The teleporter puzzle was rather long and tedious for my taste, considering it's all trial and error. Perhaps if the last-used teleporters were marked or something. A more serious problem is the southern switch: there are no statues within sight of that island, so I couldn't tell if I accidentally hit the switch more than once, or not at all. I'm playing without audio, and there are no visual clues at all for the trigger.

I never understood the puzzle with the red and blue fires, very near the end. I managed it, but if there was something more than trial and error, I never caught on.

I know your text system is a pain, but if it's possible, I'd recommend a "dead time" on Space after revealing a full text box. I was using the double-tap to avoid the scrolling, and found it very easy to accidentally skip right through text with an accidental extra key press. Some of the screens revealed without scrolling, so my instinctive double-tap always skipped those. Does anybody actually prefer the scrolling reveal, I wonder?

alright. . . So it looks great, it sounds great. But wheres the game? All I am doing is running around. This isnt a game.
It's not really. It's hard to classify adventure games as "games" at the best of times, and this one is pretty minimal on top of it. Think of it as an interactive story, instead. Not everything that involves controlling a character on the screen has to be compared to mario or gears of war, right?

By the creator of William and Sly! Thank you very much for this beautiful game, I enjoyed it as much as the W&S games. 5 stars and looking forward to a sequel/longer game.

Awesome job on the graphics. The trees are mind blowing, like @TeleKawaru said. And the player movement is smooth. Though the particles really choke my computer.

" Developer response from Kajenx
Aw, sorry man! I'll have to send you money for a new computer. ;)"
O.K. +1 for wizeassed sarcasm.
Actually it isn't my computer. That is plenty powerful enough. It's that I usually hit kong games with safari and flash is extra crappy in safari.
I don't know what you'd have to do to make your game not suck in Safari but it seems like 80-90% of games are fine. Some just can't be played in it.
Worked fine in firefox. I just finished it. It did glitch on me once near the end. you're wandering down this wind path or whatever it was called. Right after you go through this one island shaped like a C, you're going around it and I bumped into lazaris and it spat me right into the air where I could no longer get back from.

Can't wait until its finished! 4/5 right now. The only thing that i could add would be some way to actually what is in your inventory. Hover your mouse over the things in the top right and have it tell you what they are. The trees are completely bad ass! Nice job

Haven't finished yet but I'm sure I will eventually (never could get puzzles like the fire gates right... ;)) but wanted to comment anyway because it's a truly awesome game -- and really well written too, which is super rare. Found two little typos though: ""doth exists" should be "doth exist" (doth is the same grammatically as "does", and "does exists" doesn't work); "Some momento" should be "some memento" (comes from Latin "meminisse", "to remember something" -- like "memory".).

I always love the music in your games. Some favorites from this one - the way the water catci make fireworks for when you walk around, and the cameo of Lucille Ball as the sphinx!

Kinda laggy. It was fun until I had to go through this random maze of teleporters and all the sprites from the fires made the game super laggy. I eeked my way along until the third time I got sent back to the beginning. Can't handle it anymore.

Somehow I keep clipping. First I clipped into a tree and couldn't advance or go anywhere but walk along the borders. After restarting I would move to certain places and clip backwards.

Very enjoyable, well put together. One of the few games I didn't feel compelled to use the mute button. Didn't really have any problems, although maybe you could make the ring fragments a bit more noticeable? I was paranoid I was missing them.

After the character says "this time it was different" and I hit space, I get a black screen. Literally nothing I do will bring the game up and the menu button doesn't work. I am completely unable to play. I am using Google Chrome.

my one problem: the egg took me 30 minutes to figure out- why: Because I didn't even know about whats her name or how to get to her, I didn't even know that part of the island existed... perhaps when I have the egg change that one guy at the hotel's sentence to "I recognize that... you should give it to Jezabel, she's over northwest of here"

Lovely game, but I can't find the last ring fragment. :(
I've gotten the one found in the western forest, and the two in the south-east... But i don't know where the final bit is.

I thought for a little while that I was supposed to somehow convince Fat Guy to go over and stand on the switch. But alas, the plot advanced without him. Really cool game.

This game was awesome. There was a small bug though, when I was talking to the Sage, the conversation would randomly end mid speech bubble. It only happened twice, but it confused me at first.
That's odd, lol did it happen anywhere else or just on the sage? Also, when you talked to him again, did you have to reread the whole thing? Is it possible you were going throught the text too fast?

I actually managed to break the game as well, and now I'll need to restart. After speaking to Draco, I walked towards the air balloon and clipped out of the world. I can now walk on the sky, but am unable to return to the land.
I'll check the hit testing there, but if you just go to the menu and then hit continue, you will return to the entrance of that area rather than where you were. It only saves during screen transitions.

Ugghhh!!!!!!
I cant get past the part where i havta het through the dragon puzzle!!!!
But it was a really great game! I love the 3D effects on the trees, and the puzzle solving element to it!

How ridiculously awesome was this? I couldn't have wished for a nicer friday office hour :) I am now hungry for more.
One single observation: the text speed with space held is not much faster than without it. Maybe you could implement that text bubbles instantly reveal text on a second space tap... sometimes it took long to re-read the conversations. This will be 5/5.
I really was going to do this, but I gave up after a point because of how I'd coded the text system... (Like I said, I made a bit of a mess, lol.) I'll take another look at it. That's the way it SHOULD be, really. EDIT: I was able to do this! It was easier than I though, I must have just needed a fresh perspective. ^^ I'll upload it a little later.

noticed a slight glitch. I clicked Menu to see if it was like another one I played where you lose all progress. but when I clicked it the speech was still going on. I can see "This time..." under the start screen.
Ooh thanks for letting me know! If you guys find any more problems please comment! Think of it like a badge quest, haha.
EDIT: I tried to duplicate this and I couldn't. Where did you see "this time..."? Was it in the dialog box?

This game is really good! The trees in the foreground were genius. Would have been a great game without them, but they really seem to help the player feel immersed in the environment. I'm not sure I've ever seen that technique done so well. Great job!

"Somehow it seems things have just begun"... SEQUEL!
Beautiful game, a little depressing somehow, but still, beautiful. I expect more good work from you. :)

@Mike Remember what she said about drifting away with a bundle of balloons? You need to use those tethers to collect cactus using the scythe you get from the frog.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I think there may be something wrong with the game. That guy that wants something from his daughter well when I talk to her she just keeps saying the same thing. All I have managed to do is get some tethers.
