Good prototype I like it. The developer is highly responsive and the only fault I can think of is the lack of content which is acceptable as it is a prototype.

Problem, i cant buy anything because when I move mouse over upgrade it always moves the camera down and left so I can't click on upgrade
Chariots in space are the cruise control of coolness... Seriously, though, thank you for taking the time to play! Today's was just the prototype release, and I will be adding more content tomorrow and in the coming days!

Please add a full reset button. Reason I'm asking is because when you make important changes (and I trust there'll be a bunch), it'll be nice to start from scratch and experience the new gameplay.

The grind for upgrade boosts is way too rough for the tiny boost it gives. Either make them much cheaper or much more potent, or a balance of the two.
Thanks for your feedback! Boosts stack throughout the research tree, so later level researches will benefit from all the boosts in the researches that precede them. But I agree that some re-balancing is in order.
Thanks for flagging! The workaround is to refresh and it should work fine - but what you just wrote might help me in narrowing the issue down a bit. Sorry, I know it's a pain!
Thanks for your feedback! Question - in what cases do you see yourself using it? The game saves to the cloud every 30s, so you can easily switch between computers as long as you're logged into your Kongregate account.

Really liking the concept and layout, not far enough to say much more. The scrolling interface is confounding. I'm using a chromebook with its touchpad, moving the cursor to engage with the interface, it seems to scroll at random, sometimes scrolling and sometimes not, don't really understand.

Why not something like science points purchasable&upgradable haste tokens that degrade over time? That would muddy the water a bit.

I Don't know if this is intended or not, but With the correct branch, one tech can essentially inherit the same boost twice.
Right now this happens with the branch from pottery to irrigation and food stockpiling.
Pottery gets 1% cycle reduction from fire, which it then gives to both Irrigation AND food stockpiling.
Food stockpiling then receives the same buff again from irrigation, turning that original 1% from pottery into 2%.
Love the game btw, keep developing it, i already got to the current end of the game but am looking forward to where you take it.

I would love to see upgrade price and level always on the hexes. That would save time clicking through all of them, trying to find the cheapest.

Do you remember what message you saw on the screen - was it "Fetching UI elements" by any chance? I'm currently working on nailing down a bug somewhere in the loading process that I just cannot seem to replicate.

I'm assuming you're supposed to be able to zoom in and out with the mouse wheel? It just scrolls the whole Kong page for me. Could use some hot keys for zooming.

The scrolling wheel is working. Could you just reverse it though? Scrolling up to zoom out feels like its wrong. It is a simple QOL thing but I do feel as most games have it scroll down to zoom out.

If the tree currently ends at the chariot/settlement/construction, add something so we know that's all there is for now and we haven't missed anything. If it doesn't end there... um... what do I do?

Thanks for suggesting - yes, I'll definitely look into adding a clearer indication whenever the user has reached the end of current content. Multi-buy functionality is also in the works.
One question - 0.5.3 should already contain WASD/cursor scrolling and camera zoom (mouse wheel) - are these not working for you?

Nice game, hoping for more soon. Btw I think the displayed bonuses on some of the researches don't add up right, especially all the Reduced Cost bonuses don't show up at all. Other than that, just the already mentioned stuff like faster scroll speed and multi buy options. Keep at it this shows great potential.

You're right! I'll correct the description the next time I upload a new version. This very much a prototype-status game - I'm actively gathering user feedback on how I can make it better (and there's definitely been a lot of it - which is great!) Right now, Construction, Settlements and Chariots are the end of content - I will definitely be adding a lot more. Thank you for pointing out the inaccuracy!

Can we have a way to zoom out? or a more efficient way to navigate through all the researches you can upgrade, also a way to see the current upgrade level next to every research, so you don't have to click individually or keep the stats tab open.
It increases the effect that the boost gives to subsequent researches. For example, if the research boosts all subsequent research income by 5% at level 1, it will boost it by 10.25% at level 2 and so on. All such boosts add up along each branch. I definitely agree with you that it needs to be better explained, though!

Just started, but right off the go, one of the issues I have is that in order to upgrade a tech's level/boost, you have to click on it, then close the info panel that pops up in order to see/access the level up buttons. Perhaps it would be possible to integrate those buttons into the info panel, or to move the buttons or the info panel elsewhere on the screen, to make them more accessible.

Thank you for posting! Would you mind sharing which browser/OS you were using so I can investigate? Also, were you logged into your Kongregate account when you first tried to log in? The game does require you to be logged in, but I can definitely look for a way to better communicate these issues to the user.

Hi folks! Thanks for taking the time to check out Idle Tech Tree. This is a prototype version and is rough around the edges - but I'd love to hear your feedback on bugs to be squashed, features to be added, things to be changed, etc.
Given that there's enough interest, you can expect updates every (other) day for minor features and bug fixes, and weekly updated for major feature deployments.
