distance affects gravitational attraction a lot more than mass. If you putt even the slightest bit closer to a star when two planets are the same size it will go in. If you putt directly at a heavy planet the ball will bounce around wildly and hit the other nearbye body masses no matter how small they may be. So try to bring this into consideration before repeating that stars are annoying for the 2390th time (minus the ones that weren't). That is their sol purpose for existentialistance this video game instance.

i get the strange feeling that geometrical centers and gravitational centers of planets are not the same points, thus balls that bounce off the planet's surfate act sort of funny and definitely unpredictable. bug?

@serfina, the record long putt, is the distance between when you hit the ball, and when it goes through the hole, not the total distance the ball travels

Agreed Xenon, numerous times I have seen the ball pull straight to a sun which weighs significantly less than the planet it is aimed at. Very annoying how inconsistent it is.
