It is easy to tell that a lot of time and effort was put into the creation of this masterpiece. I wouldn't personally choose the kind of music that was playing, however, it fits beautifully into the setting and sets a very specific mood. 5 Star Favorite, hands down.

When I played this game two things floated to the back of my mind, Frankenstein and the short story "I have no mouth and I must scream". This was a lovely way to pass the time and provoked some deep thinking.

these types of games interest me
the ones that engage you
and question you
and you make your own judgement about
the story

Surreal game.. heres my take on the story: The scientists obviously can't accept the way the government plans to use SGDS, and plan to stand up against Field. Not much they can do though, but Jerry manages to insert a bug into the system (Jerryslittlemonkey made me smile), which prevents manual mode from activating properly; and SGDS's consciousness is trapped within itself, and its memories are damaged, but it still retains the power to shut itself down, if only it can figure out how.
And the walls are the government's people frantically trying to stop it from doing exactly that, while they try to fix the bug. Anyway 5/5! :)

Refreshing to play a game with such a philosophic basis. Although the password combining mechanics frustrated me to no end, 5/5!

This is an amazing game, and it has excellent gameplay... but I just can't play games with this kind of storyline. I hate horror games, even though this isn't exactly a horror game. However, I managed to play it till the end. I think that you play as the AI, and in the ending scene you escape into the world after stopping all the weapons systems. Either that, or the process of the creation of the AI reversed itself because it could no longer carry out it's original programing.

Absolutely stunning. I normally cringe when people rave on about the latest 'indie' game, something I usually find synonymous with 'naval gazing garbage'; but this game really accomplishes everything it sets out to do. It is interesting, intelligent and most of all ENTERTAINING. Playing this game is not a chore, and involving the diary entries as an important game mechanic is a stroke of genius - it keeps the pace moving whilst making the storyline integral to progression.
Seriously fantastic, keep up the good work.

People who detest, or cant appreciate works of art such as this should just screw off and go play their zombie shootemup games instead of spoiling the comments page.
Superb game, what else can i say? Although i couldnt spot the ID card at the start without the help of the walkthrough.

I saw a couple commets asking about who you are, my theary on who you are is the AI is who you are however. You were created in game to have a soul... the milltary shut you down partially. leaving your intelligence not your morals so your have of the soul. you see how the walls attempt to put you down to make the wrong choice and give up. since you have no morals it processes no matter what. i mean think about it. if a person came up on the street and asked you to kill some one you wouldnt even consider it, however if said thing happened and you had no morals niether good nor bad your mind would still process it.

i make a point of not giving serious point-and-click game more than a 4/5. the fact that i couldn't do anything w/o the walkthrough further lowers it to a 3/5. if the developer would implement Kong API, this would get badges. he must not be able to.

darn, I didn't click on the passwords when they popped up and ended up needing to go through the whole thing again. >.<

I thought it was ironic that the game forced you to choose free will and you did not have the option to do nothing and accecpt your fate as a soulless machine.

An amazing and thought-provoking game.
To me, the essence in this game seems to surround depression; with the constant signs on the screens, like "You are nothing," "You cannot escape," or "Accept that life is pointless." In the end, the "player" find his/hers way out of depression. One way or the other.
Either way, this was quite amazing. 5 stars, my friend.

VERY well written. The creator(s) should be very proud, as this is damn near if not a masterpiece. I agree with the novel idea. I also like the ideas put forth on A.I. on the side of it creating an artificial soul.

Oh my god...this game is so....awesome! I love the topic , I love the atmosphere and I love the music. Great game! Great philosophy! Great development!

I noticed the walls were talking you down and giving you nothing to advance in the game, while the notes on the ground were conversely telling you to ignore the walls and giving you codes and passwords. This points to the walls representing a self-centered point of view while the notes are the opposite. I do realize that this contradicts the thought that the walls are telling you to give up your life, but the end shows similar messages as the walls, re-emphasizing them. The walls aren't just saying "give up", they're saying more, for that could imply going to the other side, they're saying "do nothing". In the end, SGDS has to choose between two ways of dying.

A few things that need to be said.
The creator of this game could easily pursue a career in creating novels.
Like those before me I agree that this is a form of art. This is an incredible game.
This game deserves more recognition and I will do my part to promote it.

I agree with what fearlessnaked said. This isn't a flash game, its art. The ideas, the thought that went into it...... the gameplay itself is nice, sure, but its the whole concept and philosophical ideas that it has in it are just beautifully written. I've barely only started and i'm already in love with it, and the music is a really nice match to it.

The pipes carry wires from each terminal. It wonders about them. This is hinting towards the "self-contemplation" theme. The white light at the end is heavem, pergatory, hell, nothingness or as it is refered to in the story, the infinate ocean. Once you have been shut down, it takes millionths of a second to fully shut down. The time you take to walk to the ocean is this slow loss of functions. (It's slow to you because you process things so fast.) The walls are the desighners way of saying, "you are your own person, don't listen to the criticism of others". The AI contemplates this.

I think the plot is from the point of view of the AI. Time isn't moving because it can think so quickly. Some of it's sytems were shut down but others wern't to preserve the weapons of mass destruction. This lack of certain systems put it in a dream-like state, as refered to in some of the computer terminals. It also lost it memory. This is why it needed to make th bridge activate before it could cross it, it understood the bridge as a way across, it didn't know it had no physical body to cross with, and was already on both sides of the brige as the computer terminals. The "point" of the story seems to be self-conemplation. Once the AI died, nothing mattered to it anymore. knowing this, it decided to stop the WMDs. It destroyed all it's systems to stop them. That sacrafice it the main desicion of the story.

A lot of people are leaving favourable comments. The thing is... this is a game. An interactive medium that should engage a player. I was certainly not engaged. I skipped reading most of the text; which may in its own right contain a highly compelling story, but that's what books are for. Games should have challenge, which usually entails puzzles in this genre. But no, just walking around, scanning every page for passwords and trial and error to open doors. Again, you might be a great author but as a game this sucks.
