Black must have been totally ruined in the runup to this game - the entire board except a pawn and knight exchanged for nothing

This game fully explores its play space and doesn't over linger. It's hard not to want more, even if there's nothing more for the concept to give.

Awesome stuff. Rare a game gets me to think outside of my norms. Maybe a replay button for when you complete the game so you can get back into it? Keep it up!

Two knights fight, but both playing perfectly leaves no winner or loser. But a gap in the board allows a victor. I like that.

Fantastic little game. Creative, clever, fun, and more. My only criticism is the visuals at the end, with the black pawn. It was not entirely clear to me that that piece with some pink thing on the top of it I later realized was a heart (and still don't know why it was on the piece), was, in fact, a black pawn, especially because it seemed to change color from black to white as it moved, which was a bit confusing. Still, I rarely rate a game 5/5 stars, but this one deserves it. Well done!

This is a clever little game, a bit short but really fun. Excellent concept, how did you come up with it?
The only small criticism I have is the controls. You have to click exactly within a square tile to move. It would be better (imho) if the game checks which possible tile is the closest to the click position, and then just make the move (if you clicked significantly close enough).

I don't know whats with all these random chess games being made but this is probably my favorite one. It's pretty simple, and it has fun puzzles. Pretty cool.

That was a great little game. Manoeuvring enemy pieces into capturable positions was tricky but fun, and the two 'false' paths before the final battle illustrate how powerful a Queen really is. 5/5, would play again.

Ending is a little bit not satisfying enough. Too few pawns in last scene. I didn't feel I was helped by a big group of people. Neither the saved king walk step by step getting closer and closer to the evil king and put the dagger or whatever in to its throat. But game is great.

In the boss battle I was expecting to fork the queen and the king. :-) Instead the king was hiding in the corner where I couldn't attack him, and the queen effectively let herself get captured because she would always move towards me and I have moved to an inaccessible square.

By the way, I managed to capture the king without any of the pawns at the end. It just reset back as if I had been captured. I was able to do it by beating the queen, then going all the way back up and around. Then went back to the final area again. That way the king was to the left instead of stuck in the right area. I did that because like an idiot, I didn't realize what direction the white pawns were facing and thought they went up. It I just figured after beating the king I would unlock a space that would let me capture the pawn then. At least in the end I figured it out, but I will admit I was not thrilled when I beat the king and it just reset.

I love the idea of removing the Pawn barrier to help your Queen out so she can beat the opponent's King. Very clever puzzler.

Nice concept but boring when after 10 minutes of playing the game just seems to go on forever and you don't feel any sense of progress other than exploring a possibly endless maze.

I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do next... I killed the Queen, the pawn in the V formation, then the female pawn upgraded to queen and killed the other king... and now it just pings back and forth over and over on the 2 squares on the top right. I can't touch it, it won't collide with me, and if I move onto the square it would move on it just sidesteps downwards 1 and moves back once I move away. The boss music is still playing.

Fantastic game. The music paired really well with it, and it was pretty difficult. I still don't know how I defeated the bishops.

Thoroughly impressed! Yo can practically flesh out a story just from that small intro and the eventual battles you fight. That last battle itself was setup perfectly, with just the right amount of suspense. And great music choices to boot! 5/5

As a kid I always loved playing around with how knights could move, and this game perfectly applies it in a creative way that is interesting and not frustratingly difficult. And bravo on making chess boss fights work at all, let alone so fluidly.
Sure! We used two pieces by the amazing Kevin MacLeod (a.k.a.: Incompetech): "Leaving Home" and "Division".

Although not unique, it's a pretty great puzzle game and it got interesting once the bosses got into the mix. My only gripe is how everything looks the same there only being a sky and floating checkboard pieces. I end up going around in circles so much and missing possible forks in the road.

not sure if bug. i killed queen, free'd the pawn, and got myself killed trying to get the king while waiting for pawn to move across board. fight reset. after 3 or 4 moves, i see a new ally queen coming from pawn princess direction move up then right killing the king

Fantastic and clever. The music was probably where you went from 4/5 to 5/5, it somehow added an epic feel to what was otherwise simple gameplay. Quick to complete but the ending is spot on.
