Either I don't get something, either that "call to the dead" spell does not make any sense. Like mission 4, icedale campaign: take advantage -> call to the dead, whole army not only die, but turn to ennemy. You barely survive thanks to whole gold and mana, go back to attack -> call to the dead, this time without any ult/mana/gold to survive…

The movement patterns are completely screwed up. When attacking a building, if a enemy unit emerges from the building, my troops will go there and attack the enemy. When the enemy is dead, they will turn around, walk out to the road again, and then walk back to the exact same spot they were already in to invade the castle. Doesn't make any sense at all.

I just noticed how diligent the developer has been about acknowledging criticism in these comments, and that includes both the the things people like and the things people think could be improved. There's yet another thing to like about Iriysoft!

PLEASE add a "hard mode". This game is awesome for casual players, but the diehard RTS players find it way too fast and easy. In hard mode, winning should be harder and take longer. Currently, I can bulldoze across most maps with just 2-3 squads, healing at each town they capture; slow me down by 1) nerfing in-town healing, and 2) requiring siege weapons to capture some CPU-held towns. Nerf the player version of most upgraded units. Nerf acolytes' and wizards' freeze ability. Increase the cost of most low-tier spells. Nerf the resource bonuses from Magic Academy, Ducal Sovereignty, and 3 Days to Plunder. Give the computer more defending squads the fewer towns it has (the mission shouldn't become trivially easy once I have half the map). This is a great game in many ways. I especially like how troops commit to a fight (the game is more about strategy than tactics). Just please add a hard mode.

Not much strategy involved. You can hardly control your armies, adn especially for the horde the upgrades are complete garbage since you start most of the maps with your first 2 units aviable, and once you have conquered a castle to build the other 2 the round is already won anyway.

It would be really nice if my troops would actually follow orders instead of just endlessly attacking anything that came within 50 ft of them

Visually very appealing (graphics, scenarios, music etc.) and the different classes add variety to the gameplay, as each one is unique and encourages a different approach to battle. My only complaints are that the way the units work is very silly; sometimes after a fight you'll have something like 4 squads with 1 unit in each, but the game still counts that as 4 squads, meaning you can't summon any more unless you build more farms. Either give us the option to destroy squads, or sort all units of the same type in the least possible amount of squads as they die (e.g. 3 squads with 4 units become 1 squad with 9 units and 1 squad with 3 units). Also your units are very difficult to control, they'll just rush to attack the closest enemy they see and there's no way to cancel it/call them to retreat. Other than that it's a very nice effort, although the campaigns are too short and easy (even getting a perfect 3 star ranking), so would enjoy to see a bigger and improved sequel!

Also,
Admittedly the following is more of a personal irritation and isn't a bug, plus quite a few people probably wouldn't consider it a problem, but..
While they are certainly beatable, the hordes mechanic concerning exploding and damaging buildings during the fight is incredibly annoying to play against, seeing as if they manage to destroy the building during defense efforts and it's your only one, it's pretty much over for you, even if you have a pair of squads easily capable of holding them off for 10+ minutes, your repairs will be constantly sabotaged during defense efforts, until eventually you're killed off, or you're forced to send one squad out to defend farther away while one works, which STILL kills off one of your squads and makes it even more stupidly impossible. It's frustrating and generally not particularly fun to think you have a chance, and then be under siege for a good 5-10 minutes, even if it is admittedly a rare case.

Interesting game, fun enough but it has a few problems that could stand to be looked into. For one, squads don't seem to understand orders to "retreat" but instead continue attacking a building and any enemies that come out of it, even if they were just defending their own building and came across the enemy while I was trying to... you know, rebuild the one they were defending after taking it over so I could actually use it :/

I'm with askhere. I like slowly building and then overwhelming. That being said, the star system is a genuine challenge, and you can't overpower with upgrades...it's hard but fun.

the myrmidons are so effing strong, my upgraded horde does not do well with it. it's too strong. really frustrating. spent 3 hours on it eff!

A retreat button for the units would be more than welcome, if the castles are close enough the defenders decide to go suicide on the next castle (main city fight!) after a succesfull defense. But usually they are low HP at this point... really like the idea and everything, but gameplay could be improved a bit 4/5

love it, think its great, a x3 speed button would be kinda kool, more unit control... but i love concept/art/abilities& upgrades/ think its awesome how spells stack :) 3xheal or 3x dmg for barbarians is buff ;)

Whatever faction red is, their worm attack is the most annoying thing in the game. It isnt that its powerful, but that they can damage your buildings with it, and each attack does 60% damage to buildings. Ive had the enemy do it twice in a row to me, i cant bring reinforcements in, they kill my troops and i lose.

There should be maybe a non-canon campaign for the Rivadis side, it'll be fun to play the evil side and just having the option to play as all four sides in general!

good game, but catapult can be annoying sometime, keep attacking unit/building that not the target. Can you make catapult ignored other target except the one I click?

5/5. One SMALL thing... No Undead campaign? I was looking forward to putting the rebels down with the might of the Necromancers! Also, a 'fallback' button for your troops would be useful. And a campaign specific hero? Paladin for Westaria maybe, Bandit Chief for the horde, and an Ice Shamen for the Cult?

The time requirements for a "perfect" rating really make some levels not very fun to play. You can't do anything except pump out units and zerg which is a lame strat.

1. How about achievements which would give very small bonuses each. (Like +5 gold at start, +1 min dmg, +2 hp per unit) etc.
2. Heroes which gain exp

Mission 5, Horde campaign is NOT OKAY. I spent 20 minutes trying to break out of a deadlock the undead and the ice people had put me in. I had upgraded my town to Elite level, but because the undead and the ice would never target each others towns, I was left bunkering down. At no point did I think "I'm about to lose" but also at no point did the idea "This is fun" cross my mind. I like this game, but YEA GODS, that mission SUCKS.

For those struggling with the perfect time. You have to rush. Make sure you infantry has all upgrades and then just pile them in - often before building gold mines.

Great game 5/5 but needs a select all troops button! And maybe a little better pathing system as my guys start at the tower, walk to the road, then walk right back to the tower. On a time based perfect game, these things are upsetting.
