Chester the demon chest is remarkably efficient in his gold-to-cash conversion rate. 100 gold for just 5 people is the best rate out there, and as an extra bonus, he doesn't make your people unhappy. :)

It may be 2021 but I spend maybe 1 hour and 45 minutes playing and I have a gold machine 3000 gold 1000 happiness 5619 people a money machine and a good relationship with everyone known to man and the best part is I didn't sell my cog.
