HOW TO BEAT LEVEL 8.... All Greens until second last level. Then make sure you have the air shop(?) ... the thing that lets you bombard shit and maybe make a stun and cannon for very last level. Took me forever, but I did it!!!

okay, as others have advised, if you go all mounted guns and then sell them just before the attack choppers (ALL OF THEM) and replace them all with anti air, then level 8 can be cleared. after the attack chopper and flying fortress levels are over (you will probably be able to kill the flying fortress if you have upgraded AA guns) sell all the AA guns and go back to mass mounted guns. i only barely survived those cluster bots but i *did* survive. it's doable, at least. i'd say it's counterintuitive, at least, to have to sell everything, but i guess it works.

guys you know you dont have to kill the flying fortress or the choppers. you just have to survive ... dont buy any aa towers and sell the damaged towers some seconds before they get destroyed from last missile and buy them again. so you loose only some money in the 2 air waves in lvl 8

8 AAs (in two squares) couldn't take down a single 'stunned' airship. I guess I need to upgrade them then, how do I do that? Answer:"Destroy 30 flying enemies" *Flips Table*

Good follow up to Original but the balance between Air Units destructive force and ur ability to take em down needs to be looked at, as i feel the power of the air units means u can suffer way to much from a random spawn point that is near to a stun gun the one of the larger air unit can destroy all of ur towers even with 4-5 anti-air guns firing on it

just tried to "get more AA towers and upgrade tasks". there aren't enough air units in level 8 to get aa gun level 3 so that's out of the question. went mounted gun spam into wall factory into 10 AA guns and was not able to kill either attack chopper.
those things are WAY too good.

great game and very much in the spirit of the previous, and also awesome, canyon defense. but as many others have said, air units are too strong, particularly those crazy attack choppers. those things just rip through everything. i can't commit all the cash i've earned in the level so far to building AA just for that one level, and then suddenly shift back into ground turrets to defend against the remaining waves.

The inability to predict where the massive air ships come onto the screen is crippling. The game is unplayable, IMO, as it is, but has a lot of potential. It's simply not fun to repeat a level over and over hoping that the big bad guy will happen to run into your guns.

18 AA's, all level 2 cause level 3 isn't possible there aren't 30 air enemies on that level, and bunch of level 2 turrets and cannons lining the entire track. level 8 is too hard make the AA's do something you stubborn prick

For lvl 8 I built in a line down the map about 3 or 4 turrets wide. Built a lot of air turrets towards the top clustered. when the two air waves came, I built two basic turrets way off away from my main line. Two air units will go after those far off turrets while your AA turrets smoke whatever comes after the main line.

The strategy I used on level 8 is to sell everything on the two back to back impossible air waves. Then build as much back as possible for the last couple waves.

as aronzei mentioned: support towers stack and the results are very impressive.
also, if you need more walls and happen to have a little too much cash, one can sell the wall factory and build a new one with a fresh cooldown. i finally made it to lvl30 but ima leave that for tomorrow ^^ gn8 & gl

Personally I agree that the air bosses are just not working well. Unlike Canyon defense one, i am not comelled to unlock other reaources,, walls and turrets are enough. The air bosses are a good idea... I have found the approach in a random way... so i cannot plan for them

Im happy that this developer is commenting trying to help, but he doesn't want to admit that there is a problem with the game. Not only does the air units not always come from the side they are supposed to but anti air are still underpowered. Instead of ignoring the problem he needs to fix it. Plus this up so he may see.

the ONE good thing about anti air guns, is unlik the prequel they turn around instntly. in the prequel, if a ship got past yr gun their was NO way yr gun was turnoing around in time

For the developer-
On level 8 the aerial units come from your base side and not as you said
quoting "Flying enemies appear from the direction which is opposite to the base. They target towers so they always fly where your towers are."

bugged lvl 18: air units are coming from wrong side, from the right. Problem: a) as you stated air units should be coming from opposite of base. b) since one air wave has reactive shield (or whatever) my base gets hurt, because it fires on the planes and gets a shot back from their shields. --> impossible to get better than gold (unless sheer luck is involved maybe)
I believe there is another level where air is coming from wrong side, but forgot which one.

i like the game the only thing is, is that I want to listen to something else without turning the sound off. I am saying that a toggle menu that is able to make the sound 50% less loud.

