To beat epic: I used a couple of upgrades from the legendary shop, most notably the one where bonuses don't end at the end of stages, rare items drop more often, and rare items are transformed. Having done that and pimped out my ship with pretty much the best everything, I kept doing the level right before epic until i got the ion wave and then tetra fire. This will cut one hell of a path. Epic is still tough, but he should fall to you that way.

how come with the tier 2 tricraft ship i can buy 6 of the first page of upgrades and 4 of the 2nd page, but with the tier 3 tricraft ship I can only buy 6 upgrades total?

Well... All 24 Achievements, 48M cash, 88M Score, Boss World 100%'d several times... That's this game finished. It was fun while it lasted. Ultimate was a grind though. Thank God Time Attacks contributed to the running total. 4/5. Needs that last achievement toned down. I finished the game with about 3k or something. x.x

D, to use darkness charge, also punts you to the right as if pressing D. As the game really isn't built for it, I'd suggest outright disabling WASD movement.

hardest thing about the final boss is actually seeing its attacks through the gaudy lightshow that is your weapons. Would like to turn my attacks transparent or invisible so I can see the screen.

This game is simply amazing. One of the most important things in a game, is good music. Make the music crappy and it doesn't work. This game has everything from music, to simple design, to good gameplay. 6/5 if it was possible.
