veteran bonus ruins this game, mages extra diagonal range ruins this game, archers low cost ruins this game, mages attack bonus of up to +9 while others are 5 or less ruins this game. other then that 5/5

computer too hard !?!?!?!?!?!?!?
OMFG YOU MUST SUCK. Its a different tactic with people because, people are actually good.

A very nice, retro-style tactics game. For the badges - once again Tasselfoots guide from Kongreguides is great. The whole idea of fighting with only two mages is great. I don't know how he managed to invent it :-)

Great game. Mage can be over-leveled, though, and the other players in online mode are..quite..hard to deal with. But yeah, great job. 5/5.

Great but really too easy. With a mage maxed in Magic and Chain, on the upper land, you deal massive damage. 5 knights on the front, and two healers -> 10 wins on a row... But fine game. Need more work but can become a great game. 4/5

My perfect army: Mage (with full damage and full chain) 2 regular healers, 5 regular wars. the set up is simple: in the back row have mage on the hill and the 2 healers right net to him, front row is just all wars.
Always skip the first turn so that AI can come in range where your mage can hit from the hill. unless the army is all rangers.

too much penalty on moving! Attack from behind, you get +50, but you loose it automatically, if you move a few steps more. needs a bit of fine tuning, but i like it basically.

... think about it. you can only have eight units. if you kill all eight enemy units then you've won. so at any point, the most enemy units that can be dead is 7. it's unlikely (but possible) that one unit will hog all the kills. this means, that most (but not all) of the time, a unit will not have more than about four kills.

Archer with a range of four squares, another archer directly infront of him, an empty space, a mage, an empty space and then a healer. Logically the archer can move infront of the archer to hit the healer. The game, when clicking just to attack the healer moved the archer back, forwards and shot... only to have the game freeze.

i think veteran effect is fair.
there are at most eight enemy units. this means up to 7x veteran effect (8x would mean no more enemies). Now one unit will probably not get all kills. and not all enemy armies have eight people. so that means most of the time, you don't see a unit with more than four kills.

with the tactic of seven knights and a mage, and drawing the enemy out into the middle of the battlefield, keep the mage on high ground until he gets a kill or few. then if you want take him off to get those enemies who run to the sides

my army is similar to gilmann's, but I hold my army back and let the enemy come forward and get within mage's range. I use the knights to hold the enemy back, annd the mage wreaks havoc on the enemy

some tactics: kill clerics quick. use mage well - put him on the high ground, and wait. draw the enemy in and use mage on non-knight, or use a knight to force enemy knight to use shield block, then unleash havoc with lightning. get behind enemies - especially knights, as they have shield block. the edge is your friend.

Why does it limit you to 8 people? And why does it pair me up with people with 5 losses and hundreds of wins and then ban me for quiting.

I don't think veteran effect should be in this game, just look what happens when people make one really good unit that hogs all the kills.

Excellent game, but there should be some way of improving your units during play.
Maybe get a choice of where to add ability when you get that 'veteran' effect.

This game has the same problem most tactical games has but worse than most. There is no incentive to attack, you even get penalized for moving. Just sit back and let the enemy come to you or you lose. Not fun.

The problem with RPG design, particularly in a PVP setup, is that it simply boils down to a numbers game, and whoever has invested more time will be "better," regardless of strategy or skill. Likewise, having the matching match setup my first on-line match against a guy with 20-something wins and leveled up mages which are doing heavy damage to five or so of my players per shot is ridiculous. People will min/max and see that the easy way to win is to block some mages for damage from afar. They are simply far too powerful and are the major -- though not only -- component sapping this title of any worthwhile gameplay to be had. The inability to use more than eight units hurts as well and limits the possibilities of building one's army, and being unable to swarm mages with cheaper units just further help make it strictly a magic bombing game.