Tip for beating level 8: use ONLY basic towers (mounted gun). You won't defeat flying waves, but you will win anyway with minor losses. It's a lame tactic but it works.

Get the badges in that are identical to Miniclip. You've got to because this is a good TD game that just doesn't belong anywhere other than here.
I agree with zvika that the achievements-unlocks-upgrades system is a must for any game that does have achievements. It makes everything satisfying.

oh my god lvl 8 is so hard they need to tweak the diffuclty on that lvl even with 3 stuns guns for anti air plus 10 air i still lost

A level's progression is very limited; you usually don't have but a single option on what towers to build and what strategies to implement.

Tip: Support towers stack. Range stacks twice at maximum. Damage stacking cannot be determined but when I used 2 in adjacency, 1 hit from a Stun Gun III killed a boss. Shield stacking stacks probably twice at max too. 2~3 Ammo Station with 2 Recon stations (max) can upgrade any tower to its maximum potential.

Air units and anti-air weapons are greatly out of balance. Even putting 8 AA around a stun gun isn't enough to take down the larger aircraft. That's just bad balance, fix that and this game will have a better feel.

Finally bet this freaking game! (172,047; fifth place currently).
It was awesome in every aspect! Hard for sure, but there are much harder games on kongregate. Surly not a casual game.

Very fun game, super original idea with upgrade system, however air is a little wonky. I don't mind the big mega air fortress thing shooting off a ton of missiles, the helicopter is a bit overpowered though. Ideally thought the best fix would be a money fix, and give more money per unit destroyed, yeah there's the recycling center, but by the time you can buy enough of those to make a difference you usually don't really need much money.

4/5, game's great but like so many have said, the air units isnt set up so well. I think I liked it better in other td games when they where just a regular unit that moved fast and was immune to some tower's fire...

@Gigathorn: do you know something about planes? I'm sure you don't know, that i the 2nd world war often planes were hit by dozens bullets and still could fly. because that also large caliber where used...

Yeah, like everybody else had said, the air units are unbalanced. Your advice to upgrade the AA in level 8 is absurd since there isn't 30 air units before that to upgrade the AA. Unless you're saying your game is bugged, and that it should only take 30 air units total in the *previous* levels to unlock upgrades.

Level 18 wtfffffffffffffff I was okay with air but now its just getting ridiculous. I have to spend literally all of my money on antiair shit and then when a normal wave of level 2 tanks comes I cant kill them without selling/rebuilding airstrike over and over.

After mission 7 I became upset about air units because I thought they came from same direction as ground units. So I went and looked at comments and saw that it was actually side opposite of base. Then I went on to mission 8, focusing my aa towers towards the south. Then the first air wave arrives and it's from the same side as the base. 4/5 for a great game and original ideas but the inability to know where air will come from is really crappy.

Wave 30 in mission 16 is hard, though there are only two vehicles. Don't know what tower is best against them. I had some anti shield lasers, but they are expensive.

it's really annoying when evryone is telling you that you level 8 is not balanced correctly and you keep on telling bullshit about uprgrading airtower ! you can't upgrade to lvl 3 because there is not enough aircraft to destroy before those two wave of super quick ship that destroy evrything. => make airdefence sheaper or more powerfull / or make aircraft weaker!!! have you ever seen an aircraft taking 2 thousand bullets before scratching ??? no, one or two shoot is always suffisant to take down an aircraft. @iriysoft : please listen to people.
Rating goes down from 4/5 to 2/5 because it takes me really too much time to pass the lvl8

I haven't played through the whole game yet but I feel like the missions don't feel quite open-ended enough. I feel like I'm not offered strategic choices as much as I am challenged with unlocking the right combination. I think this is reinforced by the developer's comments providing "solutions" to the more challenging levels. It's kind of a pity there's not more gameplay depth because it's clear that there's some real innovation and professional production values at work.
