You simply can't make half of game and expect it to get 5. Many great games have gone underrated because of that thinking. And you are not blizzard. You need great game from the start, that will get you 5/5. And you can make sequel anyway. Just a little bit more patience.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
You are an idiot quodilbet. A lack of features is absolutely a reason not to give a 5/5, and just because I enjoy playing a game doesn't mean that it deserves the top score possible.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I find it offensive that the developer thinks they can put out a stripped down version of BT and then beg for fives because they were unwilling/unable to put in the time and effort to make this a five star game. Like Respect, 5/5 are EARNED, not begged for.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
If I like a game enough to spend my finite time on this earth playing it, then it gets a 5/5. If I don't enjoy playing a game, I don't vote. I vote like this because I hope to encourage the developers of games I enjoy to go on making games. I know there are people who think it is "fair" to give a 3/5 to a game they have enjoyed playing because it doesn't have all the features they would like it to have. These people are fools. 5/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Revised my rating. You can't rely on the promise of a better second part to fix the errors. Update the game to incorporate the changes insteadö.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
As Dev you shouldnt argue with Players. If you are unfair the Players will be too. Dont forget you are the one who lose more.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I understand what you're trying to do with your plea for higher ratings to get funding. That doesn't make the argument legit, however. I am a teacher and I don't say to my students "Give me a 5/5 rating and I will do my job better next time". If you want a 5/5 make a game that deserves it and quit shilling for ratings.
Yeah, I guess I should clarify. What we are requesting is that players not hold ratings ransom, in other words give low ratings until their requested feature is implemented. ie. "I would have given you 4/5 but right now 1/5 until you add flying pony guns!"That's what we are trying to discourage as it won't allow us to add flying pony guns, it's not proactive. If you think the game is a rated something else on it's merits, by all means rate away.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
dev's crying for more funding, too bad games don't actually get good ratings unless they're good, improve your games to get +5s instead of pushing a mediocre game out and whine for funding.
2.5/5

This game and Bubble Tanks both take place too close to the player ship. Biggest threats are usually too spammy to fight at close range, so they end up dying offscreen. Maybe dynamic zoom to show the nearest large enemy would make tough enemies more satisfying. Or bigger screen size.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Dmg should be doubled. For players and for enemies ofc. It gets kinda boring when you have to shot at one enemy so many times...
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I agree with many people here. The engineering is great, the graphical design is great, the usage is great, but the game design is mediocre at best. If u can improve on the game design part u actually can produce games to sell. Keep it up!

Cool, a Flamethrower working in open space, I wonder how that works. Then again, if I get technical explanations, I'd prefer you telling me about the time stopper :D
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Solid engineering and smooth gameplay, but lacks gameplay depth. The ships are all very similar in terms of how they're used. (The only exception is the sniper and the flamethrower.) In other words, the hardest levels are not that much different than the easier levels. That could be improved. Small nuances are great, like the ship timers that show their weapon cycles, but it's information the player doesn't really need. I'd love to see another version with more variety or, at least, some static objects or things to make the fields more fun. The ships lack variety as well, and maybe movement speed could be another factor. I'd like to see variety in the field drops too... temporary charge-ups and such. It's a classic game format and seems like it deserves classic game treatment, (i.e., upgrades, item and power-up drops, "scrap" and "coin" commodities, and so on.)
It's true we went more for simple classic fun than something truly innovative. That's what I enjoy about top down shooters. But those are some really good ideas and we'll keep them in mind moving forward!

I would greatly appreciate an auto-fire key as I play on a laptop and it can't recognize as many keys being pushed as I need.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Am I the only one that thinks the developer is pandering to us in the responses? We should give you undeserved fives because you want to have the money to make a game that's a five? Seriously!? How about put in the work, then we'll give you the five. That's how life works. Make good product, people pay for its worth, not the other way around.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
"We need your 5's so sponsors will be interested in funding a sequel!" - sorry but no. Want it? Then earn it.
That said enemy AI is surprisingly good, not in terms of difficulty but it is just dynamic which is frankly speaking best point of this game as it lacks upgrades, skills, bonus missions, secrets, good story and so on.
So 4/5 for AI and graphic style.

