Under rating threshold (show) I program in java (I'm not super good) but I feel I have a decent programming knowledge. So grinding (as I see it) through those first few levels is extremely painful. The first two or three aren't code at all, so I want an option to skip them. Also, and I know this may be too much to ask, but (if you make one) for the sequel, can you make it so you have different approaches to the answers (i.e. myNumber+=100; instead of the annoyingly long version) Otherwise, this is a great game and I appreciate you making it.

Under rating threshold (show) Beautiful!!! Can't wait to see if/how you cover subroutines. Not really familiar with ActionScript but hope there is also FOR statements, branching, etc. This is a very good primer for general programming concepts.

Under rating threshold (show) Thank you Gregory! This game is so much fun and it's a great idea. I never even knew I *wanted* to learn how to code before I started this. The RPG really got me hooked in. I am impatiently (in the best possible sense of the word) awaiting the next version!

Under rating threshold (show) The example in "Conditionals and logic, AND" chapter is wrong. In part 1 and 2 the initial example will not "display lock" if user has money but not the lvl. The next "identical" code will display lock even in this case.

+ - !

(0)

Developer response from GregoryCarlson

That's true. I just added a statement to that lesson saying displayItemLocked might not appear every time you want it to. Thanks.

Under rating threshold (show) Part 8/21 Rite of Passage Good work. Declare a variable called enemyStrength, with type uint, and set it equal to 100. Am I missing something or should it be - private var enemyStrength:unit = 100; I really like this game but cant continue without getting this :(

+ - !

(-1)

Developer response from GregoryCarlson

unit vs. uint I make that mistake a lot too.

Under rating threshold (show) could do with a way to leave each lesson, for instance i just accidentally clicked on the wrong lesson and had to refresh (unless i'm being dense and missing something)

Under rating threshold (show) Wow, I just started trying to learn some programming the day before I saw this game, and learning with your method is way better! Great idea! Some suggestions: 1) in the Ramville Store, it will let you keep buying health restores, even though your health is full. 2) there are a couple instances where you use "it's" where you should use "its" 3) as somebody else pointed out, there's a part in Logic Land where the name of the variable in the answer is "userHP", but in your text, you lead us to believe it's "userHp". 4) In arena battles, why does the enemy always go first? Shouldn't it be random, or random but influenced by level?

Under rating threshold (show) Just one suggestion: Explain why we are using private - without going into depth too much - or just introduce it later... (we are "forced" to use it from the beginning)

Under rating threshold (show) Very nice, fun, and learning game! I have found (i think) 2 mistakes... First, in elite trainning Part 4/8 of Using Strings and Variables, you want that we create a variable for "300$" and you say: "Make sure you write them in the correct order!" but i failed many times before seeing that it's "$300"^^ Second, after buying the antivirus, i wanted to improve it but in the upgrade section, after buying an upgrade for the antivirus, the level is always 0 instead of the price which is always more expensive for each click on it. That's it and btw sorry if i made some language errors in my comment because i'm French and for this game it's a little more difficult for me :P (but i've just finished the elite trainning and bought the new map) Nice work again!

Under rating threshold (show) Great game, love it. Just finished the first "land". I have a few suggestions: 1) Please but your stuff in increasing order, i.e. Love Bug Virus before Torrential Email Spam and Haxor before the Drill Instructor. 2) Allow sometimes a bit more input flexibility. I prefer for % values to write 8/100 instead of 0.08. It was rally annoying in Tip Calculator 4/10 to got an error because multiplication is noncommutative (and you dont mention a prefered order). 3) The difficulty increase in the battles is sill a bit unbalanced.
