Anyone else can not imagine how 120 pirates can fight 500 crew people(lvl 12, the boss ship, refering to firanve idea)? By the way, it works, 50 pirates even survive.

Last level is absolute garbage. Their ships can sail backwards, thats nice, except it isnt. Your cannons fire on the wrong side half of the time, thats also nice, if you like to gouge your own eyes out with sporks and stick hot coals in your orifices. Upgrades are useless in the last level, you have a dark brown ship on almost black water that makes it absurd to see, and every level before is totally doable. Im sure Ill get it but right now I feel the hate and the game needs to straighten up and fly right. Id say the other ships are working together to be the dogs they are but then they shoot eachother to swiss cheese and back. Hate you stupid ship game.

Simply ridiculous, at 12 says to have 13 enemies and you have time and work getting ready for it and when you're fighting the final boss has those damn ships upon you and a frequency that does not even to breathe

Captain's log, Three of September, Seventeen-Twelve.
The last smoking pile of what once was a ship, it seems, was more precisely a scout ship - as was the previous one. We had losses with both of them, but they were but testing us. Ahead of us larger vessels await. I write this as I see them appearing towards us, and shout to my men to read the cannons. No longer shall we venture into their ships. No, enough of that. We shall test the waters before diving, and plundering after sinking.
My room fills with the smell of brimstone as the drumming of the guns begin. No fire rips apart my men, but the same can't be said of my enemies. The first ship in the line is naught but scattered drifting wood, flaming planks and sinking cloth. It seems, however, that the valuable cargo can still be salvaged from the wreckage. I shan't write no more, I have a battle to win, riches to acquire and a badge to earn.

Captain's log, Two of September, Seventeen-Twelve.
The sulfurous smoke must have caught the attention of the Royal fleet, as we saw white sails cutting the fog as the first sunbeams fought to do the same. Our small ship remained out of their view long enough for us to be able to board the vessel unchallenged. A feeling of vengeance led us to engage them, but extra caution was used on the looting. Most unfortunate, looting on the tips of our toes was not how you avoid these demonic traps. We can't afford to cry anymore, even we more of our mates we killed today. We must make them by with the same coin. We shall bring them the same smell and heat.

Captain's log, First of September, Seventeen-Twelve.
On this day we had a mêlée with a Royal Ship.
We boarded it at once as soon as it came near. Fought the sailors and took control of the vessel.
What followed, however, was most unexpected; for when the crew was busy looting the ship, it went up in blazes with a loud roar. It saddens me much to say that we lost many fine men this morning, not slashed by the enemies sword, no - for our crew have skins of iron - but ripped apart by gunpowder.
Whence came the fiery thunder? Hell itself?, you may ask. Maybe it did, but most likely those yellow-bellied, fancy-talking Northern Loyalists booby-trapped their own ships to attack us.
Our rum taste watery and salty today for tears couldn't be held. The loss of our mates certainly was a tragedy.

I would suggest changing up and down to port and starboard. Gets a little confusing when you've turned the other direction.

@harvestsun: Great job on the info, worked like a charm! To the dev's: I haven't seen it yet, but a sequel would be cool, like being able to explore the Carribean and such... Great game though.

You switch firing direction w/ v. Read the instructions. Also, most games have a fun way and an efficient way. Most people find and use the efficient one.

WHY? Why my ship shoot the wrong way? Why the ennemy ships can move back while i cant? And again, why me ship shoot the wrong way no matter the direction of my boat? §ù$¤*

FYI You can just leave your ship in the upper part of the screen and do something else or mute this game and play another one :)

Fact that these tactics works great shows that this game has ridiculous money mechanisms. When the best way to beat a level in a shooter game is no shooting at all then something is wrong.

i agree with XenoShadow215, while it is better to win the first two matches without firing a shot, after that it becomes far more lucrative to fire and hit all cannonballs on level 4 or 5 i got 5000 gold bonus for 100% accuracy, and i goes up from there. so like harvestsun said, starting at the beginning:
1)First two levels win by taking your ship close to the enemies.
2)Level up number of pirates first, then speed.
3)Get a few turning upgrades, this is just so you can move fast and avoid cannon fire.
4) Once all of the above are maxed, work on reload and damage
5)Lastly work on number of cannons, just remember to only fire up close to keep the ratio of shots fired to shots hit close to 100%.
6 NEVER upgrade ship strength, as it barely helps with ship health. Also it really just makes you much bigger target for cannon fire, staying small and agile wins the badge.
7) Enjoy your new hard badge.

Ugh... yet another game that thinks I'm still pressing a key even though I've taken my finger off of it. Me: "Hey, a**hole! Stopping turning!"

I dit it ! Finish level 12 with 50 hp :D
Level 11 is the hardest level if you follow harvestun method + Firanve advise
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
to add to the final level (12) strategy by Firanve: the boss ship will do MASSIVE cannonball dmg so it's definitely the rule of thumb to take it out in close combat. Once he appears (from the top left) get to him asap on a slant to avoid shots and once you're engaging in combat, shoot right into his deck. Usually the reload works faster if you shoot in bursts (i.e. don't hold down F all the way). Once his hp goes down, he will summon some crummy ships. You don't want to engage all of them at once! When the additional ships are close by, go to the opposite, down, and back to the other side to dodge boss shots. Now go up again, engage with boss, and repeat as needed (usually just twice will do). Once boss is gone, crummy ships are easy to handle.

captain? there are still 3 enemy ships, we have no canons an just 20 men are still alive, what shall we do?" -"What?? 20 men? kill 10 then it won´t be so boring" -"but captain...?" -"I SAID KILL 10 PIRATES

There is nothing more fun and damn exhilarating than going toe to toe with the final boss and one of his cronies and coming out of it with just 1 pirate. Now that is satisfying. 5/5

Sometimes this feels like a mitchell and webb skit! "Fire all cannons to the starboard side!" "but sire all of the enemy are on the port side" "Who's the captain?" "Firing all cannons to starboard side..."

Protip : When using harvestsun's method, while in battle for levels 1 - 10 don't bother watching the screen. Just take your ship to the very top and leave it there. For levels 3+ get to the top, engage in combat, shoot one time at the enemy, and than just do something else. Come back in like, 2 - 5 minutes and you should have won by then.
