@rockydennis: That's also what I was doing (manually prestige PL1 and PL2 when possible), but it was still too slow. There are multiple ways to grind: Get more ascension upgrades, more ascension perks and more armory upgrades.

@KeeperBvk - I could get to PL14 for Highroller 1 before I'd get stuck. What I did then was to manually prestige at PL1 if there were enough points to get an increase in stats. I'd inevitably get stuck and have to do it again - this repeated many times. It took some time, but I was able to finally finish it. I'm not sure you need to grind for upgrades - if in the game it recommends doing Highroller based on where you are, you can probably do it.

@rockydennis: I had also been following that exact same guide, but it's too slow for me. I keep grinding upgrades before attempting it again.

I've unlocked Ascension Layer 2. What are the Ascension AutoBuyers settings I should be using for this and future Ascension layers?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@rockydennis Yep; I was following exactly that guide. I did not progress significantly for days, so I'll retry after getting Improved Prestige, and very likely 2 stat upgrades.

Question for those who've progressed past Ascension Layer 1 - so far, I've been following the strategy from the Steam guide of skipping prestige layers (I prestige two layers at a time) until somewhere around PL24-27, where I then prestige one layer at a time. In the Ascension perks, there's a perk where I can automatically skip two layers (prestige three layers at a time). The guide only covers up to AL1. I'm ready to ascend to AL2 now - at what point and conditions would I be skipping two prestige layers?

This is the guide to the game on Steam, which covers the game through AL1. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2208459897

My strategy for Highroller 1 was to set Autobuyer at PL3 and up at 4/3/2/x (4-root/3-root/2-root/1.01x) with Lowest Layer Priority (LLP) (this is from the Steam guide), but I was still getting stuck. Whenever that happened, I would manually prestige at PL1, and eventually I finished the trial.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Highroller 1 trial was tougher than I expected. I'm thinking that I will try again after getting Improved Prestige (and very likely at least one more stat upgrade)

@rockydennis: Thanks! @GAMER_7: Keep prestiging. Eventually, there will be a counter in the top right indicating how much longer you need to go until you can ascend for the first time.

@norcekri: What do you mean "they were not archived"? You can still easily access the forum posts by clicking "Forum Posts" and then "Archive". Alternativel, there are also plenty of guides on Steam.

Something's just not clicking for me here (no pun intended) in terms of what to do to progress. Seems like I've hit a plateau at Level 15 and I don't know what to do to increase more points and gold. I know that there is talk of guides and such in other places, but there's not enough intrinsic appeal in this game to do the "work" of research. So, is there a simple, short summary of advice to keep in mind at all?

lower the ceiling, raise the floor//our skills are just a nested moor//one to the other, we can't combine, maybe someday we'll see clear each others' shine

Hi Gniller, I'm a dummy and feeling a bit lost. I haven't hit Ascension yet, I'm working towards PL10 I guess. My autobuyer settings are set to "log10(current)x" for layers 1-4 and disabled for 5 onwards. Default minimal 1.01x, prioritize lower layers, on small floor change. This seems to make sense to me but I can't say I understand why lol. Does it look okay to you? What would you change now or in the future and when?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
a little annoying when you are trying to build a balanced team. I have a warrior with only defense and hp, and he does no damage. good game over all but higher floors (for you) feel a little boring

@Sagouain - I'm not sure what you're saying. eeN = 10^(10^N). So from the previous comment that gave an example of 1.0ee2345, that's 10^(10^2345) which is 1e10000000.... with 2345 zeros.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@rockydennis it's actually ee5.xx where 5 represent the number of digits -1 and XX the first two digits of the e. So indeed it doesn't make any sense.

For some reason my auto prestige stopped working. What exactly is the setting to turn it on and off? Maybe i messed a setting up?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@yiupang9999 - the game does use scientific notation, until the numbers get too big. 1.0ee2345 that you mention in scientific notation would be 1e100000...... with a total of 2345 zeros.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Can u change the numbers to show by "scientific method"? 1.0e^30 is much clearer than 1.0ee2345(i just made this up, i am no good at maths)

Initially 1 Warrior to one hit with overkill, 3 Paladins for Banner of Knight bonus, 1 Ranger and 1 Cleric for speed bonus. After about 3 days you should have Heirloom of Legends and switch Ranger and Warrior since you only fight bosses from then onwards.

I've figured out what is wrong with this game: as you progress there is less content, not more. I don't know when I last fiddled with my dudes' stats, but my conclusion is that at this point it doesn't matter. Every time I try out something other than "prestige at small floor change" and "autobuy for maximum stat increase", it just slows things down. Even getting the 1e100 upgrade seems to do more to slow me down than to speed things up. The first couple sessions of messing with my heroes stats to get one more floor before they died were interesting. Waiting for 20 hours without changing anything to get one more prestige level is boring.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@TogaLynch - if you look at guides, after PL10, you should prestige two layers at a time, and you only need to get the floor skip upgrade. Meaning, don't prestige to layer 11 until you have 5 points available for 12 - then prestige both of them, getting the floor skip for both. Then repeat this from then on. But very important is to set your AutoBuyers optimally. There are guides on Steam and Discord, links to them are a few comments back.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@TogaLynch - using 1 Warrior, 5 Paladins Highest floor 1.77e9. The next Prestige I will be doing manually is 14. Currently at 1e78, but I'll wait a few hours for 1e100+. I have ascended once. I hope to do so again in the next couple of days.

@kadare - eventually I want to experiment with two or more rangers (with Heirloom of Legends) and the rest paladins to get the multiple benefit of increased attack speed.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@kadare - if you have a ranger, have him in front for the attack speed boost. But having six paladins would give an additional boost in attack power. This is all guessing on my part - I still have one warrior, 5 paladins, and haven't gotten enough money for Heirloom of Legends even though I've ascended twice.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@kadare - actually I don't think it matters! You could use six paladins too. I was thinking ranger for the 10% boost in attack speed.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@kadare - think of it this way. If you have a warrior, and add five warriors, you're adding an additional +500% in attack, which isn't too shabby. But with my current lineup of one warrior and 5 paladins, I have an increase of +98426% for each of my stats, per paladin (!). I'm killing everybody on each floor with one single attack by the warrior. I don't want to waste time having my team take turns attacking - I want to finish floors quickly, because the point is to always be prestiging and ascending. Once I get the Heirloom of Legends (which is 1.00e25 in gold) - that will reduce the enemies on each floor to a single boss (yielding more experience), making overkill useless - I'll switch to a ranger, partly for the critical damage, but more for the 10% increase in combat speed.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@kadare - One warrior, surrounded by paladins with morale, can do much, much more damage than multiple warriors, striking down all enemies (with overkill) on a floor with a single attack.
