Game is ok, 3/5 Stars compared to 5/5 Stars for prequel. The main drawback is the difficulty of the challenges in this game. They are much harder than the previous game. The last game involved some thinking to figure out how to do the challenges, but this game is just annoying.

@Solon_Mega: Check the Setting Menu (the icon on the upper-right in each map that has a gear icon,) that has options to disable sounds and music.

Okay, so this is a sequel of some sort, tho it seemed kinda the same game... it was still short and easy, which resulted in playing it through (with everything maxed out) one sitting.
3*.. I kinda like the atmosphere and the nice design, but lack of improvements tie my hands, can't go higher than that.

I love how the max experience you can get is exactly the one needed for the max level, which gives exactly the skill points you need to max your skills. Not all game developers are into this actually obvious and reassuring precision.

Seeing as this is an expansion pack without significant gameplay changes... why make us play every level twice by resetting xp and disallowing hard? Completely unnecessary.

Being able to tweak upgrades after finding out what the special challenge is without having to reclick so many stars would be a plus.

Great game overall. But balance issue is a bit off as I used no spells at all or spent any points in upgrading any spells through 2 star play. Similar to the first game spells are a bit useless here. Speed and aggressiveness is what wins the match. The minute u spawn next to a crystal they turn to attack mode which basically puts them to death if u symbiosis the one adjacent to the crystal. Trick is to spawn 2 right away letting it get to lv 3, spawn one as close to crystal as u can, turn it into atk, symbo from first 2 and sell off the atk leaf is not in range of next crystal. The idea of faster atk speed when u are 1 square away is crucial

Overall good game. Close to what I remember from the first one. The way experience works is annoying at first, until getting the hang of when to replay a level. Biggest suggestion would be a way to chose all 2 or 3 star difficulty when starting a level. (especially when going for the challenges)

lvl6 plants put onto growth mode should heal themselves, lower level plants have the option - by levelling, and growth mode should still at least have a function...

for those complaining about the advert at the beginning, games from armor games, and every other game site out there also have them, I've never before seen complaints. Kongregate puts ads on games it sponsors which get hosted on other sites. Granted this one is more annoying than most but still.

it doesn't make sense that for both the heal and attack spells, the more cost effective option i.e. the one where each point of mana expended gets you the most is NOT the (cost) option.

Don't be slow. Abandon uphill matches. Later on, between regenshield spells, power wells, and long-range symbiosis, you can viciously vendor-hop your way around with zerg saplings. Rotate active members in the long-range support farm to continue growth. Neglect survival in lieu of the regenshield spell, note damage reduction caps at 90%.

Awesome game, but just one flaw, why when u have already beat the whole game in the hardest difficulty you are able to purchase the last upgrades? Shouldn't be another level to test your new adquired godly powers?
Anyway, thanks for the game, like the first I enjoyed a lot!

This is a good example of a sequel that doesn't need to exist. Nothing has been changed or improved. It's all exactly the same as the first. Not saying it's a bad game..but there's nothing new here at all. And that opening with the giraffe..seriously..get rid of that. Plus there the fact that every time your mouse touches the Gameark logo it makes that obnoxious beep.

My favorite part of the game is waiting for money and mana to reload. The mana is fun because I never use spells, since they are useless. And waiting for money is great because there is no way to make plants or money grow faster! So no matter how much I play the game, i get to sit and listen to the same song play over and over and over again. Makes me feel good inside.

My one big complaint is that there's no XP for losses. Even a reasonably small amount of XP can decrease the frustration that comes from a hard-fought loss.

@iamthemasta: That is why I gave it a 4/5. It's a good game and deserves a good rating. I'd say all of those together are why it's only 4/5, and not 5/5 in my book. I must say I enjoyed the game.

@TheTanker423 Most of what you mentioned are very small. While I would agree with your fifth point, it's certainly not worth lowering the rating or anything for not being able to choose 2 stars for all of the choices or whatnot. It's not a big deal (and neither is organization to be honest, but that's a decent point), and doesn't detract from the game itself.

For everyone hating on the game for its intro music, just mute your computer for the 2 or 3 time you start up the game. It's only a few seconds. I have some real critiques of this game.
1. When a level finishes, you can't skip the 'counting screen'
2. It would be nice to be able to click a level 5 upgrade and pay for all the ones below it all at once (subtracting the right amount of course.)
3. Similarly, clicking a low upgrade and getting back skill points, without having to reset the whole thing.
4. Also, being able to set a level to 'all level 2' or 'all level 3'
5. A reorganization of the achievement screen, putting the 'all challenges' achievement where 'seed 10 plants' is, then moving them all "forward" one, so that it's more in-line.
I give this game a 4/5.
