now I only have 3 endings (minus the hardcore ending--still figuring how to get it), but still, this deserves a 6/5. On a side note, while I was stuck when trying to complete the game on Hardcore mode, I did a "no-potions" run that causes me to rack up to 54 potions at the end. Obviously I died a lot in this run. (and yes, on normal mode, otherwise someone else would yell "Wait, that's illegal" at me lol if I did it on Hardcore mode)

You can softlock your game by forgetting to grab two golden keys near the beggining. Dont be like me and do this on your good ending/Hardcore ending run

The annoying part is that every time I died, I still had potions in my inventory. Alas, denied a better ending out because of carelessness.

Stuck...I reached the top, found the pickaxe, now am on level -4, cannot figure how to get to the tile with the boots/stairs.

If you don't open that door on the right on floor 31 right away you WILL get stuck. You can use up all your keys and be left with zero silver keys and 2 gold. Your two gold are for a door that gives two silver and the floor one door. However, you'll be left with 2 silver doors. The one for the pick and the one that you need to open (floor 31) just to get to the gold door! So I am perma stuck.

Just for fun, I wanted to see how many keys I can have left at the end on normal. It's 36 (37 if you abuse the glitch on level 6). And I reckon you can have about 30 potions left :P

The masochist in me wants an impossible badge for finishing hardcore without warping to checkpoints (I haven't done it, but others say they have so it must be possible). Maybe make a version with all checkpoints removed? (Just fix the glitch on level 6.)

Tip for hardcore: For the last 15 floors don't worry about the skulls, just get to f45. Meaning level up enough and get enough potions to kill those ghosts directly in your way on f43 and f44. There are 7 of them (5 on 43, 2 on 44) - these are the only ghosts you should kill. Light the torch on f45. Don't worry about the pickaxe. Warp to a checkpoint. If you lit every torch so far, go to f22 (you need a silver key if you haven't unlocked the door) and get the magic sword, then grind until you max your level. If you forgot some torches, light them at your leisure - the only mob that can hurt you now is the vampire on f39 on your way to the torch on f42 (so it's better to do the torch on f42 on your way up to f45 - you need to kill one priest). When maxed, go get the skull(s) you're missing, go to f46, get the pickaxe (you need a silver key) and do the rest. Flame does 5.5 hearts' worth of damage, so manage hearts and potions accordingly.

General tip: The game only saves when you move floors, so if you do something stupid and realise it before moving floors, as long as you don't mind being warped to a checkpoint, just close the game and come back to undo. Tip for the magic sword: There are 4 unlit torches in each 15-level section. Specifically, light the torches on floors 3, 7, 13, 14, 17, 21, 27, 29, 35, 38, 42 and 45. Then you can get the sword.

Loved it, 5/5. Suggestions: When you get the good ending, you should be rewarded with a map of all areas (without the secrets). This would be both an incentive to get the good ending and an aid for hardcore mode (so we can focus on the puzzle element and not on memorisation). Also, on the final screen for hardcore, the text hides the picture, maybe change the arrangement a little so we can see the background? Finally, this game sort of feels like it should have music :)

I got the good ending and the hardcore ending, but not the bad ending (not because I'm a genius or anything, it's just that I would restart whenever I was about to be killed :P). I see some people complain that they have just reached the good ending and can't be bothered to get the bad. I notice that the magic sword doesn't kill the flame, so maybe you can try going back to the flame and getting killed and then going to the exit again? I haven't tried it myself yet, but it might work.

Hardcore mode is a fun and interesting challenge, but the penalty for losing is much too extreme. I've lost a half hour's worth of play several times due to a misfire. It would be nice to add a "save game" option, or an "undo" button, so that we don't have to start back at square 1 every time.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I enjoyed the game a lot more than I was expecting, a simple run through is standard dungeon RPG but the hardcore mode definitely adds a lot more of a puzzle element. Only complaint is number of times I died by accidentally attacking with 1HP when I still had potions. It would be nice to add a pop-up in instances like that saying: "Attacking will cause death, are you sure you want to attack" or something to that effect. Overall still solid game

Pretty good game, well made, tbh I read the comment by accident but kept on playing through the 1st time in bad ending. The purple skull took me a while to scan from the top tower and seeking floor with missing pattern/not square.

so, if I already finished with 0 deaths, do I have to go back and do it all over again in hardcore mode to get the hardcore badge?
