Quinn's Review: One of the best of the old arcade-style top-scroller space fighter games here on Kongregate, Enigmata is a very well crafted game indeed. The opening graphics are sterling, and though the amateurish Neko lets down the game a little, everything else looks stunning. The ships are well realised, the shop is well balanced and forces you to make some real decisions about how you want to spec your ship - and to complement that you can have multiple ships outfitted differently, which is a great touch. The achievements realistic, although not knowing what they are in advance it's hard to work towards them. The difficulty curve is good - it doesn't jump in diff, but you do require better strats the further you go. Everything a space shooter should be.

P.S. blue ship sucks go for red or orange, and the boss worlds hard as HELL. loled at the level 107 thing though.

Loved this game. got pretty much every power up and my ship was godly. but even then the bosses where still hard. 5/5

to beat epic (easy): keep bumping into him (you lose 3 health per bump) and he doesnt attack you make sure to have bonus magnet on and do this for 5mns straight if this helps tell me on my profile thanks :D

Game is bugged. Played till lvl 5, then went to time attack, got a plat medal, went back to the shop screen, the ship i purchased is missing and not selectable. I try to buy the ship again but the ship doesn't show even though gold is deducted. Was enjoying it for the first 15 mins, then it broke. MAJOR GLITCHES. 1 star for me even though i love airplane games

Kinda easy cause you can replay levels and gain as much gold as you need. By level 5 I had the level 3 ship, unlimited missiles and healing power, on top of a bunch of other stuff. Good Game

Wow. I figured when I told it to not ask me to save every level, it would auto-save...so much for that. I was on level 18, now im on 10.

Loaded a saved game from yesterday, all upgrades bought have been removed (not unequipped, they havent even been bought). Wouldnt be so bad if the money spent on them had been returned, but no. So now Im on a late level with no upgrades and no cash to buy any more.
Pretty major glitch, to be honest... wont be playing any further.

I have a very trivial complaint for this game. For a game that is keyboard based, why do I have to "click to continue" when I pause? It disorients me and I have to scramble back to my keyboard before I get attacked (this could be due to my lack of organisation)...Other than that, tis a good game. (though I prefer moving the mouse as opposed to keyboard.) Rant over

slight bug: replaying the 20th level issues the same prompt of start again/continue fight as originally beating it in story mode. The game should be programmed to have the prompt issued after the bosskill, not the completion of the stage...other than that, smooth game

Whoa there was a grey box on level 16 that I thought you couldn't destroy, and I paused the time and shot at it and when my energy was gone I kept crashing into it and shooting at the same time - when I destroyed it I got a gold bonus with the letter V in the middle - and my gold count went up with 3 millions!

APPARENTLY.. THERE IS A BUG WHEN YOU BUY THE BOSS STUFF IN THE LEGENDARY SHOP.... LOOKS LIKE IF U USE IT B4 FINISHING THE GAME (AND COMPLETE THE BOSS MODE). YOU DEFINETLY CANT GO BACK!!!... I THOUGH THEY MEANT A LOT OF BATTLE WITH NO SCALES BUT ITS WAY MORE THAN THAT O_O.. NOW I CANT FINISH MY GAME IN LVL 20. DONT MAKE MY SAME MISTAKE T_T.

@Jaco208. You have to BUY 5 ships, not HAVE 5 ships (so you have 6 in total).
Also, I beat Epic, haven't beaten the boss world yet, addictive but I've played better. The Unknown achievement is just a douche move, to be honest. 3/5, though if I could give a fractional score it'd be 3.5/5.

good game, finally totally beat it. I just wish there was some sort of goal past epic. I beat him with little trouble, then went and defeated boss world a few times. now i have all ships, all achievements including platinum time attacks, and all upgrades purchased for the ship I used. still very fun though 5/5. also for those of you wondering about the 3 mil drops, they drop from another enemy you kill after killing the asteroid. a few times near the end of the level i would kill one but get no drop because there were no more enemies.

missiles can be changed with ctrl and can be bought at the bottom left hand corner of the shop.
the 3 million gold asteroid worked with me 2/2 times however, the second time, i killed the asteroid and a neighbouring ship that died dropped it instead. perhaps you could try to kill the other ships while youve stopped time?
