Upgrade the skill for the chain hit and poison gems to the max.
Combine the poison gem grade 2 & 3, and ditto to the chain hit gems.
When you start a level, put the poison in a trap and the chain hit on a tower.
That's the best tactic I ever used(in the beginning), it's powerful so you can spare mana for bigger gems.

When I first started playing, I thought traps are useless. Now after a few hours of gameplay, I realized that a good gem to put in the traps are either the orange (steal mp) or the green (POISON). Having a grade 3 poison trap at the start or the fork of a level really weakens the foes for your other towers to finish off.

this might seem sarcastic, but it's honestly a fantastic feature that the game remembers on launch that i disabled the in-game sound. it's a great game, too, but this is a feature more games need to have for when i get tired of the game's sound and want to listen to bowie or buckley or boris.

Juvela, well, here in GC0 you can make the gem be a required color if you have a pure gem of a requested size, then make 3 gems of this size or smaller, line them up in inventory, and drop your pure gem as a gem bomb against the row with gems, they will all turn into gems of the sacrificed gem's color. But yes, the gem creation process results in randomly colored gem here.

Okay, well now that I know what "spells" are, how do I choose what gem I get? Or am I just stuck with mana stealing? This game sucks. I'm going back to Labyrinth. At least that one makes some semblance of sense.

The instructions for this game barely exist, if at all. "Select the spell, and create a gem." ...Ookaaaay, I can figure out how to create a gem, but how the frick do I select a spell??

Dear GamesInABottle. When I play on heroic mode in hidden level #24, there are Giant Monsters, which is weird, because in the discription from heroic mode you say there aren't Giant Monsters.
Plz + So GamesInABottle can fix this small bug

I love how Greg acknowledges how insanely long it takes to complete this one...and yet when Labyrinth came around, he still made beating it only a hard badge....with 169 damn levels.. The Gemcraft series is one of my favorites series...but all the badges in every game are just nuts. I mean in number one you have to reach level 30 just for a medium. Both this and 3 need to be impossibles. I don't know why he decided to be so hardcore with the badges in this series but, damn.

To gain time for badges: you can actually skip levels and go in a short straight line. For additional (quite necessary) XP, replay levels with easy 3x XP modes (e.g. endurance, swarm). And please stop complaining that this is a long game: it's a good thing and all to rare in the flash game world.

@ctroberts95 Those are Hidden Levels, you can unlock them by completing levels in "herioc mode" (you'll need wizard level 24 for this)

Well, the hard badge isn't hard, even less impossible: it is just time-consuming. There ARE quite impossible badges on Kong here and there, but this is clearly not one of them.

Decades have passed since I started my quest to find the Gem of Eternity. A gem with miraculous powers - giving eternal life, opening gates to other worlds, commanding creatures, to mention a few... I have spent all my life playing this game.

Playing this again after finishing labyrinth makes it seem SO much harder. Only because I'm used to having more options now and the limit is annoying...especially the lack of pause and the inability to control what type of gem you are making. Just goes to show the series has come a long way, moving in leaps and bounds.

ok ... here are the 2 major flaws of this game : 1 it is too long but that's no new lol
2 your towers are wayyyy too stupid
example: yea there is that bunsh of stacked up monster 3 of them are poisoned and will die real soon but the others wont what does my toer always do ? well kill the poisoned ones of course >.> also 2 towers targeting the same monster is a waste if one is enough to kill it however the other monsters don't die because they were never targeted --'
