On the level with reversed controls, the WASD controls *aren't* reversed, just the arrow keys. (I haven't checked the other keyboard layout).

In the Special Speedrun, I think the speed changer level (fast on the left part, slow on the right part) should be in the Unfair Speedrun, not in the Special Speedrun. I barely got a good enough time (119 seconds!) and the majority of the time loss came from this level.
Hi! This isn't just a regular paywall, it is just another kind of puzzle! :-)
Some players hacked into the game's code and found the Password without paying, and then shared it in the commentaries. You are vividly encouraged to use it so as to cross the Gate Of Power without paying!
Hi! No, this is a glitch that was not intended to be, thank you for noticing it. However, most of the secrets and other easter-eggs in the Requirement Room can be found by typing a single world, so it shouldn't cause too much trouble. I'll try to fix that in a future update!
If you have time for it, you can help me solve the issue by sending a 'bug notice' and copy-paste there the error messages of the console of your web browser while being in the Requirement Room and after trying to type a word followed by a space key press. Thanks!

For the invisible cursor, is there a trick or do everything blind? / Pour le curseur invisible, il y a une astuce ou il faut tout faire à l'aveugle ?
No, I'm afraid that one has no trick to help you get through! It is one of the toughest levels of the game... However, you can explore different parts of the game and come back when you are more experienced ! :-)
Non, ce niveau là n'a aucune astuce ! Il s'agit d'un des niveaux les plus difficiles du jeu... Mais tu peux toujours aller explorer d'autres parties du jeu et revenir quand tu auras plus d'expérience ! :-)
Thank you! I'm glad you liked the game!
I plan on working on other philosophy-related games in the future. If you want to hear about it, come and have a look at my developper's profile on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/gingerbread.development.9

A bientôt ! Stéphanie (copine de Catherine)
Bonjour Stéphanie, merci d'avoir pris le temps de venir jouer !
Je vais essayer de corriger ce petit bug dans une prochaine mise à jour du jeu, bravo pour l'avoir trouvé !

1: Not sure if this is a bug, but on the level where you turn right by hitting space, A/D will move you left/right, but arrow keys won't. 2: You should integrate with Kong API on the speedrun times. 3: If you're considering adding to the platforming mechanics (IE coyote time) another possible addition would be proportional jump.
1. This is a glitch indeed, and one I had never noticed before, good job for finding it! Although, I am not going to correct it, since it is a way you can use to go faster through the speedruns. Now that you know about it, you can try to make use of it to win a few seconds on your best time! There are a few other glitches in different levels as well, that are left intendedly as a way for players who are into speedrun to improve their times.
2. This is a planned feature for future updates: the game needs to get popular enough for Kongregate staff to allow me to integrate that API. Because the game was published only a few hours ago, it is still too early to do so, but if more players ask for this feature, I will do my best to add it in a future update!
3. That's a good idea. I'll consider it!
Thanks a lot for your feedback, it is widely appreciated!

If I complete the regular special and unfair speedrun and the credits room am I missing any content? The hint room doesn't show anything new.
Yes, there are a few other things to discover! In the Requirement Room, did you ask for 'new experiences' or for 'exploration'? Did you discover the Achievements Room? There are also other important secrets I won't tell you about, you'll have to find them for yourself :-)
Enjoy!

badwolfg1rl , the space bar will send you, in order; right, up, left, down, and repeat. You can change mid air or mid movement. Hope this helps! sorry if i'm wrong about the order, let me know if I am.
Hi! Finding the secret room is good, but completing the secret room and finding the secret ending is even better! Did you manage to do that already? ;-)
If you like my game, the best way to get new levels is to share it with friends and to give it visibility by giving it a good grade: this will definitely encourage me to create more content, more levels or even a new game in the future!
Hello! Thank you for that recommendation. I will modify the game, test it, and make that modification in a future update if the testing proves successful :-)

So many surprises, funny game (the invisible level was the hard part for me). Not sure I've finished everything... I'm gonna back
Good luck! You should have all the elements you need to discover the main secrets of the game now! In case you feel stuck, don't hesitate to ask other players for help, they might have found different secrets than yours ;-)

