I've read comments suggesting that the boosts affect higher tier technologies, but there is nothing in the game indicating that, and I don't see any effects when I slot a boost, beside on the two adjacent techs.
So, could you please give some tips on how the boosts work?
In addition, the optimal way to play seems to be to focus on blueprints, and delay the prestige as long as possible, to accumulate more discovery points.
It's a very concerning point for me, the amount of discovery points you can gain seems to be limited, since you cannot restart a tier when you want. So, if you wait a long time between each prestige, you will have far more discovery points than a player who prestige as soon as possible. And this player will NOT be able to make up the discovery points later, they will forever be lost..
Can you confirm/infirm my fears?
Hi Icebird - thank you for the feedback! I am working on a patch right now - should be out due tomorrow - which will significantly increase rewards from objectives, thereby making endless grinding at the end comparatively less attractive. I am also working on adding ways to for players to receive free discovery points every so often, to make it more of a replenishing resource and, again, to further discourage post-objective grinding. I do want to offer it as an option for users who choose to do so, but it should not be as rewarding - comparatively speaking - as it is now.

I admit, it can be me, but I fail to see the progress in the game. There is no reward in choosing for Prestige. One has to start again with developing fire, and everytime it seems to be slower (where other idle games let you pass over earlier steps with increasing speed). The game offers you some goals, but these seem rather random. The most annoying however, is that it is not idle. Yeah... you can wait until you have enough points by waiting, but that won't get anywhere. Because once the jobs are done, one has to prestige to get a fixed reward.
And what sort of (first) instruction is "Join Discord"? you;ll get your feedback where I play, and not on some third party option I do not use.
Hi Jester - thank you for your feedback! You're right, "Join Discord" is, perhaps, phrased a bit poorly - it more to encourage users to join our (growing) Discord community, but it's by no means mandatory. I'm definitely happy to receive your feedback, wherever you choose to post it! As for the comments you mentioned: the goals come from a pre-defined queue and reward blueprints which you can use to upgrade your researches to produce more science on the next run. So, over time, you do become more powerful, it's just that the power progression is handled a bit differently.
Thank you for reporting, and I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue. I'm working hard on trying to resolve it, but it seems to be impossible to reproduce on my end. Will keep trying.

linear prestige sucks. After the prestige button appears, I can let the game idle for days, and I'd still get the same exact 'reward'. Boring.

For me, the click&drag scroll speed is way too fast. But, seeing as how people like it that way, maybe tune it to a setting?

It'd be nice to have an indicator on the blueprint repository screen of what levels all of my blueprints are at. The lower-level upgrades are cheapest, so I prefer to focus on them first, but I currently can't see what level I have unlocked on each blueprint without clicking on them individually. Sure, the progress to the next level is graphically conveyed by the border, but the current level is relevant information when I'm planning upgrades. Something as simple as a number next to each blueprint would make the upgrade process much easier.

Clicking all the upgradable talents after a few prestiges can start getting daunting. Suggesting a "Buy all" or "Upgrade all" where all the upgrades you can afford can be bought at once. Maybe make it something that unlocks after a certain prestige.
Great idea! A Buy All might be difficult to do, though, because it might end up spending all of the player's money on a lower-level tech that's not quite worth it. But let me see what I can do.

is it still possible to do a hard reset? I was away for a few days, and I would rather start over, if possible, with all the new features and, I assume, changes.
Hi Konone! Thank you for sharing; indeed, as another user mentioned, prestiging unlocks blueprints for new researches which you can use to further upgrade your income level.

No matter how long I'm gone, it always says I've been gone a little over 3hrs. Is that the max away time? I don't think so since there's a "Days" section.

DEVELOPER RESPONSE

Good point. I originally put the activation fee in to discourage users from swapping boosts in-and-out (e.g., slot in a discount boost when you want to upgrade, slot in a production boost otherwise, etc), but it ends up in users simply saving their discovery points for blueprint upgrades. Am trying to think of a better solution :)
Solution: Lower the cost of buying the boosts and upgrades and remove the ability to take the boosts off. Leave them there for the length of the prestige. I think that would work.
I was thinking of refunding prestige costs, but your option looks more elegant and takes into account the new flexibility offered by the prestige system. Thanks!

at prestige lvl 4 there objective to collect 2M science points without icon and also the description of cost and speed boost says there 10% but if you put them into connectors they say 15%

maybe just me and I just not seeing the real benefit here, but the fact I got to pay for a "activation fee" and that goes up quite a bit when I level up a boost makes me prefer I just don't level the boosts at all or use them for that matter.

