Under rating threshold (show) Part 3/9 For Loop Practice: "You will need to use quotes since this number will be a string." It's unclear if you're expecting "twelve" or "12". I assumed "twelve", since I'm pretty sure trace can take in a number value. (FYI, he expects "12").

Under rating threshold (show) I don't see any new areas to access in the latest update. I refinished the Function Island rite of passage but I don't see any new areas past Function Zone 2.

Under rating threshold (show) Very good game! I'm a programmer but it's so fun to learn this way. I found 2 things: 1, Function Practise, 3. Creating a Real Function Part 1, 5/5, there is a typo: privatevaruserExp:Number=1; 2, (I don't know if it's a regional thing or not, but when I want to write a @ (for the email address, with Altgr-v), the game copied the string what was in my clipboard.) Keep up with the good work, I can't wait for the next update! :)

Good idea. I'm teaching myself how to set up a server, but it is taking a while. Hopefully I will be able to do this soon. In the meantime, "unlocked mode" will let you skip worlds

Under rating threshold (show) Part 4/8 For Loop Syntax: I thought that the loop will end if the condition (2nd statement) is false. So why is "for (i = 0 ; i = 5 ; i ++)" looping six times? i mean i = 5 is false if we start with i = 0 ... Does the condition have to be true first before it can reach the "Break Point" ? Sry for bad english =)

The new version I just uploaded should also unlock the elite training zone now. With the way my level system works, I am not sure how to unlock each individual level without writing quite a few lines of code. I'll think about it.

Under rating threshold (show) I don't think for(var i:uint=0;i=7;i++){ would ever work at all. That i=7 should be i<=7, I think? (Loop Lavaland Rite of Passage, 3/16) There are several instances of the identical mistake too, according to my memory.

Unfortunately my board has blocked the website kongregate for obvious reasons. Under rating threshold (show) There is one question I have. I've started reading the AS3-Tutorial from Adobe (don't worry, your game is awesome and I will keep reading your tutorial), but it doesn't say anything about the "private" when declaring a variable. It just says you need to write var varName:Type = value; Well, this confuses me. Why do you use "private" in your tutorial?

If you are writing code in the timeline (which I don't recommend) then you only use var. Also, if you are writing local variables, like in functions, then you use var. We are going to use object oriented programming though (OOP) and that means our code will be in different classes. We make the variables private to prevent them from interfering with each other. Variables shared between different objects/classes are public, or protected, or static. Hope that helps. :)
