For first time final epic battle create lvl 7-8 shock, reduce armor and triple damage gems, also create 2-3 other high damage gems. Make 4 tower setups : 6 towers (3 upon road with key gems, 3 below road with other gems) on top area of map, and make 3 empty tower blocks - on lower left corner(3 towers), lower right corner(3 towers), and in the center(2 towers). Create trench alley on first tower block, and 2-3 trenches on lower corners and center. When boss will move near corners, quickly set there key gems, and on center two. Also on center boss will take damage from lower 3 towers with other gems.
On second pass, to reach which you MUST have at least 7080 mana, quicly put all key gems back to top tower block, and repeat gem-switching combo. In last 5 seconds when boss reaching end, bomb boss with all tower gems.

If you do nothing but throw gem bombs the game is laughably easy as well... at least for the first dozen or so levels... then once you max out the damage of your gem bombs, it gets extremely easy again.

I miss the power of dual gems and, the way to drop gem-bombs in inventory for transfer colors.

@DragonMage75: use a level midway in the game and press for all the waves to come. that way there will be a bunch of monsters and you get your 150 kills without any break :)

Has anyone gotten' the "Kill at least 150 monsters in a row" amulet? And if so, how? It is the only one I haven't been able to get, and I've tried a ton of different strategies.

Feared... if tds are all the same does that make all racing games the same? all shooting games the same? Doesnt your point mean adding any new game is pointless unless someone comes up with a completely new concept? Btw this game is legendary 5/5.

Just beat the final boss. it was ridiculously easy. i had 7 towers total on the top and 4 at the bottom. has a grade 7 of red, lime, blue, purple, green, yellow and orange. by the time the boss came i had 24k mana and i just let him keep going. I moved my yellow orange purple and green to the bottom (by hardest hitters and for mana and armor) when he got out of range and it was a cake walk.

I decided to count from the first 90 games in strategy section how many TDs (counting series as one TD for my own reasons). there were 14 TDs out of 90 games. Most of them were good games so i dont know what you are talking about.

feared, that doesnt belong in this games comments, that should be in cursed treasures, Gemcraft brought several new things to the table, and definitely deserves its rating. And comparing TD games on kong to newgrounds hentai is the stupidest comparison ive ever seen.

im sick of people making tower defence games, its now like the most commenly made type of game and all because 3 or 4 td's like gemcraft got popular, because they were good, it just fills every single flash game portal up with tower defences. Newgrounds got filled with hentai, kongregate is getting filled up with tower defences, pls, everyone stop rating so high on td's that are equaly as good as others, and basicly the same game cept different enemy looks, and dont make so many TD's, dont make kongregate get filled with the same genre the same way newgrounds got filled with hentai.

For the Final Battle, it's imperative to have a purple gem to take down the Epic Boss's armor. Without it, you'll never deplete his massive amounts of HP before he gets to your tower. However, not having a purple gem on the final wave, I found that by moving around the 6 orange gems I had, I could drain enough mana (7080) to banish him over and over again. It's a viable, albeit slow, alternative.

Great game, If you want to beat the epic levels spend you skill points on number of starter gems of highest level, upgrade mana per kill and send as many waves as possible at the start. then upgrade mana pool spell, and keep going untill the monster look like there pushing through then start upgrading gems, make sure you have around 7000 mana to finish the boss so you can make it go round twice! good luck! :)

alsied, replaying levels only gives you score for the improvment over your last time. So if the first time you got 700,000 and replay it and get 750,000, you only get 50,000 in exp

fun game.. but gem combination should be able to be done in the towers.. instead of putting the gem back in the slots and combining then putting back it to the tower

I've been stuck on level 9 and can't beat the first epic level!! Replaying the lower levels and getting a higher score doesn't seem to improve my overall score?

build a few towers nearby the village so that when enemies reaches there, I can still swap gems from other locations to there instead of making more expensive gems.

low leveled gems are a waste of mana eventually. I usually create the highest level of gem that my mana allows me to create, say level 4. Then upgrade my mana pool until the gem barely holds off enemies, get another level 4 or a level 5 gem. Make sure to have 2 level 5 gems before starting to create level 6 gems for survival reason. Then I keep upgrade mana pool until I am confident to make a level 6 gem. combine 2 level 5 gems to make another level 6 ...

just beat the first epic level myself. I just palyed normally, by the time the boss got there i had 5 towers total, 2 level 7s 2 level 6 and a level 5, once he was out of range of the level 7s and 6 (the first 3) i used them as bombs and killed him JUST before he entered,

I love the gemcraft series, but i cannot udnerstand how the epic level is possible. the final mosnter has 10k hp and if he makes it tot he end you lose, period. My biggest complaint with th Gemcraft series is there is absolutely no grinding for xp that a TD game NEEDS to have. playing a level to get a higher score, then only getting the different is bullshit
