It would be nice if there were support for another type of diagonal movement and resting key other than the keypad (laptop's absence of one is very sad D:). maybe hjklyunm support for the movement and a spare key for resting would up this to 5/5, but for now its 4/5 for me.

Far too much to take in at first; setup is sort of like Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. Can only be played to full extent once ALL the keys are memorized. Great idea - too steep a learning curve.

Really fun, has an old-school feeling to it, good to see someone realizes graphics aren't everything. But how do you up your stats other than HP? 4/5!

I love this game... Someone should try playing ADOM... Ancient Domains of Mystery... Download it its another rougelike game but IMPOSSIBLE (almost) to beat!

Everyone should stop complaining about the menu/controls/difficulty.
Those are all parts of the Roguelike genre itself.

finally a roguelike on kongregate. there is definitely room for imrovement though. like poisoning being a death sentence ;)

Great to see a proper rouglike. to all people who are having trouble with the controls, try not to look down on the game about it, these are pretty much he standard controls for the genre, you would get just as far if you said a wasd with use as e command for a FPS was hard to learn, it may be difficult at first but you get used to it

The controls for non-english keyboards don't seem to work out too well. Square brackets for rings, for example, don't work. In addition, other key combinations where control key is involved don't work as intended.

I like the concet of this game that it is hard, but I just cant understand the controls... too confusing for me to want to pick up.

Fun, but crash happy. I've had a number of promising starts cut short from the game glitching between levels. This game has a lot of promise, but there's room for improvement. 3/5

Roguelikes ftw :)
Good effort hexedian. People seem to be complaining about keys and the menu though...heck, for a roguelike, this is really a very light approach. Could be five times as irksome ;-)
A roguelike like this is definitely a nice addition to kongregate.

Whoa holy crap! One play to see how difficult this is... definitely a roguelike! I'm actually gonna bother to 5 this because its well thought-out, complete, and doesn't hold back at all.

AHHHHH! i was on,like lvl 8 and there was this necro in another room, and somehow, when i was moving down the wall next to him,and i appeared in the other side of the wall where he was! i was like,WTF!!!. i died.

hmm. small glitch. i used the oblivion scroll and then got killed in the same turn and the game kinda died. it says click any key to return to continue or whatever but it doesnt respond.

Thanks for the speech, Firemage =)
Just to clarify, the game is pretty forgiving as far as item testing goes, although it's better to do it when you're not in immediate danger. Bad potions and scrolls rarely kill outright, and there are no cursed items. Otherwise, be careful, the game IS very dangerous...

Ahh, the very essence of a roguelike game. I like it!
For those, who never played a roguelike:
Using items before you have identified it, is often a bad idea!
The potion could be poison, a scroll could summon magic bolts, that recochet from the walls, hitting you and enemies alike. Armor could be worse than your old one and cursed, meaning that you can't put it off anymore, etc...
One of the main points of roguelikes is, that they are hard! Every step you make could be your last, if you are not careful.
If there where a recovery crystal (like in Mardek) every odd level, it wouldn't be
a roguelike anymore.
Another main point, even one of the defining ones is, that you can only save the game to quit for a while. A dead hero stays dead!
However, the more you play, the more you know about the game and the longer your heroes tend to survive. And that's what I like about this genre.

would be very good with a better interface (too much keys to use, even one for open a door and another for close it) 2/5

I had this at 4 stars, down to 3 now because of the bugs... seems to get stuck on "Loading" on level 6 using construct warrior
