Far too much luck involved. The distribution of tiles to match is random, the bonusses you get are random, the treasures you find are random ... - Instead of setting up a strategy fit for the enemies you face, you have to take what you get, your only choice being the placement of guards. Not much more than a match 3 game with some awful sounds.

Here was my thought process on the third to last level: "YES ONLY ONE MORE TO GO AND THEN I'M DONE!" [Random Fortress Appears In Between] "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH"

Making it so that some enemies can attack the walls while there are heroes and guards in front of it seems kind of dumb and terrible. I had two guards, 3 archers, 3 clerics and my hero and the wall still fell.

The thing about this game is you eventually become oblivious to what's going on, I've had my horsemen (The green noob) die several times and I didn't even notice till I went to put a gaurd in his location.

I avoid matching 4 blues now, because all that does is create a guard that will die and take away my TRIUMPH raiting. Melees are so weak in this game. I know that the Leadership stat is what protects the guards but no current item is going to give the Fighter/Cavalier anywhere near as much Leadership as the Archwizard's base stats. (Yes, their titles change as you level up). For a player to strategically avoid what should be a good thing (matching 4s and 5s) is sign of a problem with game mechanics.

Your mage is clearly the best character... Best stats, kills enemies before they reach her and best power-up things with the tiles...

2/5. The board is too small and there's too many colors involved, so getting 4 (crucial as it is the only way you can get guards) and 5 combos is very hard. I found that I beat some levels just by pure dumb luck, getting a lot of 4's and stacking guards easily, while on other levels my heroes just got owned because I couldn't get enough guards. Also, the melee were laughably terrible against enemy ranged, can't remember the number of times the horseman and warrior got owned by ranged.

Guys, even though for the Cavalier says plus a negative number, it is still positive. Try keeping track of his health with all stuff taken off. His health and leadership still go up. Plus so other people can see and can keep this games rating high.

Yes, there is balance issue of heros' power. But for me, I don't need to take care of the mage. It's nice for badge hunting! (When their power are balance, the game must be more difficult)

If only I had an explanation for what half the numbers in the shop meant. Some weapons have the exact same stats except for a single number in parentheses that seems to have nothing to do with the hero.

There is a major flaw in the game dynamic. If you have lost a wall so that mages cannot be played, and you get a mage, but then have no match 3's left to play, the game does not flush the board, but instead requires you to use the mage you cannot use. At this point the board is no longer playable. I assume the same problem arises with archers as well.

chain comment - The warrior is perfectly fine, but the other two need fixing, that and sometimes you never seem to get the green/red tiles you need to heal your heros until they are dead.

I must say the game despite it being good, has SERIOUS balancing flaws, the mage should not have high leadership and damage and low health, it should be something like, low health moderate damage and high leadership, otherwise she is capable of single-handedly defending the bottom road. The Cavalier on the otherhand is borderline underpowered.

Its a good game but i've been playing it so long i just end up praying for it to be over. If you read the story it teases you, as if to say this battle might be the last but it never is.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
This game lasts too long for how repetative it is :| for a "complete the game" badge you really need it to be over in like 2 days and/or be far more entertaining as you level up. This is just a struggle past level 7. Poor quality control ruined what was a fun experience for the first 5 or so levels. Redesign time!

If you don't reinforce a hero they level up faster (because they get more kills). In earlier levels, reinforce the mage a bunch and she'll level slower.

The match 3 board has some bug, sometimes.
I made a column of 4 green tiles. And only the three above disappeared. I clicked on the last remaining green tile, and it disappeared as if it was an ability tile. I am not sure, but the effect of the corresponding ability was not launched.
Some other times, I made a guard tile. I clicked on it to put the guard on the battle. It worked. But the guard tile seemed to move back and forth, like a missed match 3, and did not disappeared. Then, I was able to put another (sometimes more) guards using the same guard tile. Finally, it disappeared normally.
I don't know how to reproduce these bugs.

This is no RTS or RPG. RTS = real time STRATEGY. RPG = ROLE playing game.
This is just another match tiles, as fast as you can game. match more tiles faster to win!
shoulda been named yet another crappy match 3 clone that wastes a few hours of your life. and yes i beat it. stupidly easy. badge and everything. i only played through it expecting for there to eventually be some part of the game which WASNT match 3 and actually involved RTS and RPG elements.

In addition to having the horse-rider level up and gain nothing, some of the "magic bonuses" do not function on equipment. I was trying to use the "+1 HP per match" equipment to keep my melee heroes alive/revive them after they died (especially the horse-rider, he seems to rarely get any tiles), but after noticing that when their health got up to a certain point, they already did that, I compared it to what they were gaining per match. After they start getting more than 1 HP per match through having a high health score, the "+1 HP per match" bonus does nothing. So the inferior equipment I had been using because it was the only equipment with the bonus? Pointless. Gotta find another way to keep horsey boy alive.

I don't think the maker reads the comments. if he could make an awesome game like this, idk how it would be hard at all to just buff up the knight a little.

Oh, and also a real suggestion: Power-up and units really, really need to live over on the right hand side of the city board tile switching area, or something. I hate hate HATE having to waste a power-up because it's the only move left on the board.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
Even though the stats on the level up screen say "+ -24" or whatever number it happens to be, they still actually gain. There is some sort of bug there, but they do NOT actually lose power even when it says they do. On a related note, even though my horseman is twelve levels lower than the other two by the end, his base leadership is higher than warrior-man's, and his HP is better than magic-chick's. His damage is a little better than hers, too. There isn't that much of a balance issue... Imagine how OP he'd be if he did level correctly with them. Oh, and to people who think it doesn't get harder toward the end, try getting a perfect game on the next to last level. Freaking wall-smashing dragons....... ><

I really liked the game :) I just think that the powerups are almost the same color as the heroes' colors, so it gets tricky some times to distinguish (either that, or im getting colorblind =P )

Bug: Sir horseman was charging when he died. When he revived, he ran out of his lane and i never saw him again during that level. What a wimpy king's guard running from the enemies -.-

f.... h..l this is bull...t. This game is so depentened on units that when you dont get 4 in a row 3-4 times the first 5-10 minutes your doomed.

Thanks for taking all the backup troops Mr. Knight, Although it's not his fault he's absolutely s***. All in all, except from the obvious problem with the Knight, this is a great game 5/5 :D
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
I initially rated this 5/5, but after continuing for a while and seeing my cavalier actually becomes weaker and mage overpowered I brought it down to a 4/5. Fix this problem, as everyone else has stated, and this game will get a 5/5.
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
My Cavalier hasn't gotten any negative stats yet, and I'm at level 25. Someone else mentioned their mage getting negative stats, when others say she's a powerhouse. (She is for me, too.) That makes me think that the stat increases aren't static per level, they're based on damage done, or enemies killed, or special moves used in each level. Agreed?
Under rating threshold (hideshow)
How do you expect people to get victory without a hero dying, when knight has so low hp and attack. If there ever was a impossible badge, it would be that all levels should be won on perfect.
