Also, couldn't fit it in the previous comment: The game needs a pause button, seriously, it's so infuriating knowing that they'll be fighting on their own if I don't close the tab. And, finally, the forces of darkness are way too caricaturesquely evil, maybe if the game made being the bad guy fun, or if the good guys seemed like uptight pansies there would be a reason to choose darkness or even balance, but as it is, seriously, darkness cops search for medicine but allow slaves to enter... It's just so campy, they might as well be called "we strangle kitties and eat babies inc."

Loved the game, 5/5, however... Here's my list of nitpicks: Does it even have an end? I've tried pushing the forces of darkness back but I can't seem to attack the main planet no matter what (I'm guessing that option unlocks after it's the last planet they control) and the whole buying-selling products of light gets real repetitive real fast (also everyone's out of medicine to buy, and art too, god damn do they take some time to refill their stock), secondly, god damn does grinding pay off in this game, I don't even have the quadruple gauss and already I'm twoshotting everything and never getting hurt, with no challenge it really feels boring on late game, oh and it also makes you wonder why the **** anyone tries to attack you, and why the forces of darkness ha chance.

Finally finished it as a Light merchant. 5/5 because it's in SPAAAACE! Seriously, I mean it--it's a great game, but it would be 4/5 if I weren't so obsessed with space.
I love that you get to customize your ship, I love the storyline (even if it's oversimplified: if you establish that one side is "good" and the other is "evil", why would the player want to choose Darkness, other than the curiosity of seeing what happens?), I even like the planets' names, and I especially love the fact that this game, unlike many of its kind, is simple enough to be relaxing and not feel like a chore.
However, I find that the combat goes from feeling impossible (it took me some time to get the hang of the defensive part) to feeling too easy, and going back and forth from planet to planet was a bit repetitive after a while.
Still, don't get me wrong, I LOVED this. I would have squee'd even harder if you had the chance to name your character as well as choose the alignment and class.

It is a great game, though I believe that the stander laser should be cut, it is seriously overpowered and too deadly you don't even have to change until the end game. - noted that in current stage there are no such thing called Stronger enemy. Cargo pod are useless now since most of other parts offer increase in cargo plus the fact that all planed have a limit of production and purchasing power, there really shouldn't be a limit, can't believe one ship can empty the will of a whole planet to buy a certain good or buy out a certain good from a planet - man that's a planet, not city. Good game after all, keep going.

Oh, and one minor bug, apart from the occasional save desynchronisation. When you investigate a wreck and are ambushed by pirates, you never get to see the loot screen with what items you found - I think the 'pirates attack' screen covers it up.

First of all, awesome game. The visuals and gameplay are both sparse, but brilliantly put together and give everything that the game needs to be fun and engaging. Bit stuck on completing the game with the Balanced faction, though. I've completed all the trade missions, done a couple of dark & light missions that cropped up, converted ALL planets bar the light and dark homeworlds to 50-50 alignment and I'm avoiding giving the dark cube to either side. Don't see what else to do, though. Have I 'won'?

I once went to Naxi with illegal goods, but a police patrol showed up, so I had to backtrack...to Shroud, where another police patrol cam up, and I backtracked AGAIN, back to Naxi. One trip, 1000 xp for balance. Best deal ever.

I last played this game several months ago, and then I decided to come back and try another route. Imagine my surprise at seeing not only my old, completed save, but it says it updated when I logged onto Kong today! That's a pretty sweet save system. 5/5

very nice game! but if we could filter the mission (specially, if i could not see the merchant mission, maybe putting a check-box) it would great

Regardless of the bugs, this game was the best I have played for a long time. My suggestions would be as follows + if you agree
1 Option to skip tutorial
2 Option to skip flight and landing video (after say 20 times)
3 Fix the New Game/Save Game (is a bug causing old game to startup)
4 Perhaps identifier for Main Quests
5 Require side quests progression/ship upgrade before main quest progression
6 I like the planet specific trade goods, but didn't refresh, also only 10/item on each planet?
7 Increase frequency/difficulty of pirates/raiders as you play/the main quest progresses
8 Would be cool if status on planet gave you perk (eg better trades)
I think the difficulty needs to be increased. Main quest was too easy and too quick. (I completed with lvl 1 gun, 1 basic fuel cell, lvl 2 cockpit, lvl 2 life, lvl 2 eng. I liked the upgrade-abilty of the ship and would have liked to upgrade to best gear).
Look forward to whatever changes you make. Love your work

Great update, but the saving system seems absolutely broken now. Desynchronization is happening WAY too often (4 resets per hour is absolutely ridiculous). Still a great game if you're patient.

For those not in the know, if you look at FremenCorp's profile you can see that he's been repeatedly playing "Starrunner-DEV". So it looks like there's a sequel under development.

Star Runner Genesis looks promosing, but the combat is bugged. After the battle in the tutorial, in each subsequent battle nothing happens. I can fly away, but not actually engage the enemy.

Wow, a responsive dev group. admirable. My laptop had a major issue with this game the first time round, but this time it's fine.

Wow. This game is surprisingly good and also quite detailed and deep for what I thought was one of them browser type games. Kudos to the devs, Kong needs more works like this!

I am back playing this game again, months after I tried it. Very good re-play value, and I would absolutely pay money to play an expanded version of this game on Steam. My only major comment is that it would be nice to be able to skip out of the tutorial once you've played the game.

How do you change a planets alliance, and how do you properly be a warrior? i just go from pirate shelter to pirate shelter.

Great game, but, can we have more then one save files? I want to be a trader and a warrior and I can only be one which annoyed me. :(
Hi fireballdacow, thank you for your feedback. We are actually working to improve the saves files. We are modifying the system to try to make it possible but unfortunately, it's not an easy task. We'll keep you and the community informed about it. Cheers !

The game is fun, well-made, but unfortunately broken.
The combat works, but the merchant, non-hostile gameplay doesn't. First off, you need to be able to sell seemingly several dozen Light-side goods to influence a planet as much as a single fight would (+25 affiliation). And how do these goods restock? They seemingly only restock when a planet changes hands... That causes all sorts of problems, like the capital planet not having anything to sell, and not wanting anything, because I bought some stuff out of it in the early game and sold some stuff to it also in the early game. So... buying and selling is bugged.
Also, I tried doing the final mission, but failed (just!). My guns heated up too much, and the enemy got lucky. I got a message saying "the dark champion is too strong! we must make new plans and try again!". I clicked "Okay".... and got the same message again. And again. Since it's a loop, I could never get back to the game proper, so yeah. The final mission is bugged. :D

Nice background, different finishes, varied and colorful universe, interesting and creative side quests, entertaining system customization and innovative combat system. Wonderful job Developers!! really enjoy the experience