As much as I like Shock and Awe's ability to push enemies around, I really dislike its ability to push enemies off screen. Other than that, great game. 5/5 and favorite.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The game is ok - as others have mentioned - lack of gun upgrades. The many demands for high score have annoyed me a lot - pretty much like begging letters - and affected the score I have given.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
It might be a good move to stop begging us for a good score. This game is adequate as a time waster, if wasting 3 minutes is what you want. It's very clear to me that this game is constucted from funky music and shiny backdrops alone. This has missed the point of a game, gameplay. 'Game Play'

anyone who says this game has flaws is for the most part right. I like i and gave a 5/5 although it does have flaws. I like the overall idea, however a customizable weapon feature would b nice
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Pros: Lots of cool ships with interesting attacks.
Cons: Buggie and repetitive. No way to "personalize" ships through upgrades. Not enough unique content to warrant playing through.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Before you get made at me for saying this I still give it 4/5. now i used to be into game making. you said you need funding for a sequel one. First making weapon upgrade section, is not that hard. And you said "trying new styles of ships and blowing stuff up in new ways" This kind of game has been done many time in flash-game history. is more like a bubble tanks 3.5 Last nobody likes people telling them to give a 5/5 Mostly cause we all know that your also trying to get the kongregate prize money, especially because the prize this month is 3,000$ not 1,500$ But it's still a okay game! :)
Mostly we are requesting that players not hold ratings ransom, in other words give low ratings until their requested feature is implemented. ie. "I would have given you 4/5 but right now 1/5 until you add flying pony guns!" We also had someone rate the game 1/5 because they "knew we could do better." That's what we are trying to discourage. If you think the game is a 4/5 on it's merits, by all means rate away. But shooter games are a whole genre of games. We tried to make a fun shooter, simple as that, nothing complicated. But if everyone gave just us 1/5's because they know we made Bubble Tanks as well, well that's kind of unfair to us.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
i wish i weren't so much like bubble tanks it feels like a cheap rip off and need gunz ( i'm aware that herointeractive made it) 3/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This is very nice-looking in-game, I will grant you, but the girl's avatar looks... off. It's not crude, exactly, but it seems like a rushed design. As well, the dialogue is almost always uncomfortable and cornball. Honestly, this whole game seems be a very earnest attempt at being hip-to-the-jive, as we kids call it these days... regardless, decent gameplay and interesting to look at most of the time, but overall simply tries too hard. It trades in legitimate character for excessive marketability. 3/5.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Can we turn W into forward thrust and A into reverse thrust? My piloting mind can't wrap itself around the current setup.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Actually, I see the game has recently been updated. I need to amend my prior statement: The game now virtually REQUIRES you use the BT tactic of running around the outer edge shooting in; by the time you reach halfway into the game, it punishes any other tactic too harshly for it to be feasible. Which, sadly, makes it even MORE tedious. 1/5
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
While I didn't encounter any bugs in the handful missions I played before getting bored, I do not see this game as more than average. Also, I rarely wanted my alter ego to die as much as I want in this game due to her immature, annoying phrases she drops at each wave.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
One word: Tedious. I agree with qwasek, you can't make an average game, then offer to make something better if we rate this up. That's not the way it works. You want high marks? Make a good game.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I like the idea on how all the ships have their own special stuff, but how about upgraded ships of those ships with more advanced weapons.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
The thing I HATE about this game, just like BubbleTanks, is that to avoid taking damage and dying you have to stay so far away from the enemies that you can't see them. Most of the action takes place off-screen, which makes for BORING game play. Half the time I never even see the enemy ships - what's the point in that?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Man,i was just blowing that huge Chosen capital ship, then the next wave come whit 2 of that ships,i was just WTF??? 5/5