Well that got weird. Stuff I used to own I don't own. While still owning stuff further down the path without owning the stuff in the middle.
Hey - thanks for letting me know. Could you PM me your account ID so I could debug a bit and see what, if anything, went wrong? Unlock requirements did update now that you need to have all preceding connections unlocked before you can unlock the technology, so it's likely that some stuff got locked as a result.

You changed so much about how this game is played from how it was. It basically ruined it for me. The technology tree isn't very organized either, which kind of lingers in the back of my mind while I play too.
Don't get me wrong. you've taken a bunch of awesome steps, but some of the steps make it really difficult for me to continue playing having already devoted research points to certain boosts, buying specific trees without knowing what they do or where they go.
Hi there - I'm sorry to hear that, but I completely understand where you're coming from. While I do try to make the game better with every release, sometimes it means going back on things that I've implemented before and asking myself if they really belong.
Tell you what - if you'd like, please PM me your PlayFab account ID - it appears on the loading screen - and I could maybe provide you a refund of discovery points spent? I would love to see you continue playing!

Love the game.. have a small request though.. I am using a laptop without an external mouse. cannot zoom in / zoom out for that matter. could you please add a keyboardpress for zooming? something like + and - for in an out?

The game design is completely vertical, center of the screen. Why does every popup have to cover the middle? You should move them to the sides so I dont feel like my view is always being restricted.

BUG: fire in the bottom has no connections to anything anymore ? I have nearly all sciences at level 150 or so already, in case that matters
Thanks for reporting! I'll look into it, but generally speaking, you should get 50% of the science you spent in the previous run back - this is just to compensate for the inconvenience of having to restart the game. But I'll definitely look into discovery points not resetting, as you certainly shouldn't keep those. If you can let me know more specific circumstances under which this occurred, it would help a great deal.

it would be great if the level after unlocking would be 0 instead of 1 so if I buy 25 at once the level is 25 instead of 26
Thanks for your feedback! For now, you can change the setting to "MAX" and it'll only buy up to the next milestone. I'm already working on an improved feature that will let you explicitly indicate that you want to buy only to the next milestone and not more. Stay tuned and thanks for checking out my game!

I feel the scrolling action is far too sensitive. I keep accidentally scrolling when I'm just trying to click buttons.

It seems like if you reach multiple discovery point tiers at the same time it eliminates points from lower tiers, i.e if you upgrade from level 0 to 25, you'll miss out on the bonus for Level 10. This is quite frustrating.

A few things caught my attention.
Horseback Riding and Chariots should probably switch places, as they might have been historically.
Currency and Trading should swap places as well, as trading have existed in some form long before any currencies were made.
These are just suggestions though.

Understanding the boost didn't translate well with me at all. I wound up not even putting boost on roughly 50% of the cells when I finished unlocking everything. The multiple paths for some unlocks should require both to unlock I think. It feels right. As it is, I only went back and unlocked the other paths once I had everything else. I really didn't feel any "chain" effect either. At one point I tried alternating time boost and production boost along a chain but there was no noticable feedback of any kind. Nothing visual or sensory to show it did anything other than a 5% displayed. It was underwhelming. Also, moving with the mouse button caused me to accidentally buy a boost upgrade. The only one purchased due to the disconnect with their function as it were. A right click to move would benefit here. Hopefully this comes off as constructive criticism because its not bad overall.
Hey - thanks for that! Indeed, constructive criticism well received. I'm actually done completely revising the boost system for the 0.7 release, which should be coming out tonight or tomorrow. Among other things, it will make boosts drag-and-droppable onto individual connecting lines, rather than researches, hopefully making the whole thing a lot more intuitive than it is now. I'm also tweaking UI feedback - I absolutely agree with you that it's really rough around the edges in that department, and it'll see more work once I'm done hammering out the underlying game mechanics. Thanks for taking the time to comment!

Research boosts do not affect all subsequent researches... Even though it plainly says it does in the instructions page. Umm, I think I reset my progress for nothing :/
The description is out of date - sorry for the inconvenience. Earlier today, I finished overhauling the boost system in the 0.7 release, which should be released this afternoon.
I'm inclined to agree! I have redesigned menus a little bit for clarity in 0.7, so I hope you take the time to check it out when it releases later today.

When you unlock a new tech, it says it is level 0 even though it is actually level 1.
Cost reduction boost doesn't seem to propagate up the chain the way income boost does. I can't tell on speed boost.
