A strategy guide to the game that's an update from one from the Kongregate forum (which of course doesn't exist anymore) is on the Steam Community forum. It's really useful - I've been playing the game wrong all this time.

@Fiddletink Descriptions for these are at the bottom of the page in the relevant tabs. For those three you listed, Blessed increases the stats of all heroes by that percentage when a hero is healed, but resets on a restart, whether prestiged or everyone is defeated. Synergy lets a paladin heal a percentage of what they hit and hits for a percentage of what they heal. Morale gives a stat boost for every paladin alive, stacking with multiple paladins.

I have gotten some of my top numbers to look like 'xee1.03'. I'm guessing that these are for 7-digit exponents, but I am not certain.

Define things.
For example- "5% blessed", "10% Synergy", "50% Morale" all of these are gibberish. You have to explain mechanics you put in the game.

@miambox - we have very different philosophies. Even though I have 5 Paladins, I actually don't care about healing. I have them for the morale - to boost the attack stats of my Warrior. I have 100% overkill for my Warrior. My goal is to run through the floors as quickly as I can, so I can prestige / ascend as fast as possible. Since my Warrior strikes first before the enemies, I want to kill them all with a single attack from him for each floor, rather than each of my team taking turns like I would with a different lineup. Since I'm focused on first/one strike killing, I have minimal health and armor for my Warrior, and max out my damage. It's worked okay so far - I've ascended today. And when I get Heirloom of Legends, that will reduce the number of enemies on each floor to one, so I'll switch to a Ranger to up my attack with critical hits.

@rockydennis , one warior, fully invested in armor, 4 cleric, 1 ranger. ranger after the cleric so the cleric actually use heal instead of attacking, as many cleric as possible to spam heal and thus bless everyone, a warrior with so much armor he take 0 damage.
it is slow, but it can grind as high as you want in a single run. As long as the armor of the fighter is significantly higher than the damage of the ranger (i took ~e3 ratio) then you will always have enough armor for each next level to not die. then clerics will bless everyone to shape slowly until the ranger actually kill the enemy, rinse & repeat

@LissyTheArch e in scientific notation means x10 to the power of the number after e. So 4e5.12 means 4 x 10^(5.12). This definition extends to ee. So, 4ee5.12 means 4 x 10^(10^5.12).
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
A lot of my numbers now start with 'ee' with no prefix. The number after the 'ee' looks like the usual prefix, so I have damage numbers like: 'ee5.12'. I think this starts happening above 1.00e100000; I am not noting it when there are only 5 digits in the exponent.

What is everybody's best team? Right now, I have one Warrior in front who does all the attacking, with five Paladins - with the Banner of the Knight (morale), everybody's stats are boosted proportional to the number of Paladins. Once I get Heirloom of Legends (enemies are no longer in groups, only single enemies), I might switch out the Warrior for a Ranger for the benefit of critical damage.

@xndass :: you just described what an idle game is ... a game that essentially plays itself with periodic resource management from the player. It isn't for everyone.
If the prestige for X points button doesn't work, try using a different browser or ensure anything that blocks pop-up windows is turned off and refresh the tab because the button uses a "are you sure" popup confirmation dialog window.

very slow boring repetitive. or go away and have it play itself, uh thats not playing a game. also i did happen to leave and c ome back and it was frozen no progress anyway. so im not even getting to the point of not liking the save mechanism.

if you want to get the impossible badge, put a max defense warrior at the front, followed by 4 clerics, with a max damage ranger in the back. this build works only if you have the mystical cape level 2 from the shop, as it allows for your units to scale a lot when the clerics heal.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It would be pretty neat if all enemies attacked at once instead of having to see "enemy 1 attacking, enemy 2 attacking, enemy 3..."
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
What? Prestige "level 2" resets all your "prestige level 1" values to zero? I thought prestige values were retained when you got more prestige? I hate idle games. -Pip

For badge hunters, begin with Warrior in front (max defense), ranger (max attack), cleric (max healing). Keep on adding rangers in the middle. At some point you wanna have 6 Rangers on max damage, and forget heroes exists. Change your local time by 3-4 days at the time to play the game at 100x speed, no need to refresh the page, the game will update after a few seconds, you can buy stuff and do trials while the game is speeding. It will still take a considerable effort and time to reach the impossible badge, possibly a week.

I found that the best way to progress fast was to have a warrior at the front and followed by rangers with a cleric in the mix

What does "Respawn 8 floors below current" mean? I unlocked it, but I'm respawning tens of millions of floors below the one I died on.

How to "Prestige on layer 2": Basically, just keep playing. The line at the top will eventually change from "Progress to Prestige point #" to "Progress to Prestige layer 2." Once that's 100% you can prestige on layer 2.

Auto buyer didnt work at all, nor the badge, i am on layer 4,.
I just need a "buy max " button, why the hell u need me to press all that "who knows how many times "
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Might just be me, but I kinda feel like the Holy Hammer in the Armory should give Armor instead of Damage. Also, would prefer if you could get an upgrade to insta-clear floors where the enemies can't hurt you instead of the "Respawn 10 floors below current" upgrade due to gold gain, but then again I'm just starting out.

million dollar idea: pause button, allows you to view your team stats without them fighting/gaining xp/prestiging. Idea2: split auto prestige options to separate layers. Idea 3: auto prestige option: when unclaimed points exceed claimed

yes warrior/4 cleric / ranger or ? stacks mystic cape and overheals endlessly, it will heavily outpace a lot of early game

Is having a healer actually useful? My current four man party consists of 1 tank (max armour) and 3 rangers (max dps).

ericblowdoe: you can respec any of your characters at any time. Just click the minus sign to get the points back and respec your characters however you like.

drat, it appears that the Cleric is only healing himself, not the Paladin, and is not FIGHTING at ALL, because he's in the Back row, AND CAN"T BE MOVED.
there should be a way to re-arrange the party.

I refreshed my game since the achievements don't seem to work since they are still at 0 and now all my prestige upgrades are reset while my heroes and level are the same...

Kongregate is now a collection of Idle Games, because they get more plays as you have to come back a lot so that's more ads watched for them. This game is so boring already at the very beginning, literally nothing to do apart from looking at a white screen 1/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
@Talen45 You'll have to respec your character in the Heroes tab, second from the left. Your characters will take a different role depending on their stats.
