my tactic:
play deathknight
get hydras everywhere
get lichs everywhere that's left
put manticores near the base to slow the fliers
camp the base
win
celebrate

As a bit of commentary, this game does seem a bit unbalanced in favor of ranged units (ranged = both magic and arrows).

Hmm.. I have choosen the archer, but it never attacks, even if s/he stands 'in' the enemy.. Might it be the webbrowser?

orly when i did hte last lev i was a death knight with full vampire upgrades the BIG elemental and the hydra upgrade also had the 1st 2 spike upgrades
k ehre is what i did excavate the lower 1/2 of the map to get gold use vampirs as a starting defence and build archer dudes in a circle arouond your base before th 1st wave build 3 spike traps on the left path and 3 on the right with he 2 upgrades this means that they will both kill 1 unit later on excavate even more houses on the right to get a stort of wall going all the way up to the spawn build liches there when you can get hydras do so build academys and gyms if your line seems to be failing
also a thing to notedo NOT build vaults or elamentals i recommend against tracks as well
as long as you do not alter the path the humans take on the top 1/2 you should be good block the flying waves close to eny lich teams you have by jumping in the way of the hostiles so that they attack you while the liches or archers shoot them

what would be cool would be if you could have a bigger map and more teams and u no like have allys and stuff and everyone gets a hero eh?

the secret is to increase the quantity and quality of your defensive units over time as allowed by the amount of gold and experience points that you have amassed.

I dont know my hydras die pretty easily though all my skill points go into the avatar. But to make the game easier on some of you always put range units behind melee units thenhabe range units on the side if possible so the enemy has to fight the melee while the rand to the front and side kill them.

The game is a bit too easy, at least for the knight. That hydra skill for the knight only is too strong, can win the final several levels simply by spamming hydras.

@ Newbzorz: speed is measured by lenght / time (miles per hour <==> pixels per second); the avatar is far from being useless, many times it can be the key of the game, if you can handle that and if you rely on that.
@ kendric: Sometimes my minions get stuck near a wall, without any enemy close to them; they become smaller (elementals get a goblin-size) and cannot move until someone kills them. Could you fix that? It happened with elementals and vampires, I don't know if this problem is shared by other minions.

I do have a problem with this, the death night can pass through walls, but so can the ranger's arrows. I think as long as he is compleatly in the wall he shouldnt take damage. Also he should have high defences against melee and arrows but really weak deffence against magic since he is ethrel weapons and arrows shouldnt beable to kill him so quickly. But I know its a game and its suposed to be challanging but just think about character's like that when you make them.

seriously though, some of the units and abilities are hopelessly unbalanced.
liches RAWK. pit traps SUUUUUCK. the speed boots are just. . . abysmal (pixels per second?! is that A JOKE?! maybe SECONDS PER PIXEL). alchemy is totally useless, your avatar is pretty much useless, gold vaults are a waste of 100 gold (literally. . . there is no way you are getting that 100 back) etc. etc.

pingpong, update your flash player.
anyways, the game becomes quite easy once you realize the key is MOAR LICHES!!!111

(...continued) Plus, you have many features that you only used in one or two levels (pre-built buildings, the guarded treasure, etc.). Throw some more variety in, put in more specialty levels, and give us a chance to sink our teeth into a longer campaign. Overall though this is a very entertaining (and difficult!) Flash interpretation of Dungeon Keeper. Well done!

Very good game (5/5), but I'd love to see a couple of significant improvements if you do a sequel (and yes, I'm usually against sequels, but I feel like you haven't hit your potential here yet). For one, I'd like to see a more persistent hero: one that gains levels and items and keeps them from stage to stage. This would give a much grander and continuous feel to the entire experience (yes, you'd have to rework a couple of things, like when you can build certain lairs in a level, but that wouldn't be a huge deal). Personally, I'd like the ability to rearrange my points at will since various strategies demand various setups and you don't know what's coming when you're trying to pick your point allocations. Additionally, I'd like to see more, shorter levels. Marathon levels (some take an hour or more to play) are not great for a Flash game. Smaller, bite-sized chunks would be better. (continued in next comment...)

This game is really awesome when you get it and really fun^_^but 4/5 since it needs mroe modes(sandbox mode?)and possibly campaign.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
well made and should have more possibilities with the heroes, also could have more than one campian.it could even use some upgrade for peons digging speed and speed all together :J
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
totally excellent and very well made.
i recommend making interest not suck, though, or removing gold vaults altogether. not even on the last level does a single vault make back anything close to its investment.

Wait you gave it a 1/5 because you failed to look where you were clicking? Terrible reason. Overall, it's a fun semi-addicting game. I kinda like it. Also as a hint to everyone who hasn't figured it out. get lots of dif types of unit in one place. such as 4 buildings on both sides of their walkway, get 4 of them to be hand-to-hand to stop em and the other 4 to be ranged to shoot them. Not a guarantee, but it will get lots of the weak ones also. Spike traps = very helpful.

fun game
fairly balanced (you can swamp the map with 1 ranged and 1 melee) and finish the game easily, its all in the preferences