I'm doing the special speed run and I can't figure out the one where you move back and forth with a and d but can't jump and pressing the space bar sends you to the right uncontrollably. I've tried using the hint but it won't help.
Hi! Congrats for getting "the power" ! Now that you have it you can decide to share it for other players to use as well, or to keep it for yourself. Because you found "the power" only one day after the publication of the game, I'm not sure that so many players found the Gate of Power just yet. So it's yours to see!
(Although it seems like some other player accessed "the power" as well and decided to share it...!)
Hello! That's true, a few players reported this bug as well. I'm very sorry about it, it never happened during the beta-testing period. Have you tried to deactivate Chrome's automatic cookie filter for this webpage, by using the option on the right end of the web address bar, and then reload the page? Otherwise, the game should work fine in other browsers that don't have that automatic filter function, such as Firefox or Safari if you play on a Mac.

Love the concept of the game, but jumping feels pretty laggy right now when you're at the edge of a platform. Especially towards the later levels this gets kinda frustrating
You're right! The game doesn't always feel as smooth as I would like it to. The main reason for that is that I created it using the game engine GDevelop 5 for the first time, and focused more on the content of the game rather than it's control. I can not swear that I will add coyote time in the next update, as this might take too much time for now, but I appreciate your comment and I will take it into account for my next games using GDevelop 5, that's for sure!

This is a much weaker version than the TITOL and I don't see a single area this improve on the original idea.
There is no music. You've stripped away the charming elephant in the attempt at making it minimalistic. The levels are much smaller, yet feels much longer to traverse.
And the level design doesn't work very well compared to the TITOL games.
Hi bowserjr and thanks for having a look at my game. You're right, I used inspiration from TITOL to create some of the levels. However, there is a major twist that adds a lot to the game after the first "ending", did you get that far? It is also intentional to make longer levels to traverse, as this will give you more opportunities to optimize your time during speedrun segments later in the game. I hope you'll take a chance to play again and to find what makes my game different from TITOL! :-)

Pretty cool game, very entertaining. The only thing I would change is add more witty replies to the Requirements Room, I tried "ending", "trueend", "happyend", "finale", "bossfight" etc. got nothing, also more replies to swear words etc. (maybe log what people are typing?)
Hi! That's too bad, because "end" or "the end" would have triggered a reaction! I will add those words you suggested in the next update, I think they should trigger a reaction as well. There are currently around 400 words that trigger a reaction in the Requirement Room, maybe you can try to find some more? :-)
As a clue, some (but not all) easter eggs are related to: Nintendo games, Undertale and other sources of inspiration for this game. But there's even more!

I agree with what Tasselfoot said about this game being very trial and error. I also didn't think the platforming physics; the controls were too floaty, which made the lack of coyote time (where you can jump a few frames after leaving a ledge) even worse. I did find some of the secret stuff to be interesting...

Can someone give me an additional hint on "learn to be patient"? Spent like 30 mins on this level trying various things including staying still in various manners, no luck so far.

Great game! I was disappointed (and amused) to find out the requirements room will give you everything you ask for except for the password

Thanks for being inspired by our games! The one thing I feel this is lacking, which the TITOL series has, is level names. These serve the purpose of giving a veiled clue to the player. As it is now, Exercises in Style is very trial and error, and solutions feel like they've been lucked into, as opposed to being solved.
Hello and thank you for having a look at my game :-)
Although my main reference is Raymond Queneau's book 'Exercises In Style', I can't deny that some of my levels got their inspiration in TITOL. However, once you find the Requirement Room, original gameplay mechanics are added to the game, which are original and weren't featured in the TITOL series (up to my knowledge). About the level names, this is actually rather a choice to make players refer to the Hints Room for help, thus breaking their progression and cancelling the possibility of making a good time in speedrun, thus adding a memorization element to the speedrun segments (especially the 'Special speedrun'). As this was more of a slightly experimental feature, I might reconsider it for future games. So thank you for your feedback!
By the way, did you try typing 'references', 'inspiration', 'this is the only level' or 'jmtb02' in the Requirement Room? ;-)

Troubleshooting: some players reported an issue while loading the game on Google Chrome. The loading screen appears and goes up to 100%, but the game doesn't start. If this happens to you, try to deactivate Chrome's automatic cookie filter for this webpage, by using the option on the right end of the web address bar. Then reload the page. The game should now launch normally.
Please let me know in the comments if you experience a similar issue!

I'm stuck on the close-up level. I got to the star hidden in the wall, but then I died to the red triangle and I can't get it again
