The combo area burst tower + all dodge mode (+ early wave bonus increased [extra bubbles] + basic tower damage boost [helps to do an extra damage while basic tower is just a block to their path] + area burst tower range boost [larger burst area for the burst tower] helps to get the hard badge very fast. Some levels maybe needs some adjustments like one burst tower and bonuses tower around it (first add a rate, then a range, after a damage etc) I think you will figure it when you play it. :)

Easy abuse is the 5% Bubble bonus per early wave sent. Place 1 Burst, 1 Air Burst, 1 Speed Boost and 1 Range Boost in the middle on lowest level. Send ALL waves at once and upgrade everything with the money you just made. Just be sure to get some normal towers to block the emp enemies

Please, please. please. If you are going to make a grindy game without a fast forward button, please let us do something else on the computer while the game is running.

I suddenly remember why I hate tower defense games so much. Once you start losing, you KEEP losing. I don't have strong enough towers but I can't upgrade them because I don't have enough money because I can't kill the monsters because my towers aren't strong enough because I can't upgrade them because I don't have enough money because I can't kill the monsters because my towers aren't strong enough, etc etc...

Found a no-brainer winning strategy. Build a burst tower, and 3 basic around, then send ALL the enemies. You'll have like 5 seconds to upgrade one burst, one range and one ghost tower (this last can be any type of ghost). If you managed to do it before too many of the enemies got throguh, you are going to win the level. The fourth tower should be a damage tower. Now you can combine them to a mega tower, that alone was able to withstand all the attacks I met so far.

A little bug.. In "all splitters" mode i spawned all at once and at the end, there was one splitter who flew like a ghost. It flew towards right up corner (where wasnt end).. :p

One very frustrating flaw bugged me the entire time I played this game. After you send in the first wave, you get no time to do anything with your towers without the threat of enemies coming. Normally this is okay in TD games because they give you at least SOME time in between waves. However, in this game, once you destroy the last enemy in a wave, the next wave gets a huge boost in speed and comes almost immediately. This also messes with the fact that a large portion of your money comes from sending in waves early. If you are spending your time during a wave upgrading towers or making new ones and don't click "next wave" at the exact right moment, your reward gets drastically decreased. All these things added up to equal a not very enjoyable experience, at least for me.

I think it's quite ridiculous that there's 17 different types of upgraded towers, but most of them are utterly worthless and you actually just need 3 or 4 to waltz through the levels. It really is just artificial dificulty at its finest.

As for dodge enemies, the area towers work extremely well. I just can't see how this game is so hard and difficult for some people. If you play tower defense games regularly then this is almost a cakewalk.

I won't lie, as soon as I saw that there'd be enemies with a dodge ability I knew that they'd be a problem. While it's definitely hard to come up with new enemy types... Enemies that require you to not only be skilled with your defenses but lucky that you don't miss all the time really aren't the way to go.

Well, if you think that this one needs an impossible badge for achieving everything, (beat all levels on all modes, all purchases, etc.), rate this up and we can try to talk Kong into it.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
For those that, like me, are playing this only for the badge: the dodge-only levels are absurdly easy. Build a small windy path, place a couple of area burst towers, send all waves at once, and with the money upgrade the area burst. Maybe add a couple of range boosts.

Bubble Tanks TD 1 was a great game. But the TD games have moved on since then, and BTTD2 has not. This is the same original game, and it is boring. Very disappointing.

This upgrade screen layout is boring... I wonder why developers went away from upgrade tree's where I have to make actual decisions...

Wait wait, I got the acheivement for "Power Shortage, Code Orange" before I got "Power Shortage, Code Yellow". So I had 10 towers emp'ed, but not 5?? http://img189.imageshack.us/img189/1318/acheive.jpg

Excited to see this sequel on achievement page - pretty disappointing much too grindy and boring already after only a few levels

I played with the game some weeks ago. Now, i do not see my saved game. So i have to start from the beginning to get the badges...i do not like this system..just to say it mildly

I wouldn't mind starting with survival mode, it's the only mode i play td games for and i don't feel like spending forever unlocking it :L

Oh. And now, I've discovered the real problem with this game. If you play it like the tutorial tells you, it's grindy and impossible. If you play it like the comments tell you, it's too easy. That's terrible game design.

A hint for the ones having difficulties: don't overlook the Area Burst towers, they are really powerful, especially against splitters and dodgers!
But still, don't rely too much on them, or ghosts and EMPs are going to just walk through your defenses

@Dark_Shuyin I know I'm doing something wrong: otherwise, I'd be winning all the levels! Obviously, I'm not as good at this kind of game as you are but I'm not a noob, either. I can normally get far beyond level four of a tower defence game. Either I'm missing something obvious or the game just gets too hard, too fast. With a more gentle difficulty curve, players would have more chance to learn how the towers work together, for example, before getting hit with levels that they lose again and again. As it is, I finally managed to get the fifth level for the challenge but I doubt I'll be playing again.

beeble did you ever consider you are doing something wrong? i farmed some levels on this game until i got bored at how easy it was and left it

whouw, level 3 of open path (diagonal one) got a nice bug... i select normal mode, (tried i 6 times already) but it keeps running in easy mode..
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This seems to get far too hard, far too fast. I'm not a tower defence noob by any means but, after completing four levels, I can't get past anythign at all on "normal" and I can't even get past the second closed path level on easy. Games are supposed to be fun but this seems to be a stressful grind with no reward.

@Liecenstep - You clearly aren't playing the game properly then... I consider this one of the easiest hard badges I've ever had, because after you've bought certain modes such as all dodge and split, you can just build a small maze > build one or two area burst towers > send all the waves at once > upgrade your towers with the cash you've gained for sending waves early. Never fails for me, and I got the hard badge in 1½-2½ hours of playing. Hope it helps :)

This game's interface supposes you having mouse over next wave(s), and keys on tower upgrade. But, this game is too dam intense at times. Sending all waves just to get 400 more bubbles at once - bad IMO.

I LOVE Splitter Levels! :D Being able to send 10 waves at once, knowing all of them will feel the wrath of my ''Area Burst'' towers! >:)
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This game embodies everything I dislike about tower defence games. Too many waves, no hotkey for sending the next wave, a speed and upgrade system you need to learn completely before even beginning to play, and overall just dull.
