Following PunyMortal's guide I was able to immediately get killed by an orc warrior who spawned right beside the stairs on floor 2 because this game is an embarrassment.

Following PunyMortal's guide I was able to complete the game and hard badge first try. Awesome game with a good soundtrack aswell. 5/5 !

Using warrior I got the botd on my 2nd run through, it's really luck based whether you get a good start or not and encounter the guy who sells you stuff

Oops, by enchanting my darts (as ranger) I seem to have engaged in some kind of stack overflow. Now selling a level 0 dart gives me hundreds of level 1 darts. This isn't even helpful cause I have 1k level 2 darts that I'm using! XD

Great game but contains a lot of worthless gear like dragon armor, you get good defense but heavily penalised. Also, not enough meat and too few health vials. I also think that more enchantments would help, this game is really hard unless you get very lucky and get good weapons, charms, armor etc... a lot has to go right otherwise you may as well give up after the first 4 rounds. So, really good game but could be better.

Hej, did it ! I was much more lucky with a fire cave in the end and the trophy very close to the stairs and monsters in a line easy to kill :p

with the many random elements that help the player(bookshelves, enchantment scrolls etc) it some times feel like this game is one of strategy, but of pure luck. it also doesnt help that the auto exploration more often than not gets me killed.

stupid hunger system! what does it do? stupid altars! what do they do? i don't see ant benefit of using them. a bestiary in the main menu describing everything you find in the game would help heaps

Necromancer is pretty much the best class in the game. Cannibalize + Life Spike = hunger and mana preservation less of a problem at early game. Poison cloud is also extremely effective against immobile enemies like elemental statues and enemy spawning units (poison cloud against rotting corpse is satisfyingly effective and awesome!

One thing I really like about this that's not in Rouge Fable 3, is that the monsters respawn on previous floors so you can go back and grind if necessary,

I finally beat the game and discovered what I believe may well be a foolproof strategy with the Necromancer. As I want to help others get the hard badge as well, I posted it in a forum, which you can access easily through this link:

Just noticed you can power shot a staff (doesn't double the damage but does do knockback), and you can tunnel shot bombs and nets (select the backmost enemy for max # hits).
@norman_rorqual You can spend money at merchants starting at floor 5, skill trainers for 25/pt or talent trainers for 100/pt starting at floor 9, and priests for 10/blessing starting at floor 13. Eat the meat to cure your hunger.

Fun hack with the Barbarian (I *don't* use save/load hack): Acquire charge, gain a level, don't go to skills menu. When there is an enemy at the very top of the screen, charge it. You're now in perpetual charge if you don't click on anything but floor, doors, and stairs. Figured this out after playing about 2000 times! @tdhanson you can eat a mushroom if you have one

My barbarian got "constricted" by a snake while he was on the stairs. Clicking on your character to wait a turn just takes you up and down the stairs.. I now have to restart?

I feel guilty saying that i like this one more than 3.
I put a bunch of hours on the kong version of 3. i bought 3 on steam. It adds some good depth. But for pick up and play this is still the king.

trash game, always makes you inevitably get to a point where you're 100% going to die, Go kill yourself, you poor excuse for a developer.

I got the goblet on my first try using PunyMortals guide. I got rather lucky, I found a ring of fire plus 2 and best of all a ring of learning that let me reach level 17. The final area was the core and my fire resistance was high enough to only take 3 damage from any hits there.

Ha, I finally won the game in only 1221 minutes. My advice is that if you find a wishing well, wish for scrolls. Save up as many scrolls (and potions, and mushrooms) as you can for the last few levels, because you'll probably need them.

If Necromancer is broken in III, Storm Mage is broken here. Stun AND AOE attack? Amazing. I don't remember whether it was like that in III, but it's definitely more useful here. Also, I probably should have played these in the opposite order. This is a good, fun game, but III is a huge improvement! I do miss the mushrooms though... As for the ending, yeah, it was anticlimactic here too. Maybe even more so, since there was no huge battle room. I was fully prepared with fire and fear scrolls too. But it was funny that I just found the goblet about 3 tiles from the stairs.
