Beautiful graphics, fitting music. The upgrade system is different, which is nice. Audio control is excellent. You might want to add user defined movement keys for people with non-standard keyboards, but it seems like a pretty stellar game otherwise.

I really like this game, especially the upgrades. But some bugs are really, really lowering the entertainment.
Often the blood which is spoiled through slashes bugs out and just doesnt appear. The only bloodsource then is from dead enemies which really inst enough in some levels [those damn journeys!]. the "hagane kegawa" skill resets to level 1 after you die. I try to click as less as possible but it still seems liek the game queuing dozens of commands I am not sure I ever odered and my ninja ends up hitting, slashing and blinking chaoticly and uncontrollable.
As I said, I really, really like this game, but those bugs makes me rage quite a bit. And I am not one of the raging type...
upgrade bloodlust aura to get more bp. air combos and melee connects get more blood than the regular spray. if you upgrade brandish arts, their bp cost gets lower. don't spam them or you will really lose bp fast. time the sword skills as they can easily give the bp back to you if used correctly.
i think the kegawa bug is when you switch to lower modes. i'll fix this as soon as i could.

It's really annoying that if you lose a mission (include survival missions) that you get no experience. I feel like this game is designed to have a lot of grinding and I just doing enjoy the game play enough to grind.

Fantastic game. Great art, decent story, fun gameplay, and a robust upgrade system. The only changes I could suggest to make this better would be branching storylines to add replay value (story/ending changes based on decisions) and selectable AI allies which would fundamentally alter playstyle... such as one that boosts aerial damage and encourages airborne combat, one which boosts healing, etc... as is, it was a bit repetitive. Still a solid 5/5 game though!

List of things I'd like to be available:(Yeah it seems rude, BUT I did not give my note yet, did I?)
1. A bestiary would be nice.. Sort of list with enemies' names and their overall description of their health/dmg or danger level (not in numbers, but "average", "high" or so.. Ninjas don't need bestiaries after all, do they? ;) )
2. When a skill is maxed, it'd be nice to place some note it is, for example word "Max" below it, same for whole skill trees, please!)
3. Damage increase amount from the combo talisman? It'd be nice, as I couldn't really judge whether the talisman or the life orb was better.
...
My note? 4/5(there's note between 4 and 5.. If there was, you'd get it:)), 5+ if you'd place at least one of the things I said :) Great game, wish it was bigger ^^

Fun game: nice graphics, interesting upgrades (nothing confusing in my opinion), good enough story. I did not feel controls good enough to try harder difficulties, but they are probably fun for some people too. There is no replay value for me though, and in-game achievements would probably not add it easily, but I am astonished at amount of fun I got from a game of a genre I usually do not like. It would be great to see a *quel, so I hope this game will be successful! Way to go!

Hi, I am not sure if it is a glitch or merely misinformation. I played Endless Shadow Mode and got 2000+ SP which I thought was enough, so I died, when returning back to the map I had received nothing. I don't read anywhere that says I don't receive SP... so?
Otherwise it is an awesome game, I enjoy it greatly. :)

I think this is one of my favorite flash games this year. First of all, the presentation is great, and on top of that you have some very solid controls and gameplay. This game definitely surprised me in terms of quality, and it's rare that I see something this well-crafted.

great work on this game, very smooth gameplay, provides a good challenge on the fool difficulty, upgrade system is pleasantly diverse, well thought out. Great job. also i enjoy that the characters and story remind me of kenshin haha

This is a glitch that i have found: when i started, the wasd keys did not control movement. Instead, my character keeps running to the right. He will only attack, it is almost like all keyboard controls do not work. Frustrating because this looks like a good game.
truly is a weird glitch i never encountered before. i'll try to look this one up. thank you. for now, please refresh the game and see if it's a temporary fix.

This is a great game. Sad thing is if you make a second one your gonna have to top it I hope you have plenty of new moves and ability's :) (you better continue this story) Good luck and congratulations on an awesome game. that I already beat on newgrounds and will beat here when it get's badges.
This game had to be chopped to more than half just to reach launch/completion. it was done in an old language that believe it or not, if i did this game at my current programming power, i can probably throw 100+ enemies at you. story is far from revealed and sword skills were definitely reserved for sequels if this game is received well. the later stages in the game, along with backtracking bosses will give much better soulpoints. if i allow the endless mode to be farmed, the game would be a breeze.

I love the upgrades system, but the game gets too hard later on. I was doing fine on fool until 2/3 through the first map, then i had to drop to slayer. then i cant beat the 2nd boss. i just cant even come close.
you may need to upgrade sharpened lust and abuse wing stride (double jump) and time your blink shifts to get close. wait til the boss does the ground spike and get close to deal as much damage as you could.

Seems like a pretty fun game, except for the fact that I can not get bp from enemies, even if i stand directly on top of 3 dying at a time.

If all the BP loss is percentage-based, but gain is not then what the hell is the point of upgrading BP limit? It's just making BP refilling harder.
BP reduces incoming damage.
Try to get hit without BP and your LP drops faster than it blinks.
pair high BP with Hagane Kegawa skill and a good relic and you probably won't see the game over screen.

i would prefer if this was keyboard only, maybe space or something to attack. moving the cursor makes it annoying and difficult on a laptop and even with mouse connected it wud be faster if you didnt have to move cursor.

Was the game updated from when people said the upgrades were confusing...? Because there's absolutely nothing confusing about it... 3 groups, and then upgrades in each group... It tracks levels, shows stats... I dont get what there is to be confused about.

Great potential, and very nice art work. However, I'd really love to be able to change the config.. Qwerty is not my fav by far. As stated before the upgrade menu is quite confusing.

My keyboard does not work in this game :( I have to swing my sword and use it to move forward. Not sure way--keyboard works find--note the typing.

the enemies seem to stop bleeding all the time -_- even if i AM hitting them its like god ran out of blood to give to his magical spawning ninjas XD but really tho fix this THX :) other than that love this game
