I find it kind of annoying that I can't play the full version for free.
On the other hand, I clearly understand the worth of the game.

m00by1, that's not true actually, you can't do edurance run until you do the achivement, turst me as I have the preminum one. You have to use gem bombs on the waves to increas the numbers

Tolrick, here's some tips that'll at least work at semi-high levels and carry you through the game: 1. Selling wild gems is always better than using them. 2. Auto-extend 3. chain/blood duals will win every map (except for one boss fight). Unlock them asap. 4. Placement and timing are very important. Tested this from lvl 50 up, dunno what level the strategy kicks in.

Kill at least 7000 monsters on C-11 in one battle, need premium to unlock survival. Can't get 100% without spending money.... Totally kills it for me... It's one thing to ask for donations, I'm happy to hand over money for a good flash game dev, it's another thing to demand it.... It's a freaking flash game, man!

Completely and absolutely stuck. Don't have enough power to advance, and I don't have enough power to improve old maps. Kinda sucks.

The only thing I don't like about any of the Gemcraft games is being limited to certain gem types on levels. Other than that it's a great game, and so far this is my favorite in the series. I love how everything is way more user friendly, no more tedious gem combining, no more hoping for the right gem when creating them, it's amazing. Story is fantastic, visuals are astounding, and the background music/sound is just so perfectly eerie. Everything fits so well together, it's completely beyond me how 'The King's League' is third highest rated Strategy and Defense game and this is not.

While I like this Gemcraft I prefer the other because they are a bit more difficult but Thank you for the gem specific keys

Thank you for that great game i love to play it.
Its great to upgrade all gems or freeze the game to upgrade all that things.
To trap the way and make the waves harder for my own skills.
Thank you love it

This game is referred to as GCL. GC2 is a completely new game coming out soon. You can watch the recently released trailer for it on youtube. Search "GemCraft chapter two: Chasing Shadows trailer" by Game in a Bottle.

The events here happened before GC0, which happened before GC, there's a sequel by the name of GC2: Chasing shadows being worked on and is coming out this year (According to the trailer).

@Flashward, after a certain point (ironically, about halfway through I think) it gets easier and easier to beat maps because, as JamesH512 I think is saying, the best strategy is always the same.
So, yes I agree with James: it does get a bit repetitive (but then all games do eventually and each map has its own peculiarities and some can be a little bit tricky). You can use a different strategy for fun but you know that's just making it harder for yourself.
I think the ability to buy gem colour availability is the problem. It does allow you to play a map in lots of different ways but, ultimately, makes it possible to use pretty much the same strategy on every map. I think perhaps there should be more penalty for it (higher cost and/or reduced XP). Either that or reduce the power of yellow and lime gems.
But notwithstanding that, I still think this is probably the best TD game ever made.
