TehLegend: At a guess, I'd say you're probably not getting it right the way through the hole. It had to pass the central point of the gate. As in, through an imaginary line from the top of the gate down towards the center of the planet.

I'm getting alot of times when it's not counting what I did. I had 4 hole in ones then got 2 more hole in ones but it didn't count either of them. Another time i got 3.5k putt but it didn't count it for anything.

I don't know how precisely the formula for calculating the trajectory has been used here... but I am getting some seemingly obvious "stuff ups" by this game's physics engine... some things that should be obvious to a child who knows nothing of orbital mathematics, often don't seem to apply here... idk what that's about...

Are you treating the planets as points or discs? If you are treating them as points it could explain why i get some funny behavior when a small planet is by a big one, where the ball tends to the small planet rather than the big one. The mass of the planet is spread out among the area, not all at the center. Besides that, very enjoyable game. Well Done.

I don't know how you computed the new mass of the planets in v1.1, but I think it would be logical if you related the mass to the radius linearly, as in 2*pi*r, the area of the cross-section, as a direct alternative to the pi*r*r (volume) that I presume you were using before the update. I like the logic of this, since it's a 2D game... the planet is actually just flat, like a coin, and it'll be weighed that way.
I love this game! I'm still working on the last two gold metals, and I've resigned all hope at the platinums, but it's a really great game. 5*

Yeah, ultimately, no matter how good your game is, there will always be people who don't like it. Glad I've got my head round this now, because at first I found it quite hard to take the bad comments!

I see your point. Goes back to your Newtonian physics and balancing real world with game playability. And it doesn't matter what you choose, 50% will like it and 50% won't :)

I have thought about this before. If we could travel to other planets (as in commerically), you might say to someone "Have you ever visited Jupiter?". You'd never ask "Have you been close to Jupiter?". I don't know... to be honest I don't really want to start changing functionality and features at this late point. But Gravitee 2, which is planned for dev sometime early next year, will include orbit related achievements (probably... haven't planned out all aspects of it yet, but its an idea I like!)

FP, something I think would be valuable is having an "orbit" (within a certain distance) count for a planet visit. Makes it a little more natural to get that achievement during gameplay than going back later and bouncing off all the planets.

So close to being a perfect game. Excellent concept just short of excellent execution.
Going for the badges requires either being able to quit the course in fewer clicks or being able to reset the hole without quitting the entire course. Either way getting back to the beginning of the course takes far too long. Also, does everything need to be announced with huge words across the screen?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Ah right... I see... you actually need to complete the round to have the achievements saved. It does actually say that when you quit the round. :) It doesn't really feel right to me to save achievements if you abort the round.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
yes I hit the planet and i finish the hole, after I abort the "master cup" and in the achievements i have 340 planet and all unlocked but when I refresh o reload the game the planet is again 339 and the hole-in-one "overlay" is blocked. however the hard badge is no working. p.s. thank for interest funkypear!

cyberpanda - did you go right through to the end of round screen? Thats when the data is saved. If you hit it them refresh then it won't save. Let me know!
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i've version 1.4 but the planet
in the master cup, hole 3, is
unvisitable for me. when i refresh the
window that planet became unvisited again! (and the hard badge is not working...)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Unvisitable planet bug sorted. On the main menu screen, it should show v1.4 under the logo. If not, refresh until it shows! :)

My missing planet ended up being Masters Cup, Hole 3, Top Left - HOWEVER, it won't stick no matter what I do to get it. It checks off green, then as soon as I'm done with the round, goes back to a red x. Frustrating!

So close... 9988km putt on Hole 6 of GH Cup. Bounced just a hair over the goal. Crap! But, what are the chances of that putt making it that close anyway :)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
wait, I just had all planets visited and now it is saying I missed one that wasn't even my last planet to be visited, I visited it, finished the hole, and left the course, but nothing
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Yes, yes it does. What would possibly make an Acer different in that respect? All you need is a decent operating system - or even a less than decent: Windows!
