Also to keep the long comment going. Don't take abilities that give you short term buffs. Waste of mana and its barely noticeable. Just buff what you have and take things that give more mana/health as those are more permanent. And be sure to use mana and health potions to give you more stats! It's a trap to use them as actual potions unless in a desperate situation. 9/10 its better to take the permanent +4 from the health potion and the permanent +3 from mana potions. REMEMBER, they only give you those buffs if you use them when either your health is full for the health potion or your mana is full for the mana potion.

@archerbob, move around when using stairs so one or two follow. Then use mushrooms on previous floors. You should have already cleared the floor so go to helpful things. Stealth only works if you max for it and if you have sleep dart. Hit and run until dart is back up. Stealth is more of crit than actual stealth. Do use the map. Pretty much any terrain gives you and the enemy the unstable status. Whoever is unstable gets free crtits. Make enemies follow you to where they are standing on something that makes them unstable. BAM. Free crit. Remember though, max one stat only. The game is tilted to that. If you're not maxing one thing you'll lose. Ability wise, focus 2 or 3 things if possible. Better dmg output that way. Oh yeah, Evasion OP. I hope that helps! I've maxed every achievement in this version of the game and before the recent wipe and was sitting at around a 55% win rate with like 100ish runs. So it's very possible when you learn the tricks! https://imgur.com/QaVwskx

@TheSuperiorNoah using the stairs is pointless because even if I use them to escape, the monsters follow me to the previous or next floor. Using the map is also pointless if your immediately in a room full of monsters with high hp that rape you. One thing I've really noticed in this game is that stealth doesn't work at all, so putting points or using armor that gives you stealth is also pointless

@archerbob use the environment, corners and stairs to your advantage. Also, I only ever focus the stat most associated with what I'm playing, e.g. Archer only range, mages (magic), rouge (stealth). Trying to balance stats is a bad idea. Bu the biggest thing is using the map to your advantage.

Saurav13, there is a mistake in a mechanical-men level where a door that should be red is instead grey. There is a lever in that level that does open the door.

Blink and sprint are a deadly combo, especially in the final level. If you're in a pinch, just blink your way to the chalice!

Why is there the stairway to lower floor blocked by a door that requires a key to open. How am I supposed to get a key when there is none in the upper floors. Usually you encounter a door and find a key in one of the lower floors. But damn, the way to lower floor which supposedly has the key is locked by a door which requires a key.

I guess the fanbois of this game don't understand success is purely RNG based, and some ppl don't like constantly getting the short end of the stick because of it.

@LDCL: The medium badge isn't impossible, but it is time consuming. You want to be very careful while traveling around, and simply restart the game if the first floor you don't get good items. The biggest issue (for me at least) is losing due to hunger. By the time you are done clearing the first floor you should be at the stairs with at least one food . Second, it is best to clear each floor before proceeding to the next one. Your level is based on killing enemies, not getting to the next floor, so if you work your way slowly through each floor and carefully defeat all the enemies your likelihood of dying later on drops dramatically.

lol idjit, you won't complain about THAT if you met a flying boss! Fire shrooms were THE only reason I could take out The Vampire Bat with my piddly magic missile wand as a level 2 enchanter! First secret room had a boss, WHOOPEE. Unfortunately only made it three more floors, the next secret room in Iron Fortress had THREE goblin bombers.... with a line of fire vents behind me x.X

one thing i like about this game is how it never fails to take any chance it gets to surround you with never ending enemies the moment you get low

beyond absurd the markups the merchant sells you things for. you can sell him a +2 staff of power for 30 gold and he put it up for 100+ gold. i can barely buy things i want because i have to sell half of my inventory to get it

if you ever play as a warrior, just beware that you will get a full wizard set and die, and also its good to know that if you want to play as a wizard you will get a full warrior set and die. Oh btw a nice tip if you play as an archer you will get a bunch of warrior items and die too.
Best solution is to die and die and die

me when i get the perfect run and ruin it by charging head into a dungeon because i think im the g.o.a.t (im not the g.o.a.t and i get killed by 9 elephants)

The best way to predict whether the extra dungeon on level 11 is fire or ice based, is to check what element-protection armor or ring you have. It's always the other one.

I understand flying entities taking damage from ignited terrain but they should not trigger beartraps or Firemushrooms also Fireballs are able to open doors also can closing doors and destroying doors be a game mechanic they can block LOS that's kinda useful
