People are paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for college educations. Meanwhile this game teaches more, faster and better than any class I've ever taken. 5 stars and if this dude doesn't win the monthly contest then I don't want to live on this planet.

Let's be honest, the gameplay is outclassed by many fantastic games on kongregate, but as a teaching tool, there are few that can compare. Really well done, I had a fun time learning and that is a reward I value more highly than any getMedal. I would definitely look forward to an expansion. If you are not already getting paid to teach, you should consider it, mr. dev.
on my to-do-list. In the meantime, my favorite programming music is (disclaimer: I have no connection to the person who uploaded this video): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTszj4iZUMw

Gregory, I must say from the bottom of my heart THANK YOU. I have been studying to major in making games, yet never new how. this is one of the only times I will play an educational game. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK BRO.

Did anyone else notice the looped sound this game plays? It sounds kind of like that background noise when you make a home movie.

as a programmer myself (mostly Fortran), i just say this game is actually really good. Acually it seems like most basic informatic class, with the rpg feature. Good job

I quite enjoyed the game in terms of learning the coding, you made it pretty easy to pick up on things, but the scaling of the fights seemed too little, made it really easy to win.

it'd be pretty cool if you can skip the first few levels >.> basic stuff is too basic for people who know other languages, and just wanna play for a fun intro to as3

In concatenation, part 5/9, there's a syntax error:
private var stringFour:String = stringOne + " " + stringTwo ";
Theres is an extra " " " at the end of the line... please, check this...

Arrgh, no, it's me being a numpty, sorry ! Please ignore my previous comment, and just accept my thanks for making such an interesting game !

I loved it mate. Probably the most satisfying game completion for me ever. This is the first and probably the only time I'll ever bother to leave a comment so thanks!

Uhm greg fallennn's problem still exist in some of the levels. Just a heads up. Incredible game though, you must continue it. Learning more about programing has just become a must to me after I started playing this game. 5 stars, favorite and on my playlist. And thats because I normally dont even rate games.

Only thing I don't like here is the need to grind to 100 after finishing your first rite of passage. So many New Officer wins...

It would be awesome if you made games for other languages to. This game is really fun. I am a visual learner so this is beyond great.

Excellent job. Let's make a small app called, 'double the user's number and add 1.' Create a variable named userInput, of type Number, and set it equal to 50. 'private var userlnput:Number = 50;' doesn't work in the right of passage

Well, now don't I feel silly. Anti-virus has a probability of success. I guess I'll just leave on a good note with... ONWARDS!

It seems the anti-virus software has no strength value, and though I've purchased multiple upgrades it heals me by nothing.

This was really easy considering I'm in my 5th year of my computer engineering degree, but I still played through it to see what exactly it covered. I think this would be very helpful for people who want to start programming or are curious about programming because it's basic and explained well. It also uses a language that is very similar to a lot of other languages, so transitioning from this game to programming languages besides ActionScript 3 (which I've never used personally) wouldn't cause much of a shock. I'm saving the link in case I meet a future wanna-be programmer who wants a bit of an introduction :)

Need more D: and to simplify Sculder's coding...
private var versionTwo:Boolean;
if (versionTwo) {
excitedDance();
} else {
cry();
} //lol.. looks like I'll be crying for a while.

PS. cloud saves would help, cuz i'm doing this on a library comp, and i have to redo a lot of lessons to get back to where i was, whic wen i only have fifteen minutes, isnt that good...still 10/5* for ur game!

I just have one insight, to an otherwise amazing game; in the training centers, it kinda gets annoying when u keep switching between not making the player put a semicolon at the end of their answer, and other times making them...i realize it's because soemtimes ur not making them enter code, but i think consistency is better than making sense sometimes, because i find myself forgetting the semicolon, wondering why, then realizing the fact that it's actual code i'm writing and, by that time, already ate up a chunk of health, so if u could help in that area it would be much appreciated!

I really love this game. I started learning programming in C++ and I think, after playing this game it will be a lot easier .:D I'm really keen on it :)

Part 5/11 Conditional Basics
"You will see why when you code gets very long, with many lines of code."
'you' should be your' in this sentence.
Amazing game though. I am learning a ton.

Nice, except when it doesn't pass the god damn hint level because the first time you click hint it takes health on top of the health that was taken earlier when you TELL us to do a wrong answer and then you click the hint button again, at a loss for what to do, and get a god damn unfair ragequit. Nice, real nice.
