Under rating threshold (show) Razor queen's appearance is entirely random and has nothing to do with the size of the nest. It takes a LOT of patience though. Small nests are the best way to go because it increases the odds that you will still have armor by the time she shows up. You just have to play it down to a few glooples and wait patiently until a queen of some sort shows up, and if it's not a razor queen then start over.

Under rating threshold (show) You do not have to kill a normal queen to get a razor queen. You must have seen one, but you do not have to have killed her. The only requirement to see a razor queen is a full beastiary. Well, that and a decent amount of patience.
