Awesome games. Deeply immersive and detailed world. Though certainly not all will be able to enjoy a game without pictures.

I love how people that do not 'get' the game seem to turn around and brand it as 'boring', 'lame', 'crappy' etcetera, without actually taking the time to actually 'get' the game.
When I first played it, it was right after playing runescape until my eyes bled (I was only 14/15...please forgive me). I saw the game and was like 'wtf?'.
I gave it half a chance though and that is all you need to become drawn into such an in depth, geniously constructed game. I've played it for about 2 years now and I've probably covered not even 5% of the variety this game offers.
5/5

The names for everything in lusternia are blatently borrowed.
Lusternia=Luster
Furriken=Furry
Aslaran=Aslan, from the Chronicals of Narnia
Loboshigaru=Lobo, meaning "wolf"
Taurian=Taur is latin root for bull
And those are just species names.
Man, I guess buy you're fourth MUD, you run out of names.

I've played WoW. Pretty good, until you own everything. Then, nothing is really a challenge. It seem's boring to me, actually.

@batmonster: As I mentioned previously, the intelligent, cohesive posts that state dislike for the game are perfectly fine. It is the frequent, single word 'GAY', 'RETARDED', and 'SUCKS' posts that are referred to as trolling. Many of these seem to have been deleted, however.

Bardics are a great way to earn credits. In Lusternia, I've managed to Transcend seven skills in one year from Bardics only, and I'm also halfway to earning myself a pet. There are plenty of ways to earn credits for the patient.

Okay, let's make this simple. You don't like the game, stop playing it. The rest of us like it, so we'll keep playing. Doesn't matter how we go about it, or what you think of us. Problem solved, stop your whining about how things "used to be".

I spend -maybe- an hour a day bashing. MAYBE. The rest of my time is spent helping newbs, dodging orientations, and sitting in one spot pissing certain people off.

The Iron Realms aren't for everyone. That isn't necessarily a bad thing. I primarily play Achaea, but all of the servers are great and have their own distinctive atmosphere. The Iron Realms have more breadth and more depth than any game I have ever encountered. Unique multiplayer interactions not experienced anywhere else! ***** 5 stars

And by year, mind you, I mean ingame year. Took me about.... 3 RL months to trans one skill, and I'm working on transing another right now.

Hey, Judas? I play casually and I've transed a skill. If you know what you're doing and how to quest, and where all the good quests are, it's not hard to make 10-20 credits a year playing casually.

Judas your comments about credits are pretty far off. I can't even begin to list the names of people who have played Achaea or other IRE games without investing a single penny into their character - AND transing multiple skills, gaining artefacts, getting dragon, being a leader of a city/house, etc. It's entirely possible. And it's entertaining you say Achaea has no RP when I know for a fact that it does, experiencing it myself every time I login. Game mechanics that are truly "broken" are fixed nearly immediately. Credits through gold are entirely possible through the credit market, and city/house credit sales (usually at 1500-3000 per - not a bad price). To say that a large number of the best players are leaving is also a funny statement. They don't all leave because they don't like Achaea. A lot of them become Celani, get a different job IRL, get married, etc. A small portion of the players actually quit because they are truly unhappy with the game.

If you're all just talking about Achaea, is that like reccomending that I choose one of the other things? I'm going to choose Lusternia since I don't have time to wait for you to answer.
