I think there is a mistake on the Concatening String Tut.
4 private var stringFour:String = stringOne + " " + stringTwo ";
Is this final quote right?

Question, in Part 5/9 Concatenation, when you illustrate a line for adding a space, there are three double quotes - Is the final double quote necessary or just a typo?

To the programmer, who showed us programming "Gregory Carlson": Awesome work! Not the fact learning some programming language but the way players have to interact while going through step by step was what I really enjoyed! As I get a teacher I can tell you, that your questions (and your head/thoughts, who made up these questions) were brilliant and of educational and didactical value! Again it was a plaisure to play it until the end. I'm not quite shure, whether it makes sence to continue with more difficult chapters as you can only write a single line into your answerChecker, but if you find a solution for it, I can't wait to play more, learn more!

This game is so good! I love it. I'm still playing with it, but i cant wait, because i know, i learn things fast. I hope you will continue it, because this is the best game i have ever played (and I love playing. :D).

WOW! I'm totally convinced! You saved my day with this true jewel of educational software. Keep it up and, well, stress yourself a little bit for the updates beeing published soon. Can't wait any longer ;)

Finished it, will come in handy for school. Would love to see more,
although the game itself wouldn't be necessary for me. Nice touch though, and it does make for very concrete examples.
I think it's extremely easy to follow, so I'm looking forward to see code how a game would search for a specific item in the inventory... or would you just declare another variable for every specific key item?

This is really incredible, I've sort of poorly attempted to force myself to learn ActionScript on a number of occasions and it never really went anywhere. I think I've learned more playing around on Sunday and having a good time than any of the times I've tried to be serious and study.

In Elite training Zone (Level 2 Concatenation) in Part 5/9
Theres one quote too much:
4 private var stringFour:String = stringOne + " " + stringTwo ";

Part 7/8 Basic Programming Math
Cool, almost done. The variable below equals 15, but we want to change it to 14. Use an increment operator to change it to 14.
1 private var userCoins = 15;
You mean "decrement" not "increment" operator.

btw, for readability purposes it is better to align parenthesis like this:
void test()
{
if(true)
{
}
}
when viewing the code outside of IDE it helps identify the blocks of code faster

I am so stuck on 9/15 in the Rite of Passage for the second training set... I have no idea how the hell to put together this trace statement. HELP!!

Alphjr, the arena uses a in-game computer, witch uses a different health system than the rest of the game. To restore arena health, buy restore computer.

ifound a bug when i go to the arena i lose life and if I heal me at the RAMville store my life only regenerates in my halth window when I go to a battle I start it with the same amount of life that i beated the last guy the only way to get it back is by losing the battle

I think you are missing a word in this sentence in the tip calc part 2 part 3/9: "First, there is more than way to solve any problem."

in the elite training zone, in the string section ( first block) section 4/7, there is a sad face don't think is supposed to be there... ):

It's great! i wish i discovered it much later so i could play the whole game and would'nt have to wait for the next version! great work, keep it going!!!

Fantastic way to learn the basics =D would also be great to implement down/uploading savefiles manually. When this game gets biggerover time, I don't think my cache will store data that long. But all in all:

As someone who is taking a CS class, I figured I would play this game.
Then I realized it was in AS3. The same language that's in my class.
"BITCHES, I GOT THIS!"

this is pretty fun to play as a beginning programmer. i have some experience in python and most of the stuff you talk about (at least in the first part) seems very clear and helpful. i really feel like after this i would be ready to make something in flash.

You should pick a punctuation standard AND STICK TO IT. I've lost life because I forgot to put a period after a sentence. And yet several times there are sentences without periods ending them.
That's a good idea. You can tell that I go through several drafts over several weeks, and it's not always consistent. I'll standardize everything in the next update. Thanks for the feedback.

This "game" is amazing. I have some very small background in programming, having learned BASIC a long long time ago and then moving on to doing a little bit in Visual Basic. What you have so far was fairly easy for me because of that but was a great refresher and neat to learn the newer syntax. Please please please continue this. It was a lot of fun.

@Shaakrahin
Yes, the semi-colon is technically optional, however MANY languages DO require you to use semi-colons no matter what, and it's just more easy to read if you do. Semi-colons are also required if you plan to put two statements on a single line, so basically, if you want to look more official, plan on learning another language or plan on putting more than one statement on a single line, then using semi-colons is suggested.
You're right about the += thing, it never said it was wrong, it just never accepted it as an answer, probably just an over-look in the making of the game, or just laziness.

Teaches you wrong things. myNumber = myNumber + 100 is equivalent to myNumber += 100, but it won't accept it.
Also, in actionscript, the semicolon can be omitted.
Too much bullshit overall for me. I won't rate, though, because my opinion as a programmer is biased.

The idea of learning how to make a game through a GAME?THANK YOU!I just finished it and i cant wait for the next update(I guess i can revise a little bit what i learned till the next update comes out...).The way you try to beat things into our heads is awesome.I thank you from the bottom of my heart for this game because i always wanted to make a game but i thought it was too difficult for me,now there is a great chance i can make one..Keep up the good work.5/5
