Under rating threshold (show) no, nobody would have the names i tried. and it wasnt just one. i tried four names i myself made up, and have been able to use in every other game online for many years now.

Under rating threshold (show) You may have already thought of it, making it a genuine bug, but that probably means someone else has the name(s) you're trying to use.

Under rating threshold (show) Nah, L4m3ness has a point >.> And it annoys me too. I get the feeling IRE kinda hopes to trick you into playing. Though, I am one of those recently registered fanboys.

Under rating threshold (show) Hm, all the recently registered fanboys and their comments scare me.. Might take a look at the game if I've more time, though. So far the instructions could be more detailed (like a link to the game hps) - without google and reading the comments I would have little idea of what the game is like whatsoever (like that it's a mud etc etc..)

Under rating threshold (show) Excellent idea people, let's insult our target population. They'll 1/5 it if they want to. They'll hate it if they want to. We love the game, and losing those 1/5thers is not something we're really cry about. As I've told people before, leave a pleasant comment, because it really is a great game, and 5/5 it for great justice :)

Under rating threshold (show) Yeah, good point AcidSeahorse. I've also noticed that on this site, if it requires effort, people won't do it. Ahh well. Still a 5/5 from me.

Under rating threshold (show) You know, if you actually read comments, people, you'd know that IRE is working on this particular method of connecting to their games. Go to the main site and use the Java application if you're having difficulty, and contact them to let them know that this applet has issues instead of rating low and being a douchebag.

Under rating threshold (show) Iron Realms games, and especially Lusternia, are amazing. The worlds are detailed and the gameplay is fantastic. They are TEXT based games, which means if you're looking for fancy graphics, they're prolly not your cup of tea. They also require one to have an imagination, and do take a bit of time to get used to if you've never played a MUD before. But, the in depth detail of the fighting, the politics, the commerce, the skills, and the roleplay within the communities all serve to create games (especially with regards to Lusternia) that are nothing short of addicting. All the games are very newbie friendly as well, with Guides set up to help new players, training areas set aside just for new players to practice hunting and questing, colleges to learn skills, novice aides in guilds. Five Stars!

Under rating threshold (show) Having been an avid Iron Realms player for over half a decade, I stand surprised at how these games do not grow stagnant or boring. Regardless of what you're looking for in a game, any of the four Iron Realms games can offer it to you.

Under rating threshold (show) Iron Realms Entertainment offers a game for all players, really. Intricate and fluid combat, political avenues for those that want to be bureaucrats or tyrants, and extensive tools for roleplaying anything you conceive. Text MUDs aren't limited by graphics or hard coded actions that a player can take, so the only boundaries are the ones you make.

Under rating threshold (show) IRE MUDs are top notch RolePlaying games, at least from the administrative side. The administration generally does an excellent job in keeping the games entertaining, while retaining the chosen atmosphere of the respective game. The games are not easy. Far from it. Player Vs Player conflict exists in several forms, be it through fighting, politics, or even debating in the case of Lusternia. Each game has distinctive and unique aspects to suit a myriad of tastes. I won't lie. The game is not for everyone, due to several reasons. The lack of graphics, the lack of accessibility for the casual gamer, the steep learning curve and the fact that these are Roleplaying Games with an emphasis on the Role part. Still, if you can get past the first impression, you will find that the games are very well made with deep stories, an immersive world and lots of challenges for all kinds of people.

Under rating threshold (show) Andvili: I don't think you have to worry about the idiot WoW crowd infesting IRE. Their lack of imagination won't keep them too long, and the lack of graphics will drive them away sooner.

Under rating threshold (show) A quick warning, whilst these games are very very good (especially Lusternia), they take a a little getting used to - steep learning curve, text based. Give it a little time before making up your mind

Under rating threshold (show) There's a steep learning curve but once you get past it, IRE MUDs are the best out there. Lusternia was the first MUD I ever played and it's so addicting. Highly recommended.

Under rating threshold (show) Dear Lord. At least one of the MUDs shown here (Aetolia) is a serious f#$%ing RP MUD. Seems very out of place for the casual gaming crowd. Requires lots of time, character development, and learning about the specific game.

Under rating threshold (show) I've been playing MUDs for the better part of ten years (since my high school days), and I have to say that IRE's games are really the only ones that have managed to capture and keep my attention. Without flashy graphics or effects, they've somehow created deep, immersive, and entertaining worlds that have kept me coming back. Every time I log in, it's like re-reading a favorite book and finding something new to enjoy.

Under rating threshold (show) I love Lusternia, I've been playing it for 5 years is it now? Since open beta.. But shame on you IRE for posting this up :( I feel that by offering it to alot of people, especially in a place where there's alot of kid under the age of 13 you're going to take alot of heat.

Under rating threshold (show) Another thing, a warning to those cautious and lovable individuals who read comments before 1/5thing or maybe even playing - It's a text-based game. It works best that way, and it rocks for being a text-based game. Don't 1/5th it because it's text-based.
