I haven't seen the Iron Realms rating dropped, Stormy. I think the only thing down voted was all the joykilling comments. Nice try munchkin.

Note to visitors and non-trolls: We have a pretty obnoxious troll running around on dozens of alt accounts, up-voting spam messages, down-voting the good messages, and perhaps lowering the rating of the game. Hopefully Kong should take care of this soon?

I have played MUDs for a long time but lost track of them they are still one of my favorite types of games. These type of games are not for ones who don't have a fairly decent attention span and they are very in-depth and you can do anything you want with the char you create

This game gets me so hyped up, it gets me to waste two hours of my life, I'm in a chatroom with a bunch of munchkins who are sober and bringing me down, and I can't kill other players until level 11?

There was once talk of an outrage about multi-accounting IRE supporter(s) who just registered more and more accounts and rated the game... Should have known it could go the other way around too...

How so, ConnorKenway? Because you dont understand it? Because its difficult? You should have good reasons to say so, and those two reasons are not enough.

@masarap It is highly unlikely that anyone who doesn't enjoy the game at start will change his/her opinion later. In the worst case, they just end up spamming and trolling around the game, causing no good to other players whatsoever. I dont know anyone who loved the game from the start (I didn't neither), but all the active players truly enjoy the game and live their imagination. I never wanted to scare any potential players away, and if they really like the game, im sure they understand that the key in it is imagination.

@Mnwa I see, but in my opinion, that seems to dishearten new people who want to try this game. Sure, there will be people who don't like it, but there will always be a few who do like it. I am sorry if I have misunderstood what you said, but I'm afraid a couple other people could also misunderstand your statement and be offended or leave the game without trying.

@masarap I was speaking of non-imaginative players who simply cant play the game. I know some of these people in real life, no matter how hard they try, they just ended up annoying me and the rest of the people in game. Beginners, especially beginners to MUDs in general, are of cuorse just beginners.

I think a better way to put it would be this: if you do not understand the game and are unwilling to work hard to understand it, please do not play it. You are just going to frustrate those who do try to understand it, especially those who try to help you.

@Mnwa Excuse me? We do not understand a lot of things yet we try it for the experience and for fun. At first, I did not understand the basics of Guitar and it was hard at first, but later it became pleasurable and fun. This is the same way how I feel about IRE. I did not know how to make triggers, aliases, and such, but with people who helped me, I learned and now Achaea is one of the best MUD games I've played. For people who don't understand the game, take some time to venture into the world and learn how to play it. If you need help, there is always at least one person in the chat to talk to. Don't give up on this game because you think it's hard, everyone is gifted with a capacity for imagination. Remember to always strive and be patient and this game will be one of the best you've ever played.

I would recommend that if you do not understand the game, dont play it. IRE doesn't need any non-imaginative players to ruin it up.

hey which would be a easier more noobfriendly game between the 5 games? I perfer to mostely read lore, detest fighting pvp and my play style is more akin to that of a tank that can heal itself or a mage. Any help would be helpfull

Jrod13 who said "And I like how they leave you out there and you have to figure out how everything works on your own!" .... you know you can use "help helpsystem"... right? >.<

My suggestion is that you new players write down a bunch of things in notepad or something. There are things you don't want to forget, and just jotting down a command every once in a while is a small inconvenience when you really really need that command later to survive.

@blacksoldier35
It isn't, friend. Trust me.. it seems overwhelming at first, I thought the same way you do. If you keep at it you will learn it. I played this game a lot years ago and it's definitely an experience and I did eventually learn enough to enjoy the game. I'm mostly in it for the roleplay and interaction and the only really difficult thing to grasp is the different types of herbs there are and the afflictions they cure.. however this isn't so mandatory if you do not plan on PvPing. :) If you get into that.. you'll really have to get innovative and start tying together macros and scripts for quick access to various skills and cures. Something here for everyone and the players can be quite interesting to interact with.

I wonder how novice people can kill a elusive butterfly with their tiny little fangs while its fluttering in one hit while it makes me several attempts to get it...

Everyone, remember to vote for your favourite server! All IRE games have dropped because of lazy voters. Its easy to vote, press the "Vote!" button on the top corner of the screen, it brings you to Top Mud sites.

Graphics are for people with no imagination. Why let some fat loser in a cubicle design your character when you can make a studly tiger who has vampire bites on his neck and wrist? Or a nervous wolf with sticks tangled in his beard, missing three fingers? We don't need no stinkin' graphics!

@dudeman445: True, I think the "mouse only" should be removed. As for the "no art", I couldn't help noticing that you are not using your imagination in this game. When I imagine my Imperian bard charachter fighting weevils at the Redwood Cottons, I get a picture in my head that if someone says its not art, that person must be darn blind. But if your brains dont offer enough, here is some visual artwork from one of the races (of Imperian): http://www.imperian.com/world_races.php?file=4.14.8
