So the second ending was the last one i got after getting everything else. Getting it consisted of me chasing birds around for 2 minutes with yakkety sax playing in my head.

Either I'm sleepy, Or this game is pointless and boring as heck... ... I'll pick the high road and just rate it a three.. I never did like walk-around-and-solve-mystery games, no reason to hate what others like/love...

I think that one of the seemingly easy endings (number 2) is one that a lot of people (including myself) skipped over. The get ending two, stay in Looming for one minute or more then leave through the portal that you started next to.

I love it. But it is nearly impossible to find all the pieces. I've been playing for some time now and have all but one diagram piece. It is a little disheartening to come this far and not know what happens. 5/5 for a fantastic game, but minus some awesome points for me not wanting to keep playing after 3 hours.

3/5. Decent game, I get the concept, but far too tedious. I felt compelled to finish, but it was more in a "Grah!! how the HECK do I get this last one!?!?" way, as opposed to the good "Gee, I wonder what the next one will be." Way.

Okay, so that was an amazing game, but it sucked up an hour of me trying to find the fifth Oarbar bone and the sixth Seecha rod, so in an effort to help out, I'll post a SPOILER: The fifth bone is near the spike/spire with the hidden signpost beneath it, and the rod is by the metal plate that's near the top path, to the left of the two spike/spire things that are on either side of the path.
And here's a link to the map of the place, It's been posted, but....

Hope that helps out some! Happy hunting, and check the corners of the map!

This game tickles my addiction for mystery and exploration. I've got everything but the last ending, and I don't feel like I have _any_ clues as to what it is.
A minimap would be nice, but the landmark system is kinda cool, and a map might make this whole thing just too easy.

the color of this reminds me of hueco mundo in bleach, that big lorem wisdom biulding definately looks like aizens castle "las noches"...

Love the game. I love all of your games man. You are my faverate designer on this site. Thought I would make that clear :D. Please continue making games. 5/5

The notes section alone is worth the 9 endings. Actual insight into the creative process for a game like this answers quite a lot of questions (and criticisms -- there's method to the madness).

I think all that has needed to be said about this game has already been said above... and I agree with all of it. Very deep and thoughtful and all together a genius piece of work. 5/5

Looming is a very beautiful game... At first I started poking at it out of curiosity and boredom. In the first 30-60 seconds I was like "wtf is this? lame..." then I found an artifact or two and became intrigued... and before I knew it I was sucked into it. Similar to the beautiful simplicity of old black & white movies where the strength was in the development of deep story lines and characters and fancy special effects couldn't be used as a crutch.

I love the simplicity of this game, but how it has some really great pixel art and is very artistically created. The story is also pretty interesting and kept me engaged while some other games I would probably just want to skip through it. Nice job.

@tiginator... it's not too many stories... it's the story of a whole civilisation, what they beleived in, what they did, what happened to them... all of the stories help you build an image. You can't put a limit on that

Want to point out a small bug. Nothing big but if you click off before it finishes loading(maybe it's just when it does it's newgrounds thing or something) it'll pause, and you can't click back on the game so that it'll respond. Instead it just links you to newgrounds.

Very Intriguing game, I loved it. I loved the mystery/puzzle/exploration concept along with unfolding the story behind the game.
Last ending!: seriously needs a hint somewhere to look in the 4 corners!!!! I spent over 1 1/2 hours looking for some clue, finally looked here in the comments :(

It's okay the only problem is the background is so non-descript and there's no sound, though I'm sure that's to the effect.... The background just needs something... I don't know what, but something...

For those who enjoyed this game, a similar exploration-based game is "Yume Nikki" ("Dream Diary" in English), which is mentioned in the notes about the game's development. Yume Nikki is far more surreal since, as the name suggests, it involves exploring dreams rather than an empty world. If you do play it, though, be aware that certain parts of it are genuinely creepy and/or disturbing, but then again, so are some people's dreams :P

Yes it was fun the first 20-30 mins and trying to collect all of the items, but I started to get bored trying to find the portals after completly ganing all of the items and those things that ocme out of the ground.. what now?

its a great game and all but i just dont have the attention span to play for more than hour. starts to get boring but i like the idea of it
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
this game mite seem pointless and boring at first, but once you find enough artifacts you really get into it, and you don't feel like stopping until you've beaten everything. great game

I can forgive him not taking a bicycle the first time. I'll even let him off the second time. But the third time I'd expect some pedaling to be done.

I am glad Looming finally made it on Kongregate. I played it on Newgrounds and it was amazing. Not doing it all again though!

I would like to say that this is the best flash game I've ever played, but I can't. It a bit too spread out. Also, the tablet puzzle was definitely the most difficult for me. There's no indication that the puzzle revolves around the light posts. It's a bit frustrating finding the last 2-3 pieces, and November takes too long to move around. I DO enjoy the perspectives of the two societies, which can be applied to most pairs of groups in the world. The messages it gives are great (not going to spoil them for the people reading the comments). Over all, for the people who made comments such as "gay" or 'sux", I feel sorry for you, because you cannot play something for 30 minutes without given a goal and be walked there step by step.

@Piros12, I got the far right dot on the title screen but am missing the far left. Maybe instead of whining, we can collaborate to figure it out. Which is what old school gamers used to do to find out how to completely beat a game. (Not every one knew there was a warp spot in Level 4-2 of Super Mario Bros., right? You learned it from talking to other gamers.)

I prefer the hidden post game compared to going all around the map to find or miss an object because it is so similar to the ground. I need the 6th seecha log and the lorem tablet ending.

Nice at first, very nice. Then I can't find that one final &^($#* dot. I prefer games where there may be multiple ways to get through them.
