Description

SURVIVAL MODE (gameplay):
You (upto 2 players) must defend yourself against an army of malevolent droids, which can find you no matter where you hide on the map (though your cloaking ability will temporarily confuse them). The game is divided into a system of waves and rounds.
Each wave brings a new squads of enemies, there are currently 3 waves per round but this will change in the future, when I add more enemy types.
Each round enemies become more agressive, numerous and sometimes more powerful (speed, firepower etc.).
Round 1 sees you start with dual weilded pistols and grenades, but you'll get access to more powerful weapons as you progress.

You are equipped with:

* A regenerating shield
* armour
* A special ability (Currently cloaking but more will be added in the future)
* Plenty of cool weapons
* Support from Automated Turrets (You can purchase these at pre-defined ports).

Your shield regenerates over time whilst your armour does not.
The rate of shield recovery depends upon state of your armour, so remember to take cover when nesscesary.
The game ends once all your lives are depleted, in Co-op mode you share the same pool of lives..

How to Play

Controls depend on the control scheme you choose from the menu (just before entering a map).

GENERAL TIPS:
-Don't be afraid to spend credits on turrets.
It may cost 400Cr to unlock a turret but it only cost 50 to respawn them.
-Keep moving
-Use your special ability (currently cloaking), to get out of sticky situations.

UPDATE BETA 0.18.15
-BLOOD AND EXPLOSION BURNS!
-Melee attacks and grenade launchers do more damage.
-Small optimizations to rendering algorithms

UPDATE BETA 0.18.12 (27th March 2011):
1. Fixed all known issue with rendering objects at the incorrect depths.
2. Nicer looking radar
3. Switched font of all text (in game and interface) to Calibri
4. Made a much better rendering system which takes advantage of blitting techniques for certain objects. The game should run much faster now.
5. Fixed all known issues with sounds
6. Replaced black blur effect around in game text messages, to a light drop down shadow.
7. Fixed a crucial glitch with droid majors wondering off the map and clipping through walls.

NOTE that the older submission is scheduled to be removed.
I wasn’t getting any feedback on the latest two versions (despite a month of reprogramming).
So I decided to resubmit.

Hmm how about bigger barrel explosion, more weapons, faster movement and better instructions

Thanks for the much appreciated constructive criticism:

@Maiko50, there will be more weapons: phase rifles/forcefield generators are next on the list, along with an armoury, to let you choose what to spend your hard earned credits on.
More powerful barrel explosions? sure, why not.
I'm not sure about faster movement, some people complain the game goes too fast (and vice versa). Maybe a sprint jet boot ability or equivalent (when I get round to it).

Thanks guys for taking the time to play my game. I'll have half a week off Uni, so I'm hoping to get a bit more done on this project.

I've been experimenting with ways to blit bitmaps to other bitmaps.
Within a few days of this comment I'll post a minor update with blood stains (generated on the background as the player takes damage), and explosion burns (that fade away with time).

P.s. sorry once again for the slow update rate, I have to keep up with uni too...
P.p.s. Thankyou once again to all those who posted constructive criticism and gameplay suggestions.
I'll try and implement more of them once I get a sizeable amount of free time.
