By God, it take a long time, but through perseverance, this game can be done on Epic mode.Well worth the patience - 5/5

it's so frustrating that you can only save at certain points, so it gets a -1, but the epic-ness counts for 7 points. 6/5.

Great game. 5/5. And Epic Mode lives up to its name, I thought the bosses were gonna be tough, but not dealing over 11,000 damage in one hit xD

If you die at the final boss, you should be able to just restart there instead of having to go through the entire third set again (which includes the damn hydra)

All of these abilities (with the exception of mana leech) can be easily accessible by a) attacking enemies which just attacked you with whatever weapon. b) Using power metal a lot during a wave.
Mana leech is a bit more annoying to get because you have to swap several times (somewhere around 4-5) between *random sword* and rune blade, attacking at least once with each of the two (or more if you want) swords.

Probably the easiest way of beating the game is obtaining these passive abilities for matt: counter, counter x2 and Mana leech, and the two power metal (healing and damage) passive abilities. I highly recommend choosing the air support and the secret weapon air strike abilities as well, just because they speed up the game. But with the aforementioned abilities, by equipping razorback, you can deal roughly 6k worth of healing whilst dishing out 8k dmg with power metal alone. (on medium :P but there's no saying it won't work on epic, if with slightly reduced success.) This makes it virtually impossible for you to die, (just add barrier and protect to be sure on higher difficulties), as matt will counter almost all physical attacks earning roughly 170 mp or so with each counter, making it possible to continuosly dish out power metal.
